two days ago me and a friend were hitting dear stands near polana when one of us glitches off the ladder and breaks his leg. "Shit my legs broke" he says in direct com then from somewhere we hear "hey do you guys need help" were looking around for this mystery guy and when i find him he's kneeling down in full gear dropping things on the floor for us. so i emptied a full clip of my g17 in his face. he had nvgs, maps, compasses, an as50.... but then some real crazy shit happened. a weird explosion goes off and breaks both our legs but does no other damage, the mans gear wont transfer and then we get kicked from the server. balls. -
So I've been thinking over an idea for a while lately. My Idea is for a bunch of survivors, not necessarily completely against killing as things would need to be protected to set up a trading post withing the Zub walls on a server, which people could come in and use to gain items they need. another possible location is devils castle as it is better to defend but anyway. Basic Idea is to make a tent village within the compound of the walls which will then be protected by this team of people, obviously the team will have to have a variety of players on so that it can be manned 24/7. The tents get filled with all the loot we can find, people are kitted up and if they are killed their loot is saved for them on their return. every item in the game is given a monetary value and can be traded for other items that equal that monetary value. the items would be split into tiers to stop junk being swapped for great items for example (i've just made up the values for now) Low Tier Beans = 200 Soda = 150 Watch = 800 Chem light = 100 Makarov = 2000 Medium Tier Binoculars = 4000 M16 Mags = 2000 Blood Pack =3000 High Tier Vehicle = 18000 GPS = 20000 NVG = 22000 obviously to do this would require refinement of the idea, a dedicated team to protect the server from bandits and a fair price on items that ends up increasing the stock of the trading post, therefore benefiting the people who run it. opinions/ people who want to do it please post My steam id is ribano_182 ps. we'd finally have a use for road flares to light this place up!

i think fort friendly needs to be a no guns tolerated except for the guards of which there should only be like 6.

lower all weapons on approach and hold a chemlight so no-one can mistake you for a hostile!, don't fire weapons on the way, if there are zombies let the guards take them out

why dont you guys set up an entrance with a fuck load of chemlights in it, friendlies pick up a chemlight and hold it as they're coming in, that way they cant be armed and theyve marked themselves as friendly

nope no tents as of yet. we will have to begin by looting and fortifying and then stockpiling, we will find a server to suit us and "adopt it", ill add you later when i'm on though :)

as long as you bring appropriate items to trade to get your items back once you die :)

with the massive amount of bullshit suggestions being chucked around i cant see rocket implementing anything like that in the near future, so i'm trying to organise a way to do it ourselves. Freetrade is one such example that it can work. with a big enough squad it could be done, as for the eventually you will be attacked, i completely agree. that is why choosing a place like devils castle gives the guards the upper hand. and people will have to hold a flare or something on approach, otherwise they'll be taken out.

there are parts of this post that show real promise in my opinion and they are: animals sometimes attack when approached, and definitely attack if harmed and not killed immediately. i'd also make it that they can be spooked and flee, so that hunting becomes a more covert and stalking operation. pet dogs (not horses or cats for the reason that cats cant really be trained and horses would just look ridiculous if people were riding them imo) - but! training dogs to be able help you hunt, for instance, you see a boar and if you aim in on him you can scroll wheel to "set dog on boar" or somthing, and then the dog can attack and cause the boar to run to you or the dog could kill it himself. for the dog i'd make it have a mini version of the humans HUD, if he bleeds you have to bandage it, if he loses blood you have to feed it etc. the longer you keep it and the more attacks it does, the stronger its attacks become against animals and the less chance it has of scaring the animals off in the wrong direction. Sanity - not yet convinced but the idea of losing your pet/companion would be horrible so maybe it could work. i'd also make it that if you have a tent and you die, your pet returns to your tent ( but that might just be me not wanting them to die haha)
