Would there also be a way to take a blood sample off of one of the freshest pools so you can determine their blood type so you could give them a transfusion with that type without having to remove blood from that character? :)

Would the rate increase in terms of how much you are bleeding? (Also depending on chevron indicators on the blood level between 1-3)

Would the blood trail system have any effect on server performance in a way?

The point of having an open alpha is to stress-test the servers with very large amounts of players that are in just so there's further testing to improve the stability of bugs and other issues. The amount of players don't really matter at this point until an official word comes in from actual developers.

I'd also like to add onto this is something called Foxfire fungus. There are a lot of bioluminescent fungi and I believe this could be useful to navigate around throughout the night and it does look awesome other than that :) -
I wonder if leaving notes around would be affected by weather such as rain?

Now all we need is females being able to wear ghillie suits and hero outfits.. Only time will come to that ;)

I'd also like to add to this weight system is a way to increase your endurance after a duration of time holding equipment on your character so in that way you won't be so tired so easily as long(But may burn more calories = being hungry/thirsty more frequent depending on climate weather/temperatures) as you have a balanced diet and enough rest to handle it all.. While we're at it, why not just add exercising like doing push-ups with all that gear? :)

Or possibly build a rain collector barrel like something from Project Zomboid. Perhaps after awhile that the water has been sitting(or trapped as you may call it) for some time, the water could turn bad from the possible elements just like how lakes and other water sources can create waterborne illnesses.

For the pen and paper system, they should change the fonts for each person.. Not everyone has the same handwriting and this would distinguish the differences in their own handwriting and making those players unique. I'm not too sure how the fonts would be but I'd like it to be between print and cursive handwriting :) I do like different colored inks though.

Damn, you're quick Salamander! Was about to post that ;) Edit: Beans to you, great post. Also, ripping clothing for bandages is great, exactly like Project Zomboid. One of the features I liked. I also noticed incredible frame drops, I wonder if it's part of recording?

Last time I heard, an hour ago from now one of the redditors uploaded a video of the stream at 57% (192 minutes remaining). It's safe to say it's around the upper 60's to low 70's range. I'd keep my eye on this for the next couple hours :) https://www.youtube.com/byvelten

DayZ commander and Steam DayZ mod ?

I prefer DayZ Commander. This allows much easier server browsing, keeping up to date and an ability to download additional mods that are based on DayZ as well (Taviana, Namalsk, Epoch) -
Seasons won't be coming into the Standalone due to engine related issues but different weather patterns will play a role so seasons won't be entirely necessary. Ivan Buchta Will we see, in future maps, full seasons with a wide range of temperature swings and weather patterns? (Snow, trees changing, etc.) "It is something we would like to achieve in the future, but it is nothing to be expected any soon. We are aware of the possibilities this would bring to the gameplay and it's something I would personally love to see in the Real Virtuality engine one day, but we don't have the appropriate technology to facilitate seasonal changes yet. However, judging from my last meeting with the design team, players will already have enough to deal with without seasonal changes: temperatures drop during the night, clothes and boots may get soaking wet and combination of both can decimate survivors quicker than a group of raging bandits. :)" (Source)

Will the SA actually be a zombie game?

Definitely. The problem with the mod is that it's not a game itself, ARMA 2 is a military simulator (Not a game about zombies in particular) They're fully aware about the whole situation and will probably make it the best experience possible as a standalone game based off the mod. I wouldn't worry. -

Hey guys, TIC here and I wanted to present you guys the wonderful footage that Razor had posted recently in case you have missed it about these new features for the mod. Blood Testing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ezbcaZSsjFo&feature=youtu.be Stealth http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GReV0AtmjJM Features in Detail Temperatures are finally fixed instead of being hot. This makes it more of a factor now.Stealth includes hearing and sight for zombies, this has been improved as I can see.Blood tests shows a UI once you are using the kit to determine your blood type. My Thoughts: I believe these features will greatly improve the survival aspect of the game to make these factors more prominent. Now I think the next thing that could use some adjustments to the zombies to make them more rewarding to kill.. I notice that a lot of survivors don't really use their precious weapons or ammunition on zombies but killing other players instead to make it their worth. This is more of a brainstorm at the moment but I believe there could be a way to make more uses out of their bodies (Such as using a hunting knife on them like what you do with animals and you could create rags for bandages or something else) If you want to see the current changelog for the next update, here it is: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/149483-rolling-changelog-181/
