Appreciate the quick answer. Thanks! :)

Rocket has reached out to the forums on an informative update: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/153340-quick-update-for-4-december-2013/#entry1536272

Rocket, I must say that you're very thorough with everything about the Standalone and it's greatly appreciated to see that from a video game developer and I don't normally say this but as of now, I wouldn't worry too much about the state of the game. It's about confidence on the project and commitment to resolving issues and providing feedback in which you guys are doing a great job of. In example of Project Zomboid, it's much easier for them since it's a single player game and DayZ will be entirely multiplayer is what this must be taken note of in case others haven't noticed :) I only have one question; how many testers(In total, could be an estimate and anonymous) are participating in the pre-alpha testing builds?
-
Well he's probably referring to the zombie that's in front of him. As in, "Bring it on" .. It's used as a response to a challenge Edit: On other news; the media assets were released on Steam's CDN and I recognized the two that were quite similar. Video in a nutshell: "Oh shit, I have nightvision!"

The "It has to be out by the end of the year" was from 2012. Not this year. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-09-27-dayz-standalone-release-this-year-says-dean-hall

Now that's even better :) This comes to conclude that we'll most likely see a hockey mask as well just like what Jason Voorhees wears.

That or very well hidden in some type of bank or store, making it a clear reference :)

Dean - Sort it out man. Losing your way
TIC replied to Thegoon84's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I agree but I believe more integral parts such as architecture for the engine and other core functionality are the hardest to deal with rather than additional content added. I don't really see the mask being practical in it's uses other than trying to rob a store in a post zombie apocalypse if there were still employees around ;) -
In my opinion, players have a choice in wearing these types of apparel but then again, Rocket has stated the game would be based on "Authenticity"

Whatever happened to "Authenticity" of the game? -
Now I know what's on my wishlist this holiday ;) DayZ Standalone; I hope you come out this month like it was suppose to be last year.

Hundreds of men in white lab coats spawning?

Which pill did you pick, Neo? -
This is something that's seen like in the game Outlast(Horror). This way, it could be helpful instead of leaning half your body out of cover if you wouldn't expose yourself to a zombie or a firefight. Would definitely like to see this aspect in DayZ in which could be great for first person only servers and makes sneaking around much easier. Along with things like hding under beds ;) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GPf3MdVOKI

What happened to melee combat? (mod)
TIC replied to bad_mojo (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I believe each melee weapon should be altered with their ranging capabilities if this were possible so in this case. they'll be unique in their own ways but the ones that are obviously stronger shouldn't be as common to find (Hatchet, Machete; these seemed to be more "sought" out in terms of an post apocalyptic world realistically.) I'd also like to add that a melee weapon shouldn't only be used as a weapon, but as a tool just like a hatchet is and perhaps a crowbar could open wooden crates you see as loot items and opening them could give you a high possibility of junk loot or perhaps something very valuable ;) Hatchet: Far Machete: Far Baseball Bat/Spiked: Average Crowbar: Short In variation, I'd like to see more different types of melee weapons and how it can affect your character by it's weight which means using them often could make your character feel "hot" and this could make you more hungry/thirsty as this type of movement can burn calories in which of course, can be replenished but in such consequence, you can sleep in a tent which would suffice enough. :) Perhaps we could see things such as; SledgehammerGolf ClubSword(Wooden, or entirely metal material. Would match the environment of historical sites like castles but need to be very rare.)Walking Stick -
Fast zombies would only be good as long as they don't zig-zag when you aim your weapon at them as if they know they're being aimed at. Personally, I'd like to see a combination of the two. Especially when it comes to seeing a random horde, some will run, some will walk.

Now that looks like one of the new zombie models Rocket mentioned.

Being able to choose where you spawn sucks.
TIC replied to scaramoosh's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Perhaps you could try the poll again but hide the results so it won't be 50/50 :) Edit: It'd only be visible to yourself and then at the end of the poll, it could be revealed with the amount of votes :) -
I wish I could've thought of that one ;)

I had a question about knives going blunt. Is there a way to resharpen them? (possibility of being broken after a lot of usage) Or perhaps being able to use them as a weapon? Then again there'd be a problem with holstering them as if they were a rifle or a pistol since there are restrictions within the engine. I probably answered my own question but I like to see an actual answer from a person who works more in-depth with it than I ever would :)

This is addressed in the changelog for the next update. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/149483-rolling-changelog-181/ -

TIC replied to scaramoosh's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Perhaps on the changelog, there could be a poll attached to it to see whether the majority can agree with the most important features in a future update to see whether it's appropriate or not. -
if it doesn't load then it might mean that you are running the wrong version of ARMA from the server. You should be running the same versions but the ARMA one is backwards compatible. That's one solution. After waiting, do you get some type of error code? Edit: I'll add that if you verify your game's cache through Steam, this might work as well.

Which DayZ mod are you playing? (Epoch, Taviana, Namalsk, etc)
