  2. hi, i was playing on a (mostly) vanilla server (fr129) and killed a guy. he then announced my name in side chat and told everyone i killed him. how did he find out it was me? i didn't talk to him and wasn't killed in days... nameplates are off on this server. also i did shoot him in the back, he should not have seen me at all. thx

    this game looks so unfluent and laggy, is that kind of desync/unhit thing normal in SA? feels just wrong to see you circle 3 guys unable to shoot you...

    i would love to have a more in-depth firemaking system. -matches are stockable up to like 30-40 in one box. -you find boxes with 0-10 matches left and collect them -making fire costs 1-6 matches (at random - or better depending on weather e.g. while raining it costs 5-6 matches, shortly after rain 2-4 and while sunny 1-3) -having a piece of paper reduces matches needed by 30% -having a book reduces matches needed by 60% something like that :)

    at the moment it only takes up so many inventory slots carrying all that meat. regarding availability of food, if you know where to hunt it's no problem. for my taste food spawns could be even a little bit lower. and animals could be faster so you'd have to shoot them :) did anyone (halfway experienced) actually die of starvation?

    food system is great, my suggestion for tweaking the values would be (as someone mentioned already): double the amount of "calories" all food gives + reduce food spawns by 50% or something like that. see how that works out and go from there with little adjustments to the spawn rate.
  9. i played for some hours on this server. something is wrong with zeds, there don't spawn enough of them. it was always like 10 players - 15 zeds total. even with a few guys in cherno. also, admin (kol) what was going on with the teleporting? btw "tweaked and better" = no vanilla anymore.

    are you sure? i always thought i was destroying stashes when i hit them many times with the axe and they go black and flat on the ground... in 1.8.3 it takes about 70 hits with the axe to be "destroyed" and inaccessible ( i didn't check if they are restored after restart though). a satchel/pipe bomb does the same.
  11. thx for the long answer. i agree with most of your points. but 1. why make zeds easier if you want to make a hardcore server? vanilla is already easy: indoor zeds no problemo, outdoor zeds -> hide in bush. done. no taking hits while running. all zed fear comes from pvp alert. 2. 3rd pro: more freedom of view in reality, compensation for that ingame. 3rd con: look around corners, lay on rooftop all day, no risk vs. reward. (and that in a "military sim realistic hardcore anti-game" lol) 1st pro: way more intense gameplay, high risk vs. reward (he can see me if i peak around the corner) 1st con: its much harder than 3rd. probably fitting best for hardcore servers. i like the readjusted loot system. and me seeming narrow minded comes from the fact that i like the settings except for the zeds (+3rd) :) anyhow, thx for your work. i will try the server again when it's up.
  12. so how do "Zombies that are actually a problem" and "...they walk..." fit together? seriously is this a joke? no offense man but wtf lol i was expecting smth like faster zeds, more damage, less loot when i read hardcore. and hoping for 1st only... and btw usual zombies dont hit you if you're not new to the game. /rant over, sry for the whining, i got my hopes up for a real hardcore server...

    happened to me too when i played on the jarhead hardcore server. server desc sais it's vanilla + antihack... rejoining brought the drink option back. also i had a chemlight in hand when this happened.

    i have noticed zeds are doing their aggro sound sometimes even they're not aggroed. and sometimes no aggro sound when they get aggro on you. (don't know if that was always the case but i think not) this is confusing and doesn't fit in with their main purpose as a player indicator ;-)

    imo the main thing about zeds is that they should be able to hit you while running. that creates a "i'm never save" feeling which you don't get if you know you're save while running. after all you can hide in the next bush/tree and kill them with no risk at all. a good compromise imo would be: -keep the 3.6 hit range -lower damage, bleeding rate, infection rate etc. basically 1.8.2 zeds with 3.6 hit range. it seems no matter how easy zeds are there always will be some ppl crying about them. but that is a good thing as zeds should be a threat and the whiners will adapt eventually... same old story. personally i find the 1.8.1 zeds were to easy already after adapting for a few weeks.

    just played on musty server, jumped off of firestation top 5 times, no damage at all. + exhaustion bug as mentioned before. seems like much loot overall, easily cycled/renewed. zeds can't hit anymore^^

    i've died once since the update (not because i'm pro but because i don't play much) and it was because of infection. i decided not to kill myself although i was near cherno and the struggle to survive was one of the best dayz experiences i've ever had. eating everything i found, searching the city for wipes/ABs like a mad man, passing out, waiting to go to the hospital because of players while passing out, careful to not aggro zeds because of passing out and so on... amazing. i whish this value of the character would be given at any time and no easy sk cause kamenka spawn etc. was possible. only things i can think of to encourage hanging on to your life (probably poor ones) are a respawn timer (e.g. 15 min wait befor respawn after death) and/or not be able to loot your own body. all in all i'm very happy whith the direction the mod is heading to. thx for the effort.

    i don't get it, what's the big deal of losing the hive? no more ghosting, farming on empty servers, probably less hackers and easier to find friends. good admins/servers will stand and shitty ones fall. what do we lose? the ability to transfer caracters between the 5 remaining servers? that would be positive for me... or do i miss something?

    to counter the hiding in trees/bushes way of dealing with zeds outside. to make them at least a little bit of a factor/challenge in this zombie apocalypse game. to stop ppl from ignoring them. to benefit the stealthy way of playing instead of running around. there are ways to avoid beeing knocked down. also max hit range is 3.6m, theoretically no zed should hit you from further away and i have never seen such thing. i know everyone has different preferences... i just think it's more exciting this way and better fits a zombie game if zeds are feared a bit. the 1.8.1 zeds are already kind of an "easyfied" version thx to the easymode ppl (no offense). this is my opinion on zeds.. others have different ones
