[Machinima Series] Infection: Z *Episode 3 Now Live!*
TIC replied to CodyMurray's topic in DayZ Mod Gallery
This is kind of comparative to Red vs Blue but DayZ version Edit: Where's episode 4? -
I believe "dramatic" is the wrong term to use. Nothing's dramatic about "translation" .. From that point, it's dependant on perspective and that's how you handle the situation. Turning a helpful solution to a hostile situation is never key to submitting a post on the forums so think before you post. :) Edit; Forgotten to post anything related to the topic so pre-ordering in the Standalone wouldn't be really anything good since I believe buying a product should be equal to every consumer instead of having "benefits"
-
I'm not. I'm just supporting other people who aren't able to comprehend the sentence. If you're just going to insult and criticize about it, it's better off not saying it at all. I'll just end that there.
-
Translation: Pre-order? why? You don't have to go to an haircut shop and say "Hey, my hair is growing. Maybe in 2 weeks I need a haircut. Is it Ok if I pay it now?"
-
That idea only applies with games like The Sims, PS Home and such which I consider just casual social chatrooms. The way DayZ has it is just fine.
-
That's actually a good idea, asides the spiders, Rocket should run a study on phobias to make DayZ much more scarier ;) (Joking)

Winchester; 15 shots, powerful and plentiful of ammo to go around. Only downside is damage dropoff at ranges PDW; ammo conversion is quite easy as it accepts M9, G17 or just regular PDW magazines, makes ammo more expansive to find. Only downside is ironsights

Well there is a mod in ARMA 2 where you can use horses.. as you can see, they're not really "attractive" to use http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42rNDtaLsnU

How about something like this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGt8QbK61aE&feature=g-u-u http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HylAK_biGfk

You can find what he's trying to say here.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJf-F6fCXz0 And no, I don't think that'd work out. Maybe adapt some features perhaps..

An ability to have dirty/clean clothes in Standalone.
TIC replied to TIC's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I think blood would be great to distinguish whoever was in combat mostly and even if players try to remove blood stains off clothes, remnants of them will remain unless you change clothing items of course :) -
I came up with an idea for the study body system.
TIC replied to BioHazard050's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I suggested this before and it was under criticism and yet, when someone else suggests this, it turns out to be a good idea :P -
Where would you like a DayZ: SA map to be set?
TIC replied to King of kong's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Oh here we go, a thread where people bash on eachother's nationality. Close the thread before it lays eggs -
Sometimes you don't always need matches or a hatchet to make a fire, around towns there are barrels you can use that are already on fire to cook meat. Fastest way to heal is having someone give you a blood bag(transfusion) but be careful, there's a chance that you can get infected from it

I hope the Green Mountain Radio makes a return
TIC replied to BwobBwub's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I'd like it if the radio station was left on for some time before the power does go out. If a player can get there fast enough, they could possibly hear zombies eating bodies or something disturbing. -
I'd only agree to having those guns back if it was reduced in damage but judging it as it was meant for anti-material over anti-personnel, I'd say no. There are better alternatives to other long range rifles.. SVD, M24, M40, DMR, Hunting Rifle and others I haven't listed
-
I'd like it if there was one deer in the Standalone, it'd be called "Bambi" referencing to a fresh spawn but instead, it'd be a fresh fawn ;)

Wolves and other natural predators in the wilderness are adapted to their environment and sneak around whether the chances are greater to take than a risk which means if a player were to fire a weapon from several miles away, they'd hear it and go up to where the sound came from out of curiosity and if it were to happen around that time of the interval of when the shot was fired, then it'd scare the predator away unless if it was already fighting that person. I do believe these natural predators should come in as a role towards a threat and for us being able to hunt them for resources like for example even though this isn't a predator that if we were to kill a duck, we could use the feathers and bones to fletch ourselves arrow tips and feathers while we can hack off wood pieces with a hunting knife to make ourselves arrows. Expansion of weapons have been confirmed, mostly civilian and handcrafted weapons(Like an IED, spears, etc) The Kar98k is also confirmed which could allow players to add attachments as well. I'll find where it's confirmed.

DayZ Mod Suggestion: Zombies eating players make bodies disappear
TIC posted a topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Hi guys, TIC here and I thought of this suggestion a while back and thought it'd be a great addition.. Relating to players having an option to hide bodies in-game, zombies could do the same if players fall victim to them.. After zombies consume them in a certain time(If more zombies are eating the body, it'll take less time for the body to vanish) Reasons Possible performance gains for the server. Makes permadeath more prominent in DayZ. Could prevent players gaining their loot after death. Makes it more realistic for zombies since they do consume human flesh. Makes zombies slightly more threatening. If players do kill zombies surrounding the body, it will prevent it from disappearing and makes it rewarding for themselves to retrieve loot from dead players. -
DayZ Mod Suggestion: Zombies eating players make bodies disappear
TIC replied to TIC's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I think that feature would be a bit too complex in the current ARMA 2 engine with people's bodies being ripped/torn apart from zombies but even in the Standalone, I couldn't really see that happening as well as much as I wanted it to happen myself but maybe that can, who knows :) With that being said, the only way a zombie could make a body disappear in the mod is for them to relate it to the 'hide body' function but it could be actually delete the body instead of it going underground which would remove it completely from the server for performance gains. As a reminder, I don't think devoured bodies are possible in the mod. -
You'll need a tin can while you're at it to actually boil the water with it. It's not a bug, not all lakes are safe to drink. Boiling it will give you a 100% success rate of not getting infected from it.

Makes me wish all servers were required to have a white list.

This is in the mod but everyone can see it by using X markers on the map. I'd like to be able to add notes along the map like on a piece of paper. I love the idea of destroying a map with notes on it.

An ability to have dirty/clean clothes in Standalone.

With us using the disinfectants with an action bar, we could clean those bad boys out and give it a whirl ;) -
An ability to have dirty/clean clothes in Standalone.
TIC replied to TIC's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
The thing is that what we wear comes to an effect. Especially since when I put this into consideration is that survivors most often can wear clothes for a very long time without having to remove them which could lead out to consequences. What I want to put as well is most importantly, the weather to promote those issues. Mold does happen if you leave wet clothing(specifically cotton material) in an area for a while, more likely to happen in tight spaces more than spacious areas with lots of air flow. The smells that we find is a warning of putrefaction to humans is what attracts flies so anything that has a mild-strong smell that we dislike can attract flies. Dead bodies that are around your proximity decomposing would reduce the likeliness of the flies coming towards you if you were to smell bad as it would be ignored. When it comes to clothing lying around that smells, flies are attracted to organic matter/clothing like wool, silk and cotton for them to reproduce(Scientific sentence is italicized which couldn't affect DayZ but more of reality) Yeah, it is too early I can admit but this is what I want to put out as a recommendation for the developers to include into the game at a later time as there are other priorities that the Standalone needs to finish. In an MMO Perspective, clothing is what strives our characters appearance and I'd like it if it were to be distributed to attributes from how we take care of the things we have such as Rocket saying we could do weapon cleaning, same concept.
