  1. A read on this would help: http://dayzdev.tumblr.com/ In regards of the zombies; I agree that they should be fixed before making them more difficult. They are difficult enough that they go through buildings but rest assured, all that is known and will be fixed accordingly.

    Kicking

    Kicking would be a good idea. It has a lot of purposes like you've said above. I believe it's a good way of countering punches if you're in a fistfight with some other player who's throwing punches as you trying to hit each others faces. This would also be great for kicking objects around, like kicking it aside(Like a weapon, let's say after you disarm someone and they tried to grab it again, just kick it out of there)

    DayZ should always be about survival...

    I think the problem is that DayZ lacks a storyline. With one, there would be more focuses entirely based along the story. Without having one, this is probably intentional to make room for development and a reason for us to develop our own story.
  4. It all depends on your state of physical condition and what you're wearing overall. If you were in a healthy condition and only wearing the clothing you received on spawn and got punched in the head, you'd be knocked out unconscious. If you were hit in the body, it'd take awhile for you to fall over unconscious.

    I guess everyone should head on over to musty and enroll to the open testing server for 1.8.1 It's pretty amazing. I love how temperature actually works now and has associated effects ;) it's more enjoyable than retail at the moment in my opinion

    Three words. Land. Mine.

    I'd like to be able to craft traps instead of finding mines with ease that have a high explosive radius. Crafting traps could also contribute with base building as it could both require the same resources.

    Breakable Bottle Glass

    Or make use of the physics engine and placing them on a wall for some target practice ;) Edit: I'd like to say that's a good idea. The condition of a broken glass bottle should be "damaged" and after a few uses, it'll shatter into shards, making the bottle "ruined" but still able to use the shard as a slicing item but should be held with gloves to avoid cutting your hand which could result in bleeding.

    apologists are delaying development.

    Unfortunately you can't change people, you can only change yourself and I understand your perspective clearly. I think all we really need is just "more zombies" that have more variety than the ones from the mod.

    DayZ Mod 1.8.0.3 Hotfix.

    Definitely. I remember Dean had said that the development of the mod would continue(and that'd leave Dean entirely focused on DayZ retail for the time being.) So far it's been about 3 months since the last mod update. All we can do is continue to wait. I'd like to suggest if you guys ever come up with an update that's not finished, I'd recommend opening testing servers for the latest update which I know isn't finished. It'd be great if it were available to the public so we could be able to provide feedback and help resolve some bugs before it becomes a proper update instead of providing hotfixes.
  15. I sometimes think about that as well.. A lot of developers often sell their game in an unfinished state and I have no idea what reason that could be.

    More Horror elements!

    I'd like to hear the sounds for the night ambiance being greatly improved. Something I'd like to hear is crickets and owls while having a campfire and rustling in bushes to keep you on edge.

    He probably most likely meant bayonets attached onto weapons to work as a melee weapon in forms of stabbing or slashing.

Hey guys, TIC here and I wanted to suggest a way that we can be able to determine our strength and well-being from what we consume and how it could benefit us or how it could affect us in a negative way. Advisory: This topic will be edited when new consumables come in, I hope to see more varieties such as fruits and vegetables, energy drinks, sugary treats and more. The Rundown -- Future character progress based on item consumption, fitness/diet and problematics How canned goods could benefit and cause issues in means of chemicals and safety from pathogens of bacteria.Storage containers should have sanitation purposes which means backpacks, bags, cases and such can be in stages of clean and dirty. Methods for cleansing should be advised.Creating a time table on when power or water works would shut off over time: This could be determined by a configured server time.Proper conditions other than cleaning in means by temperature could increase and decrease risks.Expanding food categories that would be represented in the real world: Add in perishable productsCreating problems and solutions to things that could harm our character's performance based on nutrition and diet.An ability to be able to read nutrition labels that are displayed on food item contents: Bagged snacks, canned goods.Items becoming affected by food-borne bacteria due to the lack of refrigeration and cross-contamination if close to other contents CANNED/BOTTLED: Sodas - How it affects us (Warning; spoilers will display large images) Opening this will show you a brief image and description of Pipsi Here's a great example below (Don't mind the kidney stone portion where it says race and gender, leaving it equal is better for gameplay experience) How canned items be helpful Highly unlikely of receiving food-borne pathogens if they are unopened.Leaving them opened could increase the rate of canned goods becoming perishable over time.With the new physics coming in, we'd see them being used to cause distractions if thrown. This means harming players would be less of an issue(such as knocking someone out in 1 punch, it'd take about 5-6 hits in severe malnourished states)Creating more visual/audio cues determined by our physical state, impaired awareness and breathing. (Rapid breathing after running for a long duration, could be a sign of a heart attack)Following the bullet above, we should be able to control our breathing.     PATCH THIS GLITCH PLEASE OMFG

    I believe it's been fixed in official servers. I've never encountered this issue on official DayZ servers, it's the only one I've played.
  22. From my experience with the mod when I first began around June or July 2012, it was a lot of fun and it differentiates a lot of games I've played previously. DayZ Mod has to be one of my most played mods. It has a lot to offer and I've been waiting for the next update which seems very, very promising. Gaining the experience from playing the mod will give you a whole different play-field when you play the retail version. I'd recommend doing a lot of research before purchasing the mod, I know people who aren't completely satisfied with it's current status. The mod won't be as expansive as standalone since they are completely different and it has a lot of limitations, I mean; A LOT. The whole design and architecture of the game is purposely made for a military simulator, not a zombie survival game like DayZ (Retail) is. DayZ Mod also has its problems, bare in mind of issues that Arma 2 has such as slow transitions of animations, frame rate drops after prolonged periods of server activity, zombies no-clipping through walls and walking in houses, rocks breaking legs.     If you combat log don't play, quit.

    Combat logging is a ridiculous action. I really frown upon it. I mean, what's the point of playing DayZ if you don't play it for it's potential that you'll learn that you'll lose your items eventually. Besides, they're easy to obtain anyway since they're on the ground waiting for you to be picked up :)
