The thing is... basically you have to go prone now where you used to be able to crouchwalk which doesnt add to the challenge, it just makes the game less fun if it takes you 10 minutes to crawl to a supermarket if you dont have a propper weapon to take care of the Zeds. Crouchwalking through zeds paths was quite a thrill in 1.7.1.5, now i just rage when i prone and my visibility meter jumps up to 1.5 the value it was before for no obvious reason. I mean seeing a lootable building knowing youre gonna aggro anyways and just run for it instead of crouchwalking your way through actually lessens the thrill you have while playing the game instead of increasing it. -

Tried 1.7.2 some more now but i still cant get my head around the Aggro. Even staring at the Visibility value in the debug screen sometimes just doesnt help because the numbers still seem pretty random to me at times. Sometimes you crouch run past a Zombie half a mile away and just because the visibility number randomly jumps up to 1.5 times the previous value you get aggro. For me the game is pretty unplayable now, getting starter equipment without playing the game in a way it was not meant to be played (Run around cities like a madman picking up what you can) is close to impossible.I dont know, i highly doubt aggro will stay this way, it was probably something Rocket wanted to try and it just doesnt work out. Hope it gets fixed soon, ill be sticking to 1.7.1.5 for now. -
How to ditch 1.7.2! Go back to good Ol 1.7.1.5

Redid the whole process (Deleted @DayZ Folder -> Reinstalled 1.7.2 via Six -> Tried joining 1.7.2 Server: Sound OK -> Deleted contents of @DayZ/addons -> Extracted 1.7.1.5 there -> joined 1.7.1.5 Server: Sound broken) Gonna try downloading from a different mirror now, if that doesnt work i have no idea what is causing the problems for me, especially if others are reporting that it works just fine for them. Edit: Didnt help, guess im stuck. -

Hey, thanks for providing this. The problem that i have is that the sounds are completely gone after downgrading. Sound previews in the audio options menu work just fine, but in-game i dont hear anything at all, no footsteps, no weapon sounds, no atmospheric background. Does anyone else have that problem or a solution to this? -

I agree 100%. I gotta admit.. im fairly new to day z, only played a couple of days on 1.7.1, but i really enjoyed the game so far. I did experience emotions i have never experienced before in a mod/game, and that is quite an achievement. The thing is that the 1.7.2 Aggro changes really ruined the game for me. The excitement when you crouched through a town with a finger on your prone key all the time while watching zombie movement, that was intense. Now I randomly aggro zombies all the time although i do play more cautious than before. Its really frustrating... The things i like so far are the changes to viewing range and the amount of zombies spawned. It was pretty easy to avoid Zombies by just sitting there waiting for the ones that spawned to walk their path into nowhere and then approach whatever you wanted to approach.
