I'd like to see zombies have a different type of behavior at night. Such as bumping into walls and such or even tripping on objects and act aggressive when spotting a player(Standalone idea) Other than that, playing at night was always fun for me but haven't done it in awhile since I played on other maps which don't really offer night setting. I agree.

Hey guys, I'd like to suggest this idea because I believe seeing texts onscreen from players kinda ruins the concept of realism for survival. How about that text converts to audio. If the devs are working on taking off weapon reticules and possibly lock First Person View, why not have an option to speak out loud instead reading text so it won't appear onscreen as well? Example: http://en.wikipedia....File:MS_Sam.ogg (<--- Audio file from wiki source, not downloadable. Also shows an issue of saying 'Soy') Definition: Once the text is sent, the text can be converted to your character's voice and make it into dialogue(Text-To-Speech) After the text is sent, your character will begin to say it out loud. An option to change how your voice sounds which will replace Global/Side chat into Whisper/Yelling. When you are unconcious and attacked by a zombie which demonstrated in the mod, your own character's voice is heard from the menu settings so not all characters will sound the same. (Same applies to yelping from a gunshot wound, falling or any type of physical harm) Would benefit players who do not wish to use a mic or just don't have one to just simply speak from your character. Voices can be found from ARMA 2 and the Standalone can follow up on this idea. Changing pitch could be determined by you. Could be another way to distract zombies/players alike when the situation rises. Adds slight realism which could make a difference with a higher player count. ARMA 3 demonstrates an improved voice acting for characters in-game when commands are prompt. Same could happen for text-to-speech. (More to come) Whispering and yelling will be set for certain ranges for people to hear you. Problems: Some players would rather read instead of having to hear since it's easier to comprehend. Pronunciation of words would be incorrect. Especially for Russian words of locations in Chernarus. Hassle of having to stop in place to type so other players can just hear it instead of reading it anyway; making it time consuming. Players talking at the same time could cause interference for conversations (Solution is improved network coding for servers so we know when to speak and have an dedicated servers strictly on country locations to reduce lag) Possible bugs such as sounds looping or character's voices being cut off from more text being sent, not finishing your last message sent. (More to come) Conclusion This idea is totally thrown out the box and thought it could make a good feature to have for additional realism.

I believe more variety of vehicles have been confirmed for the Standalone. You won't be seeing any in release due to them working on totally revamping the mechanics and customization as equal as the customization for your character. I would like to see them follow this type of chart and make manual shifting. Not all cars are automatics. http://wendyding.com...ereact_auto.jpg

How about finding some loot inside trash cans/dumpsters? Something like leftover food that could cause a serious sickness if the risk is taken for it. Or even vending machines that you can break and could drop all bunch of goodies :) Edit: What's been confirmed is items will be more hidden inside houses (Like under beds, cupboards, etc) and have items inside destroyed vehicles.

Text Chat converts to Text-To-Speech (Standalone)
TIC replied to TIC's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Haha. I could picture that happening but the chat won't be shared. I suggested side/global chat would be eliminated just for the text-to-speech suggestion :P BTW; is that actually part of the game? -
Text Chat converts to Text-To-Speech (Standalone)
TIC replied to TIC's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I have said the voices could be found from your character profile settings. I'll make that more clear on the topic then :) Guess I'm out of date with the DayZ news lately. That was the last thing I heard was weapon reticules removed, locked First person view and more HUD icons hidden but guess not :) -
How about things such as if you were to get shot by a firearm in the chest, you could have breathing issues like that other zombies could possibly hear you at a certain range or even players around you. The longer you survive, the sooner you would recover from wounds. I don't think it should be permanent but for a long while. Depending on how strenuous you push your character and how it impacts your wound. Maybe even make complications even worse.

I believe there is some sort of foundation for construction and adding barricades on items. I see this would happen around the end game content of Standalone so at the 4th quarter of the year.
-
A solution that was actually been made for the Standalone is that you'd have to hold a key on your keyboard to aim at someone so on default, your weapon will always be lowered until someone presses or holds the key to aim. It takes the initiative that someone might or might not shoot you. Rocket had shown this in his expo.

I also heard rib cages and such could be broken as well. Having a broken leg would make you limp. I'm not sure about 2 broken legs, probably forced to crawl with your arms?
-
Still a limb nonetheless :P EDIT: Thought the picture was suited but the arm is the main topic here

I just think toilet paper is only good for teepeeing buildings and roll it on the ground to distract people if possible :P

Main Issue: Since DayZ is a mod and ARMA 2 is poorly optimized, many players like myself have encountered a problem where it consumes a lot of your CPU. It's been confirmed that the Standalone have resolved these issues. You'll see a major difference once released possibly in Mid-June :) TIPS: Try changing your resolution size to 'Windowed' and you can resize it. Sometimes a higher resolution requires more work on your GPU since there are more pixels to work with. (I don't even have an actual graphics card, just integrated and this works a lot better for me. Could help a lot for you) Along with those lines, try these startup parameters that can work in your ARMA 2: OP Arrowhead settings here. http://community.bis...rtup_Parameters Read carefully and use the ones that are the right ones for you :) I also think the most basic things you should know is changing your video settings in-game such as keeping your video memory on default.

Diving, Underwater Bases/Caves and Water Vehicle's
TIC replied to Mountainhigh (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I don't think underwater bases would be a good idea. It's not really possible to have unless you're like the guys from Sealab 2021 or have a place like Atlantis. I do think Spearfishing would be great and a possibility of having some type of sporting goods store which could possibly have scuba gear for you to wear. Something like from the ARMA 3 Alpha lite :) -

[SA] Usable Indoor Fireplaces
TIC replied to florian.de.los.santos@googlemail.com's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
This is a really great suggestion! I'd personally would love to see this. Imagine if the seasons were possible to have. Winter having a heavy snow storm and forcing you to find shelter. This is what comes to my mind of a house like what OP showed. -
More options for vehicles(Standalone) -- 4x4, Cruise Control, etc
TIC posted a topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Hey guys, TIC here and I'd like to suggest more features that would be useful for vehicles in the Standalone. Note: This would be a feature that'd be helpful for a lot of vehicles.. Airbags: A safety device. Most vehicles are equipped with air bags. They'd activate if there happens to be a moderate-high speed collision to an object. Depending on your blood amount, you could be knocked unconcious for a certain amount of time. Car Washing: Have you thought that driving off road would be a clean ride? Think again. Your car can become dirty and could possibly help you blend with the environments or otherwise you can keep your car looking clean and maintained. This idea is still floating. Car breaking down, other issues: Not all cars are perfect or maintained well. There should be a slight chance or rare chance of a car having an issue along the way. The chances increase over time but in a very small amount. You are able to fix it if you have the knowledge and tools to do so. Transmission/Engine failure. Faulty parts installed by a survivor. Damage caused from crashing or attacks can have a long-term issue Towing: Only available to do for large trucks and possibly a helicopter(Like a Huey) Great for taking cars back to an area such as camps or even bringing a car to a factory known for car parts for repairs. Sabotage for other players. Assistance for someone stuck on the side of the road. Car Alarms: Car alarms can be triggered when players either try to unlock the vehicle or bump into it(Zombies could bump into it as well in their path) which could attract more zombies around the area and alerting the owner of the vehicle at the same time. Cruise Control: It is known that driving on the highway or road at a certain amount of speed is the best way to drive for MPG's(Miles per gallon; fuel) .. This could be helpful for players for a survival purpose while maintaining the same speed they desire to go instead of having to hold down the key. Navigation System: Not all cars are normally equipped with Navigation Systems. This would work on the dash in the interior of a vehicle which would display a map. Like a GPS. There will be a chance of your navigation system having disconnection issues in certain areas like heavily forested areas or locations that aren't provided with coverage. Windshield wipers: To clean off those bloodstains from zombies/players ran over :P This would also help prevent rendering your vision from rain or other type of debris covering up your windows(Mud, dirt, etc) Air Conditioning/Heater: Can help keep your character satisfied with whatever temperature you desire. Armor Plates: Found some scrap metal and don't know what else to use it for? Could apply it around the body, front and back of the car to protect from small arms fire and could prevent some damage from collision. An ability to ride in the bed of trucks: Depending on an amount of gear stored in trucks, players have an option to ride in the bed. Will be instant death for those if crashed at a high speed. Four Wheel drive: Useful if your car is bogging down in some tough terrain or simply off-roading. ---UPDATE 3/21--- -Added more ideas. -Fixed formatting for easier reading, additional images. Other recommendations -More variety of vehicles; Fire trucks, ambulances, police cars, government grade vehicles, go-karts, mopeds/scooters, street bikes and maybe skateboards. -Each car part has it's different ability in performance for different cars. (CONFIRMED) -Cooperation for installing parts should be a must such as replacing tires, engines, etc. -Options to eat, drink, shooting out of windows, etc. -Prevent cars from exploding so easily -Fix terrain so vehicles won't flip over such as an ATV. -Base the mechanics of vehicles similar to ARMA 3 such as sound and handling. -

Personally, I think we should be able to store items in compartments like the glove box, door pockets, underneath seats, etc. I'd just leave a loaded clip into my cupholder or a nice cold pepsi -

I think the problem with that is if someone manages to break your windows, they'd unlock it and perhaps hotwire if that's a possibility.
