The problem with this suggestion against removal or 0.001% chance of drop is that snipers don't need anything else, a bit of food, a bit of drink and they're happy to camp for hours/days.

I disagree with you. I think whilst a game is in alpha is the perfect time to point out improvements.

Aside from the fluff - you could have said: Reduce the health benefit of blood bags so people have to go to hospitals more often. I agree.

Well kicking has been part of server administration for some time. Yes it is open for abuse, but in my opinion I'd rather give the ability for persons who have taken the time and the cost to rent and provide a server, be given a tool to be able to play on it. Whether it is kicking for clan members or reserve slots. If this comes at the cost of a few spurious kicks from a pedantic admin, so what - you go and play on a different server. The system polices itself. Toss-pot admins soon become known, their servers lose players as the word quickly gets around. The flim-flam about you're not buying the game etc is utter tosh. All server files belong to the respective game maker. Lest you forget - without people hosting servers - the game would not exist.

This. A thousand times this. Just because someone wants to air a view about an aspect of the game doesn't mean that it isn't a valid opinion - just because you don't agree or it would affect an element of the game you play if implemented. Beans for you sir.

Thanks to everyone for keeping this on-topic and not turning it into a flame/bitch war. Obviously you're never going to please everyone. My honest opinion is that sniper rifles create an imbalance. Rather than promote PvP (which we know is a core part of the game) they hinder it. In my opinion PvP is where people have a fairly equal chance of taking each other out in combat, whereas a sniper rifle permits a player to kill, easily, without being spotted or engaged, subsequently negating PvP. SvP as it were. Considering that this occurs across games, it's an imbalance that has existed for some time and has never been adequately addressed by any game developer, despite some attempts to balance it. Thanks again.

Have tents been turned off for the moment whilst they sort out the bugginess of them? We've scoured oodles of supermarkets looking for one and found nothing. Appreciate the locations could have been raided first, but we must be talking 15-20 incursions now and not a single one.

I agree - but I think they are far rarer than the game caters for.

I agree with your sentiment and it's where CoD and BF have fallen down. The ubiquitous nature of sniper rifles, whereas in the real world - snipers make up a tiny percentage of armies, ergo there should not be many sniper rifles to find.

There's a flip side to that coin. If the most powerful players in the game are those that manage to find/bandit sniper rifles, there's going to be little PvP (in the true sense of the word) just a ton of people picking each other of over long ranges. We talk a lot on these forums about keeping the games within the bound of reality with regards to what players can and can't do and one thing I'm fairly certain of, no one would be a crack shot with different sniper rifles as soon as they pick them up. There's no learning curve built into it.

Please don't pirate it. Fraps is pretty cheap and if you buy it the guy gives access to any updates he produces. I've been using it for years and considering how many times he has updated it, it is excellent value for money. He's also very helpful if you have any problems running or using the program.
