Let me fish up some of my other posts on this. If you had "looked in the right places" to begin with, you would know that every Arma released to this date has always had problems with hackers. What it boils down to is the fact that the server-side trusts the client-side completely. Hence Battleye. And even Battleye is easy to defeat in its current state, and unless it gets altered a HUGE amount, as in, giving Arma 2 the option to completely block scripts, it will keep happening. Now you are just being an ignorant moron. Just because they designed a MOD for a game doesn't mean they have anything to do with security. They don't. You clearly have absolutely no idea how anti-cheat systems/the design of these systems work. Kindly stop your dribbling on the General chat. -

Actually if you look at other FPS, such as BF3, the kill command was very intentional, though it isn't a command persay for Arma 2, I can see the use of it from the MilSim stand point, such as resetting everyone. Also the fact this is mod is in Alpha has absolutely nothing to do with security, hackers, or anything even remotely close to it. -

Hello SharpEye. I am also from Australia, and I can tell you getting into the ANZ servers can be a pain. Luckily though, if you do join an American server that has 200 ping, it is still completely playable. You should give it a go sometime. When the ANZ servers are full up, my mates and I usually go to Atlanta 97. It seems to have the smoothest connection to us down here. Try it out :).

I should start a running tally in my signature of the amount of people posting on the forum about getting nuked. Perhaps then people would stop with the "Its not that common" spiel. Its becoming more common now, and it will keep picking up pace until Battleye actually fix their glaringly easy to fix problems. -

I know this because I myself am a coder, and I enjoy looking at others peoples hard work, looking how they have done certain things and such. Battleye works to an extent. Once a hack becomes detected, it will be "blacklisted" by Battleye and anyone found executing it will be banned by battleye, the current spate of skiddies will soon be banned and the coders out there will go on to find another way to circumvent Battleye. Unless they charge for it like some people, looking to make a quick buck. Thats why I fucking hate skiddies. Private hacks are released to a handful of people. Maybe 15 or some other low number. You see or hear about them ocassionally and that is it. But since some faggot decided to leak the private hack to the public, every 12 year old with their parents credit card can access the hack through a simple google search. The problem isn't with Battleye, its with Arma 2. Anyone can execute a script, Arma 2 is designed as a MilSim. Meaning, they need to be able to spawn helicopters, tanks etc to fit their needs. But this leaves it hugely vulnerable to hackers. Honestly, before DayZ, hackers were a problem to Arma 2, but not as bad as now. Most games were organised externally and passworded, whereas the huge influx of players to DayZ means that public servers are easily targetted by legit hackers and skiddies alike. You'll find that the people who code hacks generally just want to improve their own gaming experience, and not INTENTIONALLY go out of their way to ruin other peoples fun. Seeing all these servers getting nuked, people teleporting around destroying camps - Attracting attention to the hack, I can gurantee you thats not what the Creator intended. -

Ahh, Arma 2s netcode. You so pretty. There have been people developing third party programs that help you view/record/etc the log file, I wholeheartedly suggest you look into these if you admin a server. The fact of the matter is, in the war vs. Hackers, regular joe/server admin has no weapons whatsoever to fight with. In fact, if you adhere strictly to the rules that Rocket, or some genius in his team came up with, you are liable to blacklisting if you ban a hacker as he is doing it in game. Kinda sad to be honest. -

Actually, someone has devised a killplayer hack, which was included in a private hack that was recently leaked to the public. Hence the sudden spike in retard skiddies, showing themselves off to the world. Invincibility and player tracking via the map is also included. As is Artillery, nuking etc. Yay for us legit players right? -

How is this man "killing the game." I want you to give me 5 dot points as to why banditry kills on players is ruining the game. If anything, this game without the PvP aspect would have floundered and become incredibly stale within a few weeks. No, instead the game is 700k + strong, and only the vocal minority are the ones complaining day in, day out about it. Its starting to become pathetic now. I've been on the forums for maybe 2 weeks now, and there is a thread like this every 5 minutes. If you have nothing constructive to add to the "Pro PvE/Whiners/Anti-PvP" discussion, stop posting this dribble. Please, for all our sakes. -

Right, from what I read was this : We were in a group of 4, one of us got lost. We thought we saw our 4th, but they ended up shooting us. The way you have wrote it, it says to me the girl got lost and you were screaming for her to find you. Also, not sexist. Just my experiences with "girl" gamers. -

In the end we will just lose all the the "whiner/codkiddy/etc" playerbase to The War Z. Its the softcore version of this game, and that is what they are marketing it for, hence it being on console.

We have a girl that plays with us occassionally as well. She always lags behind and gets lost, constantly saying "I've lost you guys, wait up!" It's fucking annoying. Moral of the story : Don't have a girl in your group. -
100% yes. You said you were waiting for your cousin, who had just spawned right? Well right there, a bunch of free gear, including a primary and a secondary, probably a backpack and some food. You need to look out for you and your friends first, everyone else second.

My friend stumbled upon two players camping the road near the Balota airfield. He dispatched them quickly. Me and the other 4 in our group run up to where the bodies are. I go across the road into a bush as I abhor standing in the open near any type of main road. A player who either had Alt-f4d or the people had been waiting for him to spawn in, appeared out of nowhere and instantly open fire, he killed one person, turned to keep shooting at my other friends, and I zoomed my CZ right into his nose and blew his fucking head off. He did get a bullet into another of our group, but that damage was mitigated quickly. Lucky our friend spawned just outside Cherno on the coast, right next to us :). -
I use it because I can't hit shit with the iron sights. I need a scope of some sort. Plus on the fact that snipers, GENERALLY, do higher damage, it means I can kill an enemy quickly. PlusPlus - Sniper battles are amazing.
