I have had this happen sometimes too. It also happens with Arma 2 and Operation Arrowhead so I don't think it's dayz... I just ctrl-alt-delete into task manager and kill the Arma/OA process, I don't have a fix other than that sorry.
I used to get this problem with Arma 2/OA and setting *maximum pre-rendered frames* in the Nvidia control panel to 8 sorted it out. Maybe worth tweaking it up or down your case?
Yeah considering it says this in the dayz readme file: "On top of that during tests the server has given high bandwidth to players with pings ranging from 10 to 300+ meaning anyone can play and not slow the server down or feel at a disadvantage." Not sure if that refers to some kind of auto bandwidth allocation based on a player's ping or something...
I think the game needs some kind of natural night vision adjustment as in reality your eyes can adjust to ambient light levels after twenty minutes or so. Maybe something can be done wth HDR, I dunno but permanent absolute pitch dark at night is not realistic.
Yeah similar problem here only with cooked meat - if I log off with steaks in my inventory when I log back in some or all are missing. Stats and all other items are ok though.
Quoted from the Dayz readme: "On top of that during tests the server has given high bandwidth to players with pings ranging from 10 to 300+ meaning anyone can play and not slow the server down or feel at a disadvantage." I get kicked quite a bit because I have to use mobile broadband at the moment (no landline here).
