This is one of the best posts regarding the server admin/admin abuse/cheaters topics I have read on these forums.

It's not as complicated as it sounds. Download your scripts.log file from cfgdayz/battleye folder and run it through the CheatFinder: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/42702-cheat-finder-script-parser-for-admins/ Check the lines it picks up against the lines in the log file - once you're happy create a text file, add each line per person you want to ban: aaaaabbbbbcccccdddddeeeeefffff -1 Reason for ban Obviously the GUID above is fake. You can add any text after the -1 you like, I tend to put "<player name> banned for cheating, contact Gogster to appeal" When you've finished append these lines to the end of the bans.txt file in the same folder and restart your server. It is time consuming.

Not really. DayZ is not unique - when CoD & BF > 2 were popular, we'd implement custom checks into PB and check the screenshots everyday. It's all part of being a server admin. You can host a server without doing it, but don't expect much sympathy when you come here moaning about the level of scripting going on. You have to be proactive. The police don't expect criminals to hand themselves in, they have to catch them.

Are they Grado headphones? You must have had some money at some point! Kudos to you.

Honestly, I've had Logitech G500, G700, Razer Lachesis, Mamba, Imperator, the RAT 7 has to be one of the most comfortable mice I've used. There's a noticeable accuracy increase over Logitech. It's not the prettiest, but you get used to it.

I've got to be honest, I've banned a lot of people off our servers, I missed this bit of the updated rules: I think this is where we have a problem. I've only had 3 people question me (privately by PM) about why they were banned off the servers. Now, all the other may have just sucked it up and gone to play somewhere else, as these are only local bans. However, it is a big enough job parsing the cheat files, checking them against the player list, verifying the use of a cheat script, copying them into a format that they can used on the servers - then physically uploading them and restarting. It may not sound like a lot, but across 3 servers, generating 50-75mb files every day, it's quite a work load. I'm not wiling just to let our servers go unchecked, but I can live without creating a post for every person I ban. Furthermore, as stated on numerous occasions, we have no private server admins forum - I really hate the thought of posting script names in a public forum. I know a Google search can pull up most information users would need, but anything that can keep script names away from people who are curious, I believe is a good thing.

Script checking is part of the solution and it's far more productive than moaning in this thread.

There's no quick fix to anti-cheat methods, every file has to be verified multiple times to ensure it is picked up correctly. Good work  -

A ban feature is not possible without running it on the server. @OP: I'd remove Loki in isolation and make the check "loki.sqf" -

I'm sure you're forwarding them to BE so they can be added to the checks? -

I would be very surprised if it doesn't. The biggest let down, for me, is the lack of admin available custom checks. -
Cheat Finder (script parser for admins)

Yeah it's a good move - it was quite telling, the number of dayz_disco entries pretty much matched the log-ins from when it began. Easy to see it's not people running it themselves. -
Current problem with Scripts.txt - ALL SERVER ADMINS READ
Gogster (DayZ) replied to Gogster (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Right - don't bother emailing them, fix here: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/70826-battleye-message-wtf/#entry675785 Unless it's not working for you? Then feel free to pester away. :D -
I meant to add - it's considerably larger than the original scripts.txt (24kb v 15kb) going to have a look shortly and see what's changed.
-
I just uploaded it and restarted the server...
-
Have you tried using the 3rd party tools like Six Launcher or DayZ Commander?

It may seem that way, but I have seen a distinct crop in cheats on our servers since banning the script runners. Personally I think the BE bypass is a myth to present a hopeless situation. -
Someone with a gun or melee weapon can be avoided, assuming your legs are not broken, you cannot avoid a sniper bullet.
-
Looks like it could be solved - the 24kb one supplied by jwiechers seems to up, stable and not being renamed.
-
Really? Stick US into the filter line: http://arma2.swec.se/server/list
-
Just looked - there is now a scripts.txt file in the BE folder. It has the openmap action set to 1 - I think BE may have updated this already as I didn't upload it.
-
I'll try it, but I reckon it's going to get renamed....

Current problem with Scripts.txt - ALL SERVER ADMINS READ
Gogster (DayZ) replied to Gogster (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
No, I'm saying they've implemented what they believe to be a solution but someone on these forums came up with a better one. We now need them to alter their default action and let the server admins, administer their servers. -
Has nothing to do with the original point. Sniping someone down a scope from 800 yards is hardly a fair fight. It's not specific to you, all snipers in this game are the same. They want the kills without any corresponding danger to themselves. Therein lies the problem with this being a "fair fight."
