Excellent! This has been proposed before (I participated in a post on this matter in july I think), but the reactions were mostly negative back then. Looks like the opinions have shifted towards a wipe by now, which is good! Let's start clean again after the duping bugs have been fixed! -

Yes, it is possible. Me and my friends successfully saved and recovered a bus twice about 5000m from the treeline (in 1.7.2.5. btw). However, there seems to be a limit to that. Once we've tried to save a boat at the tiny island about 13km to the south east. We both respawned at the shore on the next log in, since these coordinates seem to be out of bound for saving. AFAIK they spawn in their original spawn locations (those marked in the online maps) after the server restarts if they are destroyed (or not saved). Otherwise there wouldn't be any vehicles left at their original spawns after a couple of hours, right? -

Actually I think that's pretty good. And the best thing is that the animations have already been created. Add a decent running animation for them and zeds would be fine! Wait... are there female zombies at 1:45? Edit: did I miss the minigun you were talking about?

How would you achieve that without electricity? BTW, I think one of the main aspects of this game is/shold be the feeling of beeing disoriented or lost. Introducing such a feature would move DayZ more towards GTA. -
I just found some of these and I have never seen this type of grenade before. I've searched the wiki and DayzDB, but grenades (except smoke grenades) are not included therein. Regular frag grenades are pretty common, but what about the RGO? Are they hacked, or have they been added in the last update? Are they supposed to be better than regular ones? The place I found them was rather strange: a UAZ in its regular spawn with everything broken, but there were 10 RGOs and 10 units of SVD ammo (!) in the trunk.

The server difficulty settings refer to certain game mechanics and whether they can be changed by the admin or not. Take a look at http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/server.armaprofile#Arrowhead. According to BI, the nameplates are disabled on veteran servers and cannot be enabled by the admins. But afaik zombie AI does not depend on the server difficulty settings, since there is no variable for that in this file.

Night-time playing without NVG

You should try playing at night after you died and do not have anything to lose anyway, but I suggest to play without the gamma workaround for the best atmosphere. Road flares are useful to light up whole villages for looting. 3 - 4 are enough for a whole village and zeds won't aggro (unless they see you if you pick up a flare what you shouldn't do). However, I didn't try venturing further to the north, since navigation is pretty challenging at night. -

They had some trouble with hacking this night, but nothing too serious AFAIK (instantly killing all zeds and messages, but no teleporting and thunderdoming afaik). After banning the hacker the admin made some strange announcements about banning some other players. Why? If scripts or hacking activities were detected, they should have been banned instantly and without warning (if not already banned by BE). -

True! Yesterday I was lucky enough to be sniped out of my pickup on a night server with 3 players (me included) at Stary. I've just become too careless on my nightly heli runs. -
It's good enough if it's good enough for you. My FPS sometimes drop below 20 as well, but it's still playable. You might try to: - disable post processing - disable anti aliasing - disable vsync - decrease resolution (3D) - decrease world & texture detail - turn off shadows See if it works

I was with MasterBlaster on the same server and was kicked for the same reason, as were all of the other 4 or 5 players on this server. This happened roughly at 12:44 AM (UTC+1) and it took about 5-10 seconds for all players to be banned (I think I was the last one). @ server admins: most likely it's not your fault, but it would be nice if you contacted battleye because of this. These battleye bans for no obvious reason have become just too common these days. It's extremely annoyng for the players and battleye should be made aware of that. -
RGO frag grenade = legitimate loot?

@Tobias on DE 752 last night: Good job disabling our bus and taking out me and both of my buddies between Komarovo and Kamenka (dunno if you did all that alone though)! Thanks for not hiding our corpses and leaving most of our loot in place. Interestingly, I had better gear shortly after my death than I had before cause i stubmled over a careless, meat-cooking wookie just behind the air control tower at Balota airfield I was about to loot! @Exxtazy (or Extazzy, I can't remember exactly): Thanks for the M4A3, NVG, rangefinder and your cooked meat! Next time you might want to look for a better place for you little ghillie-suited BBQ session than the couple of trees right next to the Balota ACT. -
+1 for the horses! They would compensate the missing vehicles and they would have to eat & drink from time to time, so no more hidden vehicles/horses outside of the map boundaries.
