I've played on a night server a few times and I have had a bit more fun on them then when I was playing on day servers. Something about having to use the flares and such to see gives it much more atmosphere then when it is day.

This Game has different possibilities. We've seen People come up with their own ideas of how to play this game. I mean we have the Bandits, Survivors, Ones who want to lone wolf survive, the Clans, The Medics, People who help new people on the shores and people who take slaves. That shows that when giving space in a game people can come up with their own things. It doesn't have to be only Horror games that will be this immersive at all. You could have a game where you can marry people and the act of having to marry someone could make it immersive to the point where the person has to think about it, since we already make connection with NPC's in some games and can connect with them. I think it is possibly for it to happen but it is a long way off for it to the get to the point of it being achievable, that's all :)

Books and films at this present time are different to games because they can achieve something games cannot at this current point in time. Yes you can connected with a Character now but they aren't trying to talk about the simple thing of connecting with a character. They also mean connecting with it on a personal and emotional level to where you take the decisions as if it is You. That is what they mean by it is a Dream. These type of games wouldn't have a main character set in stone, You would create the main character. Dayz while you have a character and a free world in some aspect to do as you please, I feel it is not in depth enough to have the need to be censored. The only way I see a game being censored in anyway on any level is if they have some sort of shocking choice or option in the game, for example the ability to rape or physically abuse one's wife (In a game where you could marry someone for example).

Dayz has no reason to be Censored. Maybe a Survival Zombie Apocalypse game will come along and when you play it is like a dream. Where you will fully connect with the character/avatar you are playing and when you make a decision you have to stop and take it seriously because you treat that character as if it is YOU in a dream. That is what it is suggesting that they would want the games to eventually be like. But we are a long long way off anything like that. So I would say the title is still misleading :P

The title of the thread is very misleading since you aren't asking "Should DayZ be censored", you are more talking about the concept of games getting to the point where they have to be censored since games will inevitably get to the point of realism as it said in your link, as if it's a dream. I think eventually it might get to that point, but god knows when we would arrive at such a point. On a side note, that site is pretty damn good.
