Decided to jump on DayZ after losing a 10+ day alive character a few days back. Accidently click the wrong server, login into darkness, in a barn, 4/50 players online, and theres a good 6 bodies just in a casual circle around a CZ550. Just made me chuckle a bit :P Somebody must of had there fun

please tell me more about your server hopping, and then hoarding on a near deserted server.

Get good means... stealth, check the hills for snipers, be carefull, avoid windows, carry your our long range rifle, get a mate for overwatch, shoot for disables (ie, leg shots, or low caliber chest shots)... ie. get good at game mechanics, this game involves dicks that shoot first and snipers, so learn to counter that

Get good at the game and stop crying? or go and play War Z....

You guys do know that this is just painting targets on the head of anybody that moves near sniper spots.

So basically, you and your boys are gonna walk up to me, go "hey mate, are you a bandit", il go " no of course not..." whip out my m4a1 cco. and bam! you and your three mates are dead

Take my camps and i will seriously hunt your ass. i carry enough ammo to kill 30-40 people on my person so....

I was shooting in berezino last night, cant remember but it was US something, but... all my targets had rifles or snipers, fair game if you carry anything scoped on your back :)

Someone shot you, they went to the effort to kill you like that - give them that, they may have been dicks about it but if your really that worried about meds and not dying on the coast sprint to Berezino and use the hospital there :/

this happened to me today, but. when i died with the new character and I hit re spawn - I appeared back with my old character where id left him Seems like during hot fixes and possible de-syncs the server is sometimes creating a separate entity instead of loading the old one.

Performance doesnt always = fps....

So I was playing in the early hours of the morning and its still slightly dark in game, casually creeping my way along the tree line North of Prig so I can start to scout out the 2 Medium value/ 1 High Value barns possibly for a scoped rifle/ammo and in the distance I can see 3 dark shapes slowly moving, At the time I only had a Lee Enfield and an Ak-74(in my pack) so i didn't particularly want to get into a firefight with 3 people with little cover. However, they cut straight towards the barns I wanted to loot and too far to communicate with direct comms I moved into a position to take them down while they crossed the low ground from the bridge towards the first cluster of houses. I shot the first guy at around 300 Meters with the Enfield, He died instantly too a headshot and the two others instantly leapt up and sprinted. What was weird though, instead of making for the cover of either 3 barns, several houses or even the low lying shrubs and stone fences, they sprinted across from me directly to the trees with no return fire even though it was pretty obvious I was along the the nearest Tree line somewhere. I put the second guy down at about 220 meters as he was sprinting with a shot to the legs( He eventually bled out, he must of fallen unconscious) and the third guy continued his strange line to get out of my field of fire... directly into the trees, I put a few shots into the trees behind him but didn't chase, I'd gotten them out of the way with the benefit of possibly more medical supplies from the bodies and free reign too loot the barns after one more sweep of the area. My questions for you guys though: a ) Would you of shot them, are three barns worth blowing away 2 survivors? b )Should I have chased the last guy (His loot was unknown at the time, he moved too quick to get a good view) c ) If a sniper in an unknown position takes a shot at you, first reaction? and tree line or a nearby barn that's fully enclosed?

What have you been doing, sprinting through towns? It still is possible, just use some common sense and pick your path through them from a distance.

Because they need to test things.... (And we gave you constructive criticism so look up some guides -> and... wait for it.... Practice surviving.) Rocket didn't ask for 400K players to rock up and start playing all of a sudden, they just did. The mod doesn't actually need any more unique players to test things, it just needs time to test them and then flatten out any bugs so that it can slowly get to a readily playable stage.

Grab your mates, and get them to explain things to you as you go :) It is incredibly daunting to start with but it becomes a lot easier once youve got the hang of the basics. 1.7.2 also wasn't the best time to start playing due to a whole range of changes and the overtuned state of Zombies at the moment.

-> 3 and 4 are good, however it is alpha and the perma aggro is extremely buggy at the moment, spend several days in game playing around zombies and you get used to the over sensitive nature. *also, Zombies are so easy to lose now through trees or even a few buildings and a fence. *and, Again Weapons are not *THAT* hard to find. people forget there is more to the map then just the coastline - If you literally ran inland for 10minutes most deer stands have guns and if you cant stand that run to Vysotta... i walked into a barn earlier today and found 3 Double-Barrelled Shotguns TL:DR . Play more of the game, rack up some bandit kills, learn to search deer Stands without aggroing Zombies around them, Read the wiki, watch guides, practice. And wait till the mod comes out of Alpha.

Good chance that you got shot in the head from more than 5-6 hundred meters.
