Can you swim in the current build of DayZ SA?
TIC replied to deus_drone's topic in General Discussion
I tried looking for it but I don't think it's in yet. I swam to Skalisky island and went to the southern end as well. And yes you can swim but not dive underwater yet. Swimming is definitely an improvement. -
Yes, there should be just like this: http://i.imgur.com/okcHF.jpg

Have you tried these solutions? Adjusting permission privileges? (Found in your Steam folder on My Computer and right clicking the DayZ application) Running the game on Administrator? Adjusting your microphone through your sound settings (Recording settings in particular)

Yes but very limited and do not respawn at the moment.Yes; some items degrade faster than others but I'm assured this will be corrected.Yes; I believe Cholera is in. Not sure about any other ones. For your rig; you'll suffer low FPS even on low settings but nothing has been optimized on client side and do not meet the minimum requirements. Only server-side at the moment. In response to your FPS, I'd have to say it'll be between 1-8; if that.

Security Vulnerabilities fixed by Patch #2 and Character wipe
TIC replied to rocket's topic in News & Announcements
I'm disappointed by some of the community for it's impatient and improper demeanor; my reasons are that Rocket and the team done what everyone was asking for which was simply an alpha release this year. We all knew what was coming when the word alpha was labeled with the product and they listened to what the majority has wanted but it comes with a price like so: This is not final. For now this is a perfect opportunity to square away the issues by reporting them and I really appreciate the daily patches that have been rolling in since the release on Steam. (Thanks for that) :) -
Blunt weapons are meant to affect the consciousness of a being; it's better to use a sharp object if you're going for a lethal approach.I believe the server locations are based on real time so try to pick the one that is day in that time. You need to quench your thirst to the point "you feel full" but not too much otherwise you'll face water poisoning.Loot is currently restricted to a set amount due to performance at the moment. I predict the oncoming weeks this will increase gradually.http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/154048-bug-reports/Read line 4.Loot is misplaced at the moment and will be adjusted accordingly.Loot will most likely be adjusted to a realistic measurement.Radios are meant to replace "Side Chat" function via text or VOiP. I believe once private servers come to check, administrators are able to talk to players individually. This is my guess. This is a network bubble issue that Rocket stated in one of his streams. This will be fixed as it's a known issue. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Now my issue I have now is just generally client-side performance since it hasn't been touched upon yet. :)

Have you tried using a headlamp?

Yes, this is to prevent crashes on Steam's end when updates roll in when content in-game will become outdated. Here; I'll quote myself.

At this phase of the game, the only point is to stress test network stability and solve issues that are generated with large amounts of players on servers; which is why bodies of zombies hide automatically and loot is very limited. As I can see it, we should only play for the experience of the game at it's basic functionality so gathering all the gear is good only for testing purposes to see how it functions and make use of the bug feedback system. :)
-
Yes. Just as long as there are any living thing that generates noise will be gathered on your end as well.
-
This is caused by the network bubble. Same goes with hearing the zombie sounds over and over again. I find this quite annoying to hear someone else's mic when they are not near me.

I know there's a better way of testing a battery if you drop it or using a meter ;)

Needing a can opener to open a can is pathetic
TIC replied to dayzhopeful's topic in General Discussion
I hope that some time if you use any blunt object to open something in a can, there could be a possibility of losing some of the contents from the can in case you completely smash it or the vibrations after opening it would result in a small spill about 10-20% of it. -
Have you tried playing on Windowed and is your video memory set on Auto? Edit: Yes, the developers are aware of performance and only done optimizations on server, nothing for client as of now but will be worked on.

Hey guys, TIC here and I been thinking more ways to use rags instead of using them as bandages. Take note that this is a suggestion for the Standalone preferably later on through the development. Uses of creating more clothing options; head bands, crafted surgical masks, aprons to prevent infectious blood, bandannas and such.Drying your clothes with them from rain, swimming around to prevent yourself from getting cold.An ability to use them as a tourniquet to reduce large amounts of bleeding.Attach to a stick for a sign of surrendering or waving for attention or use as a torch.Blindfolding a zombie(knocked on ground from knockout hit) or player.Patching clothes that have been damaged from ballistics or scratches.(More will be added through other ideas or things that come in mind that are realistic.)

This is your best bet to help contribute with bug issues :) Bug Reports Standalone bug reporting
-
More performance optimizations to client side is my only wish :)
-
Have you tried holding it in your hands and then refilling them? :)

Love the part where a guy in the background says "Oh fuck yes!" after shooting someone out of the helicopter. Makes you feel like this.
-
Definitely. It makes survival a lot easier with people who can find loot quickly and disperse zombies much faster and retaliate against bandits alike.

Along with the new players, most of them are relatively friendly which is great to see.
