The #1 mayor is back in town !
Napoleon Solo replied to Napoleon Solo's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Today was a shameful night. Our hero had cleared out Kamyshovo again, helped a survivor battle some zombies, who in turn helped our hero when he ran out of ammo. The other adventurer was quiet and didn't tell his name or anything at all for that matter, but he followed N. S. through the wilderness. We made our way to a castle and looted it. When we were done, there was uzi-like gunfire outside. Or was it a Winchester? "Bandits ahead" someone shouted, at which point he was shot. Inside the tower Solo prepared for the worst and guarded the tower entrance with his rifle. He heard someone open a pepsi and in the darkness, through the door, he saw something move, he opened fire. The target was hit, it fell to the ground. Our hero moved forward to see if he had caught a bandit, but to his great despair, there on the ground was his companion ! I sincerely want to apologize for this whoever you were. I did not mean to do this, and out of shock of this atrocity I didn't take any of your things, I just disconnected. There really has to be better means of identification. Personalized outfits for every slot or anything. Just, something better than now. Despite this moral setback our hero is still on the plus side thanks to all the good stuff he has been doing but he wishes to apologize for this really shameful display. -
Footage of being a Bandit

They are young and confident. - An easy match for the swift justice of the great Napoleon Solo ! -
No, you are taken out of the game while logged off.

I encountered a bandit newbie killer on a roof in Elektro. As soon as he realized he was spotted he changed position, but I got him on a hill right outside town. He had some great stuff on him. Too bad the stats didn't save.
-
Same in two servers. NO 2 and DE 2.

!!!!Main server does not save..!!!
Napoleon Solo replied to Dr Klunk's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yes. I confirm. NO 2 and DE 2 both didn't save any data. -
Where can you find your stats outside the game? I.e. searchable leaderboards or something like that.

ArmA2 is installed on your HD . Find your Steam folder - defrag that HD. SSD - Solid State Disk. They are much faster than normal mechanical HDs.

The #1 mayor is back in town !
Napoleon Solo replied to Napoleon Solo's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It appears, that our hero, Napoleon Solo foolishly found himself awake well past the brink of night without any flares or other means of lighting up his surroundings. The feet felt water. To his great surprise he must have walked in his sleep. After taking a sip out of the ocean, most distinguished citizen Napoleon proceeded solo towards the closest town, found some flares, and cleared it out single handedly. However he took some minor damage and got surrounded by some thirty hungry savage Zs in a barn. Zombies hit him through the walls. He had to fight for his life, but badly wounded he struggled, wiped them out, and managed to survive. He made it to a nearby forest. There our hero was robbed by two highwaymen who desperately stole a can of beans and an empty revolver from his backpack. Solo was completely unaware of this "feature", but despite this temporary setback, our great hero is strenghtened and lives on to see a dawn of justice breaking. -
If you are a bandit, you will arguably have great trouble surviving Solo.

As it's permanent death, your aim and everything else is very important. Everything less than 60 FPS just isn't acceptable. I lowered all my graphics settings (aside from AF and resolution) to an absolute minimum. Game looks like shit, but you get used to it, and it isn't really a problem as other things are more important. You should also defrag your ArmA HD. But essentially, beyond a point the FPS is limited by your CPU (though what CPU can run the second ARMA benchmark at 60 fps?). One of my cores is maxed out at 100% when I play DayZ, not sure about the FPS though, but feels like 35-40. GPU might still bottleneck FPS if I look at trees from a close range. SSD is said to improve texture load times greatly.

Why shouldn't morale be in a milsim? It's an important factor in warfare. Yes, I like the idea with the well thought out examples, it gives incentives to the sit by fire behavior. Otherwise there's no good reason for it.

Sure, but what safety precautions would that be? Not teaming up at all? There may be some psychos around who kill just to kill because they are bored, but still, killing someone for stuff is just either greedy or stupid. A person is more valuable to you alive. Maybe we need a hall of shame, you know, rumours spread :D

The #1 mayor is back in town !

So far so good, It looks like avoiding unecessary player encounters is the recipe towards a long and rich life. I'm organizing a squad of do-gooders that share my great vision of being generous to the good while being ruthless to the evil. Today two companions died honorable deaths defending a car wreck from local bandits. The culprits were sentenced to taste lead and didn't escape the wrath of Napoleon, alive. Of course. So, after a day in the wilderness, Napoleon Solo rides on. His excellent quest to bring an end to atrocity and decadence continues. Signed, Napoleon Solo -
Scrap only if we can identify people somehow. Maybe from 10m. It's hard to tell who's who. Karma system is good though. Like you get some title or extra if you do good/bad.

The Official Unofficial Bandit Removal Petition
Napoleon Solo replied to The Killing Joke's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
With friends and foes having the same skin it's impossible to know who's who. Many servers disable the name tags (good, because I don't want to see hidden people and so on), but there has to be a way of identifying people. More clothes in that case. -
They need people to test it live. A small beta test team doesn't present the same challenges of optimization and so on
