I forgot it was controlled by server admins. For the bones being broken, have you considered arms? I figured this would be quite complicated to implement but quite interesting. Another feature I had in mind is an ability to add feathers(as bait) such as from a chicken onto a fishing rod to catch other types of fish like Salmon in lakes or the ocean.

Quick Tips For Starter (Submit a tip if you have one)

Examine your environments, it may save your life by finding a fountain when you have an empty water bottle. -
It's important enough for us to see how the new prison and Utes is like without the help of boats :)
-
I had thought about that too. I hope the swimming is the same as ARMA 3 is. The one in ARMA 2 is way too bad to have again.
-
I don't think so. They have done a lot of changes to the animations such as being able to shoot while running and the strafing looks entirely different. The movements when moving from crouch to prone and able to sprint while crouching seems ideal to me. It's a modded RV3 engine which is basically an ARMA 2.5. Trees are suppose to look more full and flourished comparing to ARMA 2. Grass looks slightly better, I just hope the trees and grass along with buildings don't create big fps drops.

Here's a couple things I'd like to see as a helicopter to suddenly crash into a certain area.. Appearance: http://www.military-today.com/helicopters/kamov_ka27_helix_l4.jpg Possibility of the helicopter having a radio that comes through the speaker in a Russian language stating "We're coming to rescue, follow us" then suddenly something happens inside and spins out of control.Once the helicopter crashes, the condition of items in it or around it would be in moderate-critical damage.Zombies around the area will be attracted to the crash then start consuming bodies that could appear around it.

If zombies won't delay an alpha release, I'm sure sound won't delay it as well since Rocket did say they wanted to push the alpha out the door but that's not confirmed, that's just my guess. I just wish people stopped jumping into conclusions to think it'd happen until something comes up from their end. All we can do is wait.

And maybe a whole lot more to come at that point ;) I wish I could recognize the other guns the other survivors are holding in the background. (Is that a US Patch on that person holding the Mosin Nagant?)
-
I totally agree. I had problems where I can't hear at certain angles (Such as behind me) and I have my PC hooked up to a 5.1 SRS

In regards to different sounds being implemented in the Standalone; Rocket has said this. Rocket: "All sounds and even parts of the sound engine are being replaced. This won't occur until our new audio designer we are hiring starts work." (Source here: http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/1pj308/sa_an_urgent_appeal_changing_the_footstep_sounds/)

Ideas that could make DayZ Standalone great.
TIC replied to vandviken's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Think you missed the top line there :) And yeah I totally agree with zombie hordes in certain areas. -
I go with Option A. I think this option would be useful because damaged clothing would cause more risks. Damaged clothing would put survivors in risk such as cold weather meaning you could get sick easier.Gives you a more clean appearance on your character instead of looking like a mess.Could also sew/patch tents that are damaged if possible.Depending on the condition of the needle required for sewing, it could have a higher chance of breaking. Needles that are in excellent conditions will last much longer. Now all we need is working washing machines kind of like this one that was teased ;)

Felt like being a little creative ;) -
I want to see the new features along with the performance gains comparing to the mod.
-
With the network functionality being complete, is it just testing and optimizing before release?
-
Would it be possible to see other bones being broken besides legs? Edit: Would also like to add if it'd be possible to get rid of "side chat" function :)
-
Well Rocket did say he wanted the alpha to be good. We'll just have to wait until he's pleased with the release. A smooth alpha means a smooth ride all the way to the end.

Dean Hall just posted an image on twitter off the network bubble area + plus MP testing at 1am prague time

I can't wait for this to come out :) -
I'm glad to see the network bubble being finished. It looks great as I can see in the picture of how it'll work in-game. Looks like we'll be seeing a very large boost in performance in comparison to ARMA 2.

A stamina system wouldn't be a bad idea since there'd be a more in depth health system anyway.

Fraggle speaks the truth.

These people don't even listen to the forum mods anymore.. Disappointing for the ones who try to put useful information like myself onto this topic to contribute.
-
Either way I assume it won't be an expensive launch due to it being an alpha version just like how ARMA 3 did their developmental phases (Alpha, Beta then Final)

If we look at the September devblog; there's a small hint in relation to the Guy Fawkes (The mask) which is on 5th of November in which is two weeks away from now. Hicks said that they're in "mid sprint" DayZ Guy Fawkes Ref. Image (Sept. Devblog): http://i1.ytimg.com/vi/LdcVPKD803E/maxresdefault.jpg On November 5th, I'd guess that we would be getting one of the following in order of speculating likeliness.. Game is released on Steam under the Early Access category.Devblog that goes extremely into detail, giving us a confirmed early access release date.Or simply just nothing.

Hicks: Mid sprint, loving the team MP sessions. I think a couple of the animators may be up ahead. #DayZDaily
