Well there's really not much they can tell us because they are probably polishing out the bugs so they could get the alpha out already. I don't think they're adding more stuff in it yet. When alpha is released then that's the time they would add the new stuff so we could comment/criticize on them. -

I will just summarize this if you don't mind. Motion capture is for ALL the movement in-game. I cannot answer when they will stop the motion capture because I am not part of the development team. -

I'm sorry to say that in will not be released this month. Mid to end of July would be my best bet. -

To defend Rocket on this one, he already made plans to go to Everest and paid for it in advance. You wouldn't waste a once in a lifetime goal. Might I ask why you are so eager to play the standalone? There are tons of other games out there you know. -

As much as I also want to play the standalone already, we can't hurry up the progress. It is up to Rocket at this point. All we can do is wait and focus our time elsewhere. -
Underground bases are planned for the standalone but it won't be in the alpha. You should follow the standalone development if you want to know more.

It adds a level of difficulty for me actually because currently in the mod all the zeds do is run at you and you can easily outrun them and lose them eventually.

Don't expect it to run constantly at 60 when in big cities though. We'll find out when we get there.

Yes I do realize that 1.7 players is the total number of people who bought the game from day one. Maybe you are right, but there are many DayZ players who stopped playing the mod and are just waiting for standalone. A few friends of mine are not even mod players but they will be getting standalone. We shall see how many will play it when it comes out.

Yeah, it will add that certain challenge and authenticity to it. :D Especially on how you can't consume colas 24/7.

I said that because you said there are very little stuff when the alpha release which is true. The good thing with an alpha is that they can continue to add those things that you mentioned that were missing.

Okay lets say 500 thousand players, still pretty far from the 1.7 million DayZ players. Rocket has said that they will be updating the alpha every week to add new stuff in it. Please do some research, Gummy.

Currently there have been 1.7 million people who have played the mod. Having a couple of thousand testers should be only very little. Fraggle is right Gummy, if you are not pleased with the standalone then you can simply not buy it.

Would be cool if we could shoot from the inside. Haven't heard any news about this though. Maybe the moderators can enlighten us?

I'm pretty sure it will be better optimized than the current mod. However, your PC should also have the decent specs if you want to run it at 30fps. -
You could just buy it because it's cheap and not play until you want to. ;)

Pretty good video. However, is the 50,000 key thing still going to push through? The commentator, for me, should be a bit more upbeat though. Overall, very informative!

A devblog would be nice. Even just little footnotes of what the team has done and what their planing to do would be already sufficient. Even a tease of when the alpha release is going to be. :P -
