To the poor guy I killed in Stary Sobor

Cool story bro. I liked the part about the cat.
  2. I usually watch the person for atleast a few seconds before making a move. Unarmed, I won't shoot - No threat to me. It's a big map. But anyone with a gun you really can't trust. Just because they have a Makarov doesn't not make them a douche, same for the unarmed. Also, if they have good gear then maybe it's worth the risk. I'm sure they have their means of acquiring that gear anyway. Edit: In my experience I find engaging someone to be more dangerous then not engaging them.

You know you play DayZ too much...

Driving home from work and certain scenery reminds you of DayZ (live in the country).
  4. Awesome job. Now these are the players I do not wish to help. You never know when you might be helping a troll without a gun. But it's just too hard to tell. Really good story though, keep it up. :)
  5. Good luck, you'll need it. The last time I said 'friendly' was the time a full AK mag was unloaded into me, with the kid on the other end of it shouting in a stupid voice 'hows this for friendly motherfucker!'. A compilation vid would be interesting to watch lol.
  6. It's good to know there are good people out there. Hopefully I don't end up shooting one of them for pure uncertainty :(

    WTF is this!!!

Yes, it is possible to sneak passed them. However, I think it's easier sprinting passed them then losing them by running into a building. Your choice.

are zombies really the main threat?

Players are by far the main threat, once you've figured zombies out they're nothing. If I could go through Cherno, NWAF or Stary without worrying about other players it would be too easy. Bandits make the game far more intense. When I say bandits I mean actual bandits.
  9. I don't know what situations you are referring to, but camping on a hill outside a town sniping everyone down (loot not being a factor) is hardly realistic. Killing an armed guy that surprised you, sure that seems realistic enough. Also, realistically you have a far better chance of survival teaming up rather than lone wolfing it. But then again it depends on what stage of the game it's in. Perhaps the forming groups stage has passed, now it's mainly figuring out whether the guy wielding an axe in the supermarket is a friendly or a psychopath, hell who cares lets shoot him anyway! And fuck, we have no idea what it would be like in some sort of 'zombie apocalypse' until one actually happens (highly doubtful). So it's all speculation and ones opinion versus another. Also, I laugh at the notion that some people say they would kill on sight like it's a stroll in the park. You'd crawl up into a ball and be hiding in yo momma's closet. As stated, simply my opinion though.
  10. Watchout guys we have a badass over here.

    Stranded on a rooftop....

Climb down the ladder and bolt for the nearest building/object to lose LoS. If you can find a building with two entries that would be perfect. You should lose any on your tail fairly easily that way. Then hopefully you can stroll away like nothing ever happened.
  12. Sadly this will prolong your life in DayZ. I try not to kill people, especially in Cherno or Elektro. I may try to take on geared players because more than likely they have their gear for a reason. Usually my first reaction is to run rather than shoot, admittedly it has gotten me killed. I don't find killing newbs in the two cities fun or amusing, nor does it give me a sense of accomplishment. I'd much rather hunt down bandits, but it's just too hard to tell...Was it a kill in self defense? As for survivors, well, every bandit has to start somewhere. Their murder count may be 0 for now. I feel I have gone off track: Agreed, this mind set will help you survive, perhaps at the expense of innocent lives, but survive none-the-less.
