Agreed. It's up to a point where when you die unexpectedly, your first thought is "f***ing hackers man!", and not "wow that was a good play, nice one man". And that is not good for any game, or mod. I agree, fix the major bugs on the mod, and leave it be or release it to the community. Major meaning tents/vehicles saves and maybe graphic glitches if you can. Leave the new features for the standalone. Enough is enough. -
Just remember, if enough proof is submitted, the OP will not only not get ubanned on US 454 but probably get global banned aswell

Evidence should be presented to the dev team, not to the hacker and/or his group of friends. Specially if it's log files that have millions of rows of data.

There is evidence of hacking, as stated in SiCo forum, where the OP even created a new thread, and it was explained to him this. He was caught. deal with it.

After a few timesplaying it. i can confirm it works. For the most part. Tents are working, so seem to be clothing (clan members found them and report they are working, tents I tested for myself.). It appears the respawn button seems to be disabled even when legs are broken. Zombie hearing seems to work, sometimes. One time I ended up dying after I shot a weapon, and got surrounded by a gazillion zombies. On another time i shot right on the area of a few zombies and only a few agroed. Seems the problem is the crawlers (for what I noticed), in some angles they ignore the shots, while the walkers were all over me. Thanks for a cool update. Hope you are getting a lot of valuable data from the recent logs. -

It worked for me. Thanks for the info. Trying it. Seems good so far. haven't got any chance of testing the tents yet since the server I use has not updated yet. will give feedback when I can. -

Rocket said a few pages back, that for now they are just collecting Data. The mechanics will be improved, and will of course take that into account.

You don't actually do it, but you fantasize about it... Usually your project manager when he comes with some.. ahem.. bright new ideas. Or some clients if you work directly with them. Like one a few months ago. Who said the program I'm working on said it would need to predict if he (the user) would want to declare production on the factory a couple of hours later and leave enough parts on the line if the normal user send the parts back to warehouse. So now aparently programs need to read minds as well. @Rocket - Maybe you need to make DayZ read minds and spawn where the player is thinking. :P

First of all, I did not attack you. So I apologize if you feel "attacked". Second, you say I attack you, and then you say i'm "a kid that lives in my moms basement"? Nice one, good work on that consistency. As a developer myself, it is just tiring to see the same issue brought up a thousand times, when it was answered before, only you did not even went to the trouble of searching or even glancing at some of the pages, as this issue was brought up quite a few times. Rocket is one of the most community friendly developers. Most developers don0t even go to the forums, Rocket reads almost every reply. He is not a 1.000 developer army. He too has a life, and a family, and hobbies. Fixes will come for this mod, they may take a while, or some only come in a stand alone version due to some of Arma 2 engine limitations, something totally out of control of Rocket. There was already an answer about this on another topic I think. The helis are being fixed, they just need to do some proper testing so it doesn't break something else. No ETA on this moment though (as far as I know). (Could be wrong on this, there are so many topics and he-said she-said one could get lost) First, War Z isn't a game. You can play Day Z, but for War Z, all you have is some announcements and a few pretty screenshots. That's it. Second, yes development is slow because the Dev team is really really small, but remeber, DayZ isn't a game also, it's a mod. And for now it's really just a stepping stone for something still in the hush hush part of the interwebz. (Come on Rocket we need shiny screenshots!!) :P

And if it was just a player who just logged in the first time? Would he be killed as well without even knowing where from? They are trying to see what can be done. But this idea is quite bad for imersion in my opinion. Besides it was already discussed earlier in the thread. please read the thread.

Oh for the love of god, read the thread. He is working on it. For now there will just be a test logging system, to get data on what those assholes are doing. After quite a few data is collected, (by the way you guys play, a few days) then there will be time to test solutions to this.

All you have to do is disable dayz, and not "fiddle" as you say. Again, this is a mod, it alters thebase game. If you want to play the base game, then you disable the mod. It's not that difficult to understand. The problem is not the mod. The problem is DayZ will be turned into a more independant product. This would lead to bans for this product in several countries, and that is not really the main issue either. The main issue as I see it, is the "bad press", and legal problems that Rocket would have to face, in a bunch of countries, because of some people with mental problems (not mentally challenged, there is a big difference) that keep going untreated and undetected that decide to create all kinds of havok, some of wich are still very present in the minds of a few of you guys. I'm pretty sure Rocket does not want to spend half of his life, trying to dodge "bullets" that will surely be fired against a game so popular as DayZ. So to sum up your answer, the mod and the present is not the issue, the future of the project and Rocket is. A sick relative being mugged while on fire...? Where the hell do you live?? Chernarus? :P BTW Rocket just a thought. I think you guys should be pushing for the server updates harder. I know it's a server provider issue, but a lot of connects and disconnects, hive queries for the players status (condition and items), and also quite a few bugs I believe, come from all the fragmentation in the server part. Also, updating servers would automatically ensure that clients would also need to update, or would not be able to join the game. Of course it's something not for next week but for the future, but something along the lines of an auto updater that would be supplied to the server providers, could be part of the solution of the server sided fragmentation, that would make a chain reaction to the client side as well and they also would need to update. And with all the server hopping trying to find a server with the right version, maybe a few (probably minimal) gains in performance on the hive side, on all the status querying I mentioned above. I'm sure you know all the problems that Android has experienced due to heavy fragmentation, and a lot of devices using old versions even a couple of years out of date.

So from what I can make out, your saying the logging system is not only for log-ins and log-outs but to activity on the server as well? (Hacked weapons, teleports, spawnings etc) Yes, there would probably be some issues with that, but somewhere along the line people need to understand this is a game, and not real life. I've seen minors playing this game (as so many other games, I've seen 5 year olds play GTA IV) as this game is clearly not intended for children. People need to start being responsible for them and their children and stop blaming everything on video games. Oh god please don't. The random spawns are part of the fun. One could spawn, if on a group, at some beacon location inside the groups camp or something, but only limited to once. Example, I create a new char, I spawn on the beach somwhere. I make my way up to my groups camp, and activate the spawn beacon thingy. Next time I spawn, I will spawn there at camp (like a descendant of my last character). I then would have to activate the beacon again, or else if I died in the new character without activating the beacon, i spawn back at the coast. All that for a garbled ID issue. Well that's software development. Hope you can get it confirmed before the patch is released. +1 Helicopters don't fit the mod? How come? And for the L84, your argument is invalid, as just yesterday i killed a guy when he was using and L84, while at night, with a simple m16. It's all about tactics, and adapting to the situation. So i guess everything goes now. They can't use password so now they just kick people outright? It wasn't by ping, because i had the lowest of them all, and you can see in the first screenshot, it was sistematic, always kicked right away. Enlighten me on something. Doesn't respawn kill you caracther and lose everything? Why would someone want to do that then?

Yes, and no. Specially on this sentence :" - Start as a field soldier, and as such with a weapon, have better performance with firearms" Every one would just spawn and start killing each other, turning this into a deathmatch. But yes I agree there could be some room for customization, but not as agressive. Something on the lines of: Medic : 2 extra medic suplies slots, can heal himself and others. Civilian: start with different supplies, like the flashlight (since it's really a domestic item no reason for military to carry that around) and an extra 2 slots for canned food. Soldier: can carry one extra side arm*, with 2 more slots for ammo. *not equiped, but he could have a extra space exclusive to a side arm, and 2 clips. Something just to give it more depth, but not too much as to unbalance the game.

Did not know about the perma-aggro thing, thanks for that. I only play for two days, still one time I managed to have lots of food, water and a AKM with 3 full mags and a revolver with 4 full "clips" (do not know the name in english, i know it's not clips). And i got all that using one thing only. Flares. So if I may, leave a piece of advice. I may be wrong, but flares seemed to work better at night (or maybe i just learned to threw them better). Log in to a server when it's dusk, almost night. You will still be able to see, but the visibility is reduced. That means flares work better, and you can still see where you're going. Dont's: DO NOT TAKE THAT FOR GRANTED, as the zeds tend to hear and see pretty good now, even if the visibility is 0, they will hear you and pick you off. DO NOT JUST LIGHT UP A FLARE, if you just light up a flare instead of throwing it, you're pretty much dead, since you're in the center of a beacon of light, fully visible. DO NOT THROW FLARES AT YOUR OBJECTIVE, remember, flares are suposed to distract, so if you throw them where you want to go, you may be able to see better, but you also will be seen better. Do's: CRAWL! ALWAYS! As was well said by the OP, crawl, just crawl. You can run crawl pretty much anywhere near walkers, but in villages or cities, slow crawl will get you safelly where you need to go (most of the time) USE DISTRACTIONS, flares and smokes are your best firends right now, and flares you can find them pretty much anywhere now. Each flare "package" gets you 10 flares, so 1 will be enough for a while. Here's how I use them: - See my objective, crawling with zeds. - Turn mouse about 45º to right or left, throw flare just a bit farther than the objective. - Zeds follow - I crawl ou crouch (up to a point, then always crawl) around the other side, into the objective, grab the stuff and get out before they realize I was even there. Flares also have another porpuse, Flares atract bandits like hell, so the same technique can be applied. Throw a flare in some loot area, and if there are any bandits around, they will be drawn to it like zeds. If you play the path of the good guy like I do, just run like hell before he spots you. Sorry for the long text, just what I mainly do to survive. -

Pm sent. Tried last night to go at it alone, no dice. The fact that i'm new to Arma as well didn't help, now I know a few things, but last night i promptly threw a smoke grenade right at my feet after i found it (accidently) and then started running as hell out of there. Got killed in an instant. xD
