    Killed by a hacker?

You always hear the bullet that kills you. If not the shot itself then at the very least the sound of it hitting you. I have yet to die from a shot I wasn't aware of and I've died... well, a lot.

    Does Anyone Actually Like...

I like playing at night if I by chance end up on a server where it's not completely pitch black. I like the added elements of stealth and being able to kick a zombie in the back without it knowing where I am. It does, however, complicate finding loot in houses and other buildings, unless you've played long enough to know where all the loot spawns are.

I know why it is called Dayz

A brand new account, just to post that? Nobody's going to buy the DLC as a result of your post here, you know. Find a more appropriate place for your advertisement.

    Not your usual alt+f4 thread

Do you really need us to tell you it's okay though? Will whether or not we deem it 'okay' change whether you disconnect or not?

Last night I killed a man.

A story well told. Good job for entertaining us!

    FR45

They're doing it because they can. And because they, most of the time, get away with it.
  7. This. And as others have said, people will be people. Some prefer playing by the book while others get a kick out of watching you die. You can stay clear of the bigger cities for as long as you'd like but you're bound to run into a player sooner or later. Just try not to be too bothered by it if you get killed, no matter what you're carrying.

    This is getting old...

Anyone else noticed the hacker calling himself Rocket? His selection of music was spot on though.

    Are helicopters still spawning?

I've found 5 crash sites in two days. And this coming from someone who before that hadn't seen a single one since he first started playing DayZ.
  10. You couldn't possibly be more dull.

I've had enough dying. So now I kill.

Most people start out thinking they'll behave like a good guy. Most of them wake up.
  12. Starting with no weapons is perfectly reasonable and I like that. As far as the chat goes, people never honestly replied to the question "friendly?" anyway so I can't say it bothers me not to have that option either.

    Barbed wire everywhere...

A few days back, I was running through Cherno with a bunch of zombies on my tail. Figured I'd head to the church and line them up for easy shots. The entire entrance was blocked by barbed wire. Thanks to whoever did that. <)
  14. Yeah, it certainly is a hell of a lot more exciting now than it was only a few weeks ago when you could practically write swear words with your fingers on a zombies back without them noticing you. It's a welcome challenge!

    First day done

You don't really need to venture into larger cities for food and water. Search smaller buildings like gas stations for a hunting knife and a hatchet. Once you've found that, all you need is matches (usually found in offices or similar types of buildings) and a water bottle, and you can live in the woods for as long as you want to, without ever having to even look at Cherno again. Good on you for not being too fussed about dying your first time around though. That's a lot more than I can say for most of the people I've played with.

    whats with punishing bandits?

I fail to see why there should be any advantages or disadvantages to killing players. It's a game. Why are people taking it so seriously?
  17. aHzdaNny

Being revived? good idea or bad?

It would ruin the whole point of fighting to stay alive. As long as you're not playing on your own, you'd be a whole lot less careful with your actions if you knew you could get revived.
  18. I've often bumped into people who would stand and look at me for two seconds before deciding to shoot me in the face. Don't trust anyone you don't know.

    elektro hospital window wouldnt break

Sometimes the exact window you're shooting at isn't the one that breaks. But yeah, like others have said, you can find loot (blood bags, pain killers, morphine, bandages, etc) in boxes without even shooting or actually entering the hospital which could potentially be a matter of life and death if you're playing on your own.

    Zombies are OP ATM

I don't get how I manage to X my way past a load of zombies in the warehouse between Kamehka and Balota without being spotted by the handful of zombies I crossed within only a few meters, while a single zombie started chasing me from more than 100 meters away on a hill outside Cherno, simply because I was running in a normal fashion and wasn't ducked. I'm all for stronger and more challenging zombies but the difference really shouldn't be THAT significant.

    worth dying and restarting?

I've simply come to terms with not taking the game too seriously. If I spend hours on end sneaking around, looting houses and what not, I'll be fairly upset upon dying. That's what I used to do for the most part. Now, I don't try as hard and - ironically - manage to live longer. As for whether or not getting killed on purpose is the answer, it always depends on what you're carrying at the time and what your location is. Most items can be re-stocked in an hour or two if you know where to look.
  22. Nobody's walking around shooting each other in their goddamn face because whether you do or not isn't a question of life or death. Perhaps I'm being paranoid, or perhaps I've simply watched a few too many movies, but something tells me you'd have serious issues surviving in a post-apocalyptic world. I rarely kill players myself, unless I have a reason to do so (significant loot) but I understand why it's a part of the game.
