    Weird FPS Problem

Could be the server, sometimes with the amount of players + zombies can be harsh on your CPU.

    Weapons/combat suggestion

I find this suggestion not really that necessary for it's importance. Guns that are placed from ArMA 2 to DayZ already have their own statistical values, only thing that's been in consideration is the weapon modification with accessories with the support from the modified ArMA 2 engine. The only beneficial thing about this suggestion is that it'd put realism up by about 10% and this is mostly about how animations would react around objects that are in your arms reach. In-Game, you could do this way by double clicking left Ctrl key by default to lower it anyways.

    Standalone houses

Guess you guys didn't understand the possible joke that's part of the 'Butt' typo, very mature :P Anyway, Rocket did say all houses would be accessible. The crowbar idea had been suggested numerous times and it's probably been brought up to their attention with how many times it was mentioned.

When a player crashes a helicopter

What I noticed is that in Arma 2 when your character gets shot, your face and other parts of your body become very bloody, which is what it should look like inside the heli. It doesn't have to be body parts flying around or anything like that even though Rocket has confirmed that there will be slightly more gore involved in the Standalone.

    Infected Animals

I think the understanding is that animals should be able to retaliate. This form of virus strain only affects humans and the players are immune to it. This should counteract as animals able to defend themselves when they feel it's the need to which would probably be most the time since they're under constant disturbance.
  6. Crossbows and other weapons have been confirmed to have attachments, which means crossbows could come with sight attachments. I'd like to see different bolt varieties. Explosive bolts I'm not too sure though but we can hope and see what will happen :)
  7. I should've put 'staying in the car while moving' .. I know staying in a car stationary when it's hot is not a good idea, common sense. I'll fix it later :)
  8. I'll add those into their rightful categories, thanks for contributing :)
  9. What do you guys think of using animal calls and scents to help improve hunting?
  10. Looks like Dean Hall(Rocket) has confirmed this idea; take a look! @poopthought - Do you have any malls, hotels, prisons or bigger hospitals planned for the standalone? Rocket: Yes! Source: http://dayzdev.tumblr.com/ (Use CTRL+F and search 'Malls')
  11. I agree. Along with being able to 'grenade fishing' in a lake by lobbing a grenade in a lake, which could give you a lot of fish but would take up a lot of resources; making fish able to respawn upon a 6 hour rate perhaps if that was the case. Fishing is one of the things I always been interested in. Having boats and you can't fish out the ocean? That's absurd :P Along with that, comes with tough weather conditions such as getting sea sick and the wind-chill factor but I'm not going to get side tracked with that.
  12. That'd be great :) I'd also like to see more underground bases as you can see in Namalsk.
  13. Hi, TIC here and I want to present some ideas.. Here's what I want to suggest since animations will be improved for the Standalone, why not have new movements? Benefits; *With new movements, it'd improve combat, maneuvering, stealth and perhaps some others that we could think of; adding to 'expansion'. *Gestures could expand socialization; especially players without a microphone or do not speak the same language as you; hand gestures is an international method to communicate, who doesn't know what flipping someone off means? ;P Current animations as of 1.7.5.1; Front Dive, Vaulting, Salute, Leaning. (This topic will be editted for further ideas, errors and to avoid TL;DR Format + 'Ease on Eyes' Reading for simplicity) __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Holding onto ledges*applies to buildings, cliffs, etc. Could greatly help when there are no ladders around on rooftops or trying to hide from a player that's around your area.Zombies/players could see you easier. Zombies could surround you from the bottom, waiting for you to drop for your demise.Players are able to step on fingers, loosening their grip.Assist Barrier climbing;*applies to walls, fences, small barriers. Have you ever come upon a wall that's beyond your height? How about having a buddy giving you a lift up the wall(or fence) and help your partner carry him/herself over it! All Fours(Cat Walk) Are you under heavy fire or trying to sneak around zombies? Well, this is for you! Makes you a wider target.Could make a louder noise depending on the flooring and environment.Makes you stay in cover, faster to move instead of proning; I'm not saying to replace it, just add it!Depending on footwear, you could be more stable on the ground without having an error.Advanced 'Carry Body' Mechanic I know this is currently in ArMA 2 but it's bugged; I think this could be improved. Middle of a firefight and dragging isn't the best option? How about being able to carry a body that's seen in ARMA 2? This would be beneficial as a faster means of carrying an immobilized partner from a broken bone or simply from unconciousness/shock. If your partner gets shot or attacked from a zombie while carrying, the body will automatically fall to the ground and could possibly die or go into further injury. Carrying a player would be able to fall if you are hit by a zombie or hit by players.Different ways to carry such as a Fireman's Carry and a basic 'Arms carry' .. Unconcious players could be carried as well to get out of an area. Dragging is currently implemented.Maybe with different injuries, more than one person can carry a person. Like a two man's chair carry to prevent that person in pain.180 Rotation Featured in many games; could help turn around from zombies chasing you to engage or players trying to eliminate you.Could make your gun sway temporarily for a brief moment(not too long; like 1-3 seconds to gain focus)Lying on back. This is currently in ArMA 3 but it could easily be placed into ArMA 2.5 Could help to defend yourself if your legs are broken or immobile. Could fire while lying on your back.Zombies could see you as a defenseless target and charge more aggressively for the kill.Hug; Could be good to gain warmth for cold environments without the right clothing or equipment; could be great for fresh spawns having trouble for their first time playing or any other case :) Maybe it could make your relationships with your fellow survivors better with hugging for the Standalone aiming to be an MMO. This could be used as well for a desperate attempt of your last action before a bandit happens to eliminate a pair of survivors! __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Gestures Gestures could easily expand the social aspects of DayZ. Salute is only the primary gesture to prove that we are 'friendly' .. Here are other gestures I can suggest. Salute(return it); This could be great to have along with wave to act your role as a military serviceman with the uniforms and such ;)Wanker/Middle Finger; More of a taunt; no other way to really explain it.Beckon; Tells other people to come to them or letting them know the area is clear.Pointing; Point towards a direction you are currently looking at.Thumbs-up/down; Shows approval or disapproval. Thumbs up could also be a sign for hitchhiking.Clapping; Could be used to make noise for a distraction or simply an applause.Numbers 1-10(both hands); Giving players a number, good for counting an amount of items, players, zombies, etc. or even a number bet to sacrifice yourself(joke) ;PPeace sign; To show peace.Okay; To let others know everything's okay.Hands-Up(Surrender); Want to relent? This is an option for people who can surrender from players :)__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Topic Glossary by TIC321(Will be edited for enhanced navigation) Chapter 1: Integrate DayZ Forum avatars, clans, chatroom. 14. I think the 180 rotation and cat walk are all scrapped ideas but I'm glad I brought those upon attention to see what you guys thought :) I really appreciate the responses about these new movements and animations. I was also thinking like after a prolonged period of being sick, you could eventually go to a crawl and move at a very slow rate from the player suffering from the infection through phases and eventually be dead.
  15. Regardless if he's geared, I'd still help. I know I could risk a life if he were to shoot me because you could always spawn in again and get the same items as easily as anyone else can :)

    DayZ Standalone Forum Best Ideas

I see a lot of my ideas here :) These are all great man.
  17. Would you guys think jumping would be a good idea? Depending on what gear you are carrying for the purpose of weight?

    Crossbow needs a scope

Each gun(Crossbows too) will have the option to be able to attach objects on there. So far, your weapon magazine is considered an attachment and have to reload bullets manually. Crossbows will be able to have scopes and not sure what else it'd feature but there will also be a quiver to stack bolts.
  19. Hi guys, TIC here once again to bring you guys another great idea. I want to keep this short and to the point this time instead of long paragraphs ;) Do you happen to think the ambiance is a bit redundant? Currently it's cycled through a loop which at first, can give off a great impression but after awhile could ruin the vibe of it's repetitiveness loop. Could we see further improvements on this? Sure! I think this is what I should bring upon your attention.. Sounds that are meshed with the environments and situations that surrounds your character to create the perfect audio atmosphere.Audio cues, such as there being an item nearby, there could be a very quiet pitch tone or when a zombie pops around the corner on your screen, An example will be this; Visiting countrysides, villages, towns, bases or even freshly spawning at the shore of a beach will have their own bland of music mixed as a collaboration that could feature a 'cross-fade' to avoid silent gaps in-between ambient melody.Depending on the intensity of situations, songs will become more aggressive and upbeat(for car chases, pursuits) an example will be this: Example song(Intensity) .. For encountering a bandit or a very large group of zombies; *These examples are my inspirations, feel free to elaborate on other musical cues without any vocals/acapella. For those who disagree; here's something you could consider reading before submitting; Sound/Music can totally be adjusted through options, it won't entirely take control upon your own will. This audio feature's purpose is to give the survivor a feeling of whatever your player feels surrounding them to make you feel the same way to give more of an understanding of what can truly compel your character to make the Standalone as authentic as a zombie-apocalypse situation as possible. That's my true goal with this idea. Topic Glossary by TIC321(Will be edited for enhanced navigation) Chapter 1: Integrate DayZ Forum avatars, clans, chatroom. US 1401- Rick Ross - Hacker

Once you lost something, it's lost for good. Maybe contacting the admins from that server can help return the items for you if it's possible. Admins will have to check their logs to ban Rick Ross
  21. Don't see why I would need a crowbar to lock a car when I could break the windows with it and hotwire then speed off just like that :P For the ghillie idea, it should be possible for Standalone.
  22. I believe the movement keys should operate like for example; a commo-rose from the Battlefield series which requires you to hold one key and pick some type of request. For this case; it'd be hand gestures. This eliminates the problem of 'too many keys' for your keyboard. Just imagine it as gestures instead of these actions in the picture :) I believe the key for using gestures should be the same as the \ key; just holding it down will bring up this menu varying more gestures :)
  23. I consider humans/animals in the same food chain, no different for zombies to react to an actual, warm blooded flesh-bodied individual.. Should have the same outcome when it's for zombies.. Zombies strike for hunger and gaining control over the masses; in simple terms, I do agree with this idea. Most animals would probably run away due to the zombie's scent that the animals can sense of a dead corpse. Maybe rabid/packs of certain animals could strike against zombies as to believe that the zombie's meat is for consumption and end up dying since the virus only spreads through humans. Instead of animals reanimating to 'zombies', they can just simply die. That's if the animals introduced are carnivorous breeds. With the bell in Cherno, maybe it'd just attract multiple zombies around open fields. Which means there would be more zombies being attracted to that sound. Making Cherno a hotzone.
  24. Tree houses wouldn't really help out much because there are deer stands, I just think it's better to leave it as is. For fire barrels, it can be seen in areas such as Cherno. I believe that fire barrels could be expanded around areas that suffer a lot of poverty due to homelessness prior to the apocalypse which could give us a brief description about some areas.. Adding some fuel from a jerry can could probably help ignite the flame and make it last longer, especially around cold/rainy conditions.
  25. You guys make a great point now that I think of it. Many players prefer having the in-game music off; for players who happen to record their sessions add in their own music after they edit videos. All I can say is that ambiance just needs to be improved :) Thanks for your input!
