    Extremely Low FPS, I know.

Most the time it depends on the servers which is why it requires restarts. Problem is, the mod isn't optimized with the game which causes client side issues(Players) .. Lag happens most when you join a higher player count server and with the impact they leave such as killing zombies and their bodies remain in the game until restarts, a lot of things start to change. Such as sluggish response, latency lag, frames drop and such. Your specs are fine for ARMA 2/DayZ; should handle it. Refer to these.. Used Startup Parameters; correct? ( ) Changed your resolution to windowed(can adjust size); correct? ( ) Changed in-game settings; correct? ( ) Checked documents for GPU detected frames ahead adjustments? (0 sets it for your best computer default, 1 is lowest); correct? ( ) Checked background processes; correct? ( ) Perform disc cleaner/defragment; correct? ( ) (Changing resolution makes it so your computer won't work so hard with more pixels)
  2. Hey guys, I wanted to recommend this feature for the Standalone and how we shouldn't be totally dependent on medical use without any side effects. Confirmed So Far: Splints, known for use in new crafting system Different health variants(Diet, Blood, Consciousness) Different bones being broken, ability to add splints and bandages. Limping, maybe the possibility of speed of movement rendered. Floating idea of pooping/vomiting from Rocket's early presentation. Various diseases; Cholera, Typhoid fever, Dysentery, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Leptospirosis, Tuberculosis, Viral Meningitis, Bacterial Meningitis, Common cold, Influenza. Medical Items Each character would have a random tolerance limit towards these medications. Some people can handle a higher amount than others. Side effects can have various steps, not always starting off as 'loss of vision or constipation' Painkillers: Used to treat moderate to severe pain. Known Side-Effects: (* mark implies that it's possible for Standalone, others are likely/unlikely to appear) Dependency/Addiction if used often.(Floating idea)Overdose can cause fatal symptoms which could lead to death.Constipation may occur as a side effect which would be a bad combination with junk food eaten.(Depends on dosage)They can include sedation, euphoria, dizziness*, fatigue*, depression, tremors*, anxiety, flu-like symptoms or even the flu*, upset stomach*, dry mouth, itching*, hallucination*, sweating*, muscle and bone pain*, confusion, extreme irritability and muscle spasms*With diseases having an ability to linger onto objects, same should apply to medication. Morphine: Used for mostly severe pain. Should not fix broken bones. About the same as painkillers ONLY for the first 3 dots. Blood-Bag/Tranfusions: As a process of receiving blood or even products into one's circulation intravenously(Blood flow). Transfusions are used in a variety of medical conditions to replace lost components of the blood such as gunshot wounds, stab/slashed, car injuries, etc. Possibility of different blood types for the right person. Should remain cooperative for 2 players to operate a transfusion.A medium-high possibility of an infection such as Hepatitis C.Keeping it in storage in a pack is preferred for the right temperature.Possibility if the blood inside the bag is too cold, it could turn into sudden death if used for transfusion. Antibiotics: Used to cure/treat most bacterial infections. Known common side effects include Diarrhea, Stomach Pains and Vomiting, Hearing Loss/Vision lossMore Medicines/Symptom Relievers: Cough medicines, nasal decongestants, throat reliever sprays, hydrogen peroxide, gauze pads. Improved medical(IDEAS). More bones broken/fractures (More broken bones confirmed, not fractures as of now.)Permanent or Long-Term effects from wounds/diseases.Receiving a scar or clothes being torn from an attack.Bruises. Would be good from a bloody fist fight, bullet wounds, falling, etc.Resting should be beneficial for most conditions. Sleep is the best natural cure!Running or walking for a long time, especially barefoot would make injuries for your feet.Cold/heat causing more effects on players such as hypothermia or dehydration.Zombies are basically a walking dead corpse which could hold hundreds of infectious diseases, especially from a bite and not treated properly. 4. Hey guys, TIC here bringing you guys another idea which came upon my mind. What if weather had more of an effect instead of getting sick/cold? For a heads-up; I have used the search function and while there are some topics retaining this suggestion, mine goes down to detail of how it could put an effect around for players and possibly zombies alike. Warm/hot weather clear skies with low winds, clouds will not be able to provide shade from cloud layers.Gives you a faster chance of getting dehydrated while doing strenuous/mild activities such as sprinting, running and so-forth.Wearing lighter clothing can help reduce the chances of getting 'too hot' .. Even if that means running around in your briefs. Could increase infection probability.Drinking a lot of fluids would give you a longer time where you won't suffer these effects like a heatstroke or dehydrationIntroduce ice packs; which could be found in mostly grocery stores and residential areas to reduce core temperature to a certain degree.Possibility of having muscle cramps as one of the symptoms; fainting, heat exhaustion, and a heatstroke could play a role without proper care.Zombies could experience their corpse rotting at a faster rate as heat increases core temperature.Staying indoors, being in the car, staying in the shade and so-forth will keep you cool.Expect more animals to be around lakes during this time.Symptoms on the Player: Mild: Expect to be thirsty faster, small increase of being exhausted Moderate: Breathing increases at a faster rate, exhaustion will follow if doing physical activities. Fainting increased. Severe: Possible respiratory problems, shaking or muscle spasms will occur, increase fainting then death. Snow Thicker cloud layer blocking the sun, reduces temperature significantly with snow. Zombies will move at a slower rate due to being warm blooded(they're not dead, just infected with a virus) an udnead body is able to produce glycoprotein or something related to it. It would have a workable system that no longer needs internal temperature to function. Zombies would be more likely to move slower in extreme cold, their blood would never convert into a solid, continuing to flow and power through the body.Players would have to find more clothing, T-Shirt and shorts wouldn't be suitable ;)Have to find an empty space on the ground to make a fire instead on top of snow.Depending on the parts; the vehicle would endure the snowy environment which would mean slippery road conditions. Some lakes could become frozen, making it a bit harder to find water. Water not being frozen? Expect it to be very cold to swim in.Decreased animal count due to being in their burrows/densSymptoms on the Player: Mild: Shivering, making aiming a bit difficult; similar to being in pain but shivering could draw attention. Could be solved by holding breath. Moderate: Decreased movement speed, perhaps some vision altering changes. Severe: Expect hearing a slow heart-rate; unable to do certain actions, walking could be impossible. Death follows shortly. Rain(Light-Heavy) Liquid water in a form of droplets being condensed from water vapor and then being precipated. Depending on the volume of the rain, it could affect your immune system. Increases chance of getting an infection/sickness.Making roads more slippery to drive on.Decreases sound of footsteps the player makes from the rain masking the sound. Wind could contribute to this factor.Animals will decrease at a small amount, their pattern will change.Zombies won't be affected by rain.Symptoms on the Player: Mild: Shivering, making aiming a bit difficult; similar to being in pain but shivering could draw attention. Could be solved by holding breath. Moderate: Could hear your character sneezing or coughing, shivering increases. Possible fever can endure. Severe: Infection starts to increase it's strength without care, your blood will drop to 0 at a certain rate. Fog Fog would decrease visibility heavily. Enables players to sneak around easier visually but could hinder your sense of direction.Using fog lamps which could be found on cars would make it easier to drive through, if available.Zombies would have increased hearing but decreased sight, making it slightly easier to lose them in this condition.Symptoms on the Player: None at this moment. 5. Nope. You have edited/released your topic before I had released it. Check the dates :) Thanks!
  6. Actually you can. Just prone inside your tent man ;) actually keeps you out the rain and keeps you warm too. For clothes, that's for Standalone
  7. If it was that realistic, then a frozen bloodbag would actually kill the person because frozen blood flowing through your veins would travel your heart and render it useless along with the wrong type of blood. It'd basically be an equivalent to injecting yourself with poison from a brown recluse.
  8. That would be the question of this thread. Improved weather should have a further effect on players. :)
  9. Absolutely right. I hope we could see some healthier alternatives for food or even grow some vegetation perhaps but would require time and care :)
  10. What I also think should be considered is your history of what you have taken. On average you're suppose to have certain medication only a couple times for every hours so if you use it often then you'd encounter side effects. I do agree it shouldn't be too common but totally dependent on your character's overall health such as diet which was confirmed in Standalone.
  11. I like these ideas but I don't like your poll. It's missing an option to like both numbers ;)
  12. Duct tape is used as a utility so I think it should be common depending on the percentages where it spawns such as for a house it'd be about 45%, supermarkets should be around 60%, things like that.
  13. I think all your ideas are great except for the hunger such as a candy bar filling up 1/4 of it. That's 4 candy bars for 100%. This should do the trick: http://c10184100.r0....on_original.jpg The current problem with the mod is items such as trail mix, sodas, canned goods, etc satisfying both your hunger/thirst up to 100%. Duct Tape could have other uses such as fixing a broken tail light for vehicles or patching holes in clothes if that'd be possible for Standalone. Source: http://thezac.com/ducttape/
  14. I'd also like to add onto this thread some low-end medical care. Things like using toilet paper to poorly bandage your wounds or even 'rub some mud' on a cut :P
  15. I really like how this admin regulates to satisfy the community. The server seems fantastic other than that. :)

    character development as incentive [long]

Simply put; the mod is fairly easy to survive. All it takes is going through building to building without distracting zombies otherwise players will know where you are from where the zombies are chasing you from. Lately I been playing on Namalsk. It is quite a hard map since it has harsh weather conditions, mutant 'Bloodsucker' and EVR sequences, most players happen to be bandits and it's very hard to acquire food/water.
  17. I'd like to see zombies have a different type of behavior at night. Such as bumping into walls and such or even tripping on objects and act aggressive when spotting a player(Standalone idea) Other than that, playing at night was always fun for me but haven't done it in awhile since I played on other maps which don't really offer night setting. I agree.
  18. Hey guys, I'd like to suggest this idea because I believe seeing texts onscreen from players kinda ruins the concept of realism for survival. How about that text converts to audio. If the devs are working on taking off weapon reticules and possibly lock First Person View, why not have an option to speak out loud instead reading text so it won't appear onscreen as well? Example: http://en.wikipedia....File:MS_Sam.ogg (<--- Audio file from wiki source, not downloadable. Also shows an issue of saying 'Soy') Definition: Once the text is sent, the text can be converted to your character's voice and make it into dialogue(Text-To-Speech) After the text is sent, your character will begin to say it out loud. An option to change how your voice sounds which will replace Global/Side chat into Whisper/Yelling. When you are unconcious and attacked by a zombie which demonstrated in the mod, your own character's voice is heard from the menu settings so not all characters will sound the same. (Same applies to yelping from a gunshot wound, falling or any type of physical harm) Would benefit players who do not wish to use a mic or just don't have one to just simply speak from your character. Voices can be found from ARMA 2 and the Standalone can follow up on this idea. Changing pitch could be determined by you. Could be another way to distract zombies/players alike when the situation rises. Adds slight realism which could make a difference with a higher player count. ARMA 3 demonstrates an improved voice acting for characters in-game when commands are prompt. Same could happen for text-to-speech. (More to come) Whispering and yelling will be set for certain ranges for people to hear you. Problems: Some players would rather read instead of having to hear since it's easier to comprehend. Pronunciation of words would be incorrect. Especially for Russian words of locations in Chernarus. Hassle of having to stop in place to type so other players can just hear it instead of reading it anyway; making it time consuming. Players talking at the same time could cause interference for conversations (Solution is improved network coding for servers so we know when to speak and have an dedicated servers strictly on country locations to reduce lag) Possible bugs such as sounds looping or character's voices being cut off from more text being sent, not finishing your last message sent. (More to come) Conclusion This idea is totally thrown out the box and thought it could make a good feature to have for additional realism.

    Suggestion: Civilian Vehicles

I believe more variety of vehicles have been confirmed for the Standalone. You won't be seeing any in release due to them working on totally revamping the mechanics and customization as equal as the customization for your character. I would like to see them follow this type of chart and make manual shifting. Not all cars are automatics. http://wendyding.com...ereact_auto.jpg

    [SA] Looting

How about finding some loot inside trash cans/dumpsters? Something like leftover food that could cause a serious sickness if the risk is taken for it. Or even vending machines that you can break and could drop all bunch of goodies :) Edit: What's been confirmed is items will be more hidden inside houses (Like under beds, cupboards, etc) and have items inside destroyed vehicles.
  21. Haha. I could picture that happening but the chat won't be shared. I suggested side/global chat would be eliminated just for the text-to-speech suggestion :P BTW; is that actually part of the game?
  22. I have said the voices could be found from your character profile settings. I'll make that more clear on the topic then :) Guess I'm out of date with the DayZ news lately. That was the last thing I heard was weapon reticules removed, locked First person view and more HUD icons hidden but guess not :)

    Permanent injuries

How about things such as if you were to get shot by a firearm in the chest, you could have breathing issues like that other zombies could possibly hear you at a certain range or even players around you. The longer you survive, the sooner you would recover from wounds. I don't think it should be permanent but for a long while. Depending on how strenuous you push your character and how it impacts your wound. Maybe even make complications even worse.

SA - Must we all be Nomadic?

I believe there is some sort of foundation for construction and adding barricades on items. I see this would happen around the end game content of Standalone so at the 4th quarter of the year.
