It is incredibly difficult for most people to find Night Vision Goggles, so why not have an intermediary item such as a headlight (headlamp if you prefer)? It doesn't have to be a "common" item, but it would be nice to have something between nothing and NVG for that equipment slot. It would provide the valuable ability of allowing you to equip your weapon of choice while lighting your way through the darkest of hours. Of course, it will come with some disadvatages; zombies and players alike will be able to see you quite easily if you're out in the open. Despite that, i feel like this item would allow more players to experience the night cycle without having to resort to flares/chemlights which can be a bit bothersome and unrewarding at times.

Was this said before or after they announced the Standalone DayZ? I don't think they plan to add anything too major with the mod now, kind of a waste of time/money for them.

Zombies are spawning much to fast. Clearing areas makes no sense - they respawn like in an arcade game! Very unrealistic. This must be changed.

Seems like just as I clear out an area they spawn, I agree with you. This isn't even in populated areas, it's at little farm houses with very little items/resources. It's not like there's any reason they should spawn literally 30 seconds after i clear out a group of 7 or so. -
Ah, i see. We definetly don't need ghost flashlights hanging around.

I once was visited by a hacker in the guise of a dog, then he turned into a cow, then a sheep. Later i saw him fly a helicopter into the ground near the market in Cherno. Interesting at least.

for a simulator, just don't really see it fitting in at all. -
I'd especially like this for the hatchet, sometimes you just wanna kill those zombies silently, but it is quite difficult when you already have a weapon in your main equipment slot.

Making heatpacks useful!?!? YOU'RE INSANE! Seriously though, I like the idea of snow! Maybe it could slow zombies down a little bit as well; it'll be like a mini-holiday for survivors!

I'm no prgrammer, so I don't really know, but couldn't they just keep the animation and take away the shake? Kind of like how you can turn off headbob in first person mode.

To add on to that, they could even make it so you can hold a pistol in one hand and the flashlight in the other hand. If I'm not mistaken, only the G17 has a built in flashlight out of all the pistols.

Was thinking about it, and as for rarity I'd probably put spawn on equal ground with binoculars. Not too common, but you can find them in Markets/Deer Stands without too much trouble.

Could be a good idea, although most people who pplay on the higher difficulty servers probably won't like it because it's not "realistic". But i agree, traveling with friends is really difficult, especially when you get seperated in a gun fight.

If you fix it up like anything else, I think it would be a cool idea. Would have to take a lot of time/resources though. Also, I see problems with letting players control the train, maybe have its movement scripted. Maybe it could be used as some sort of trading hub for non-bandit players, that would at least give a little bit of insentive to not kill your fellow survivor.

It would have to be VERY rewarding/entertaining if I had to play a zombie for any length of time. Everyone will want to be a human that can still use guns. -
Who needs a horse when you can ride around on a bike like a boss? Seriously though, i think it would be cool to have a horse. Probably have to let them drink at ponds/lakes once in a while though.

I don't really have much of a problem with chemlights/flares, but when you try to cover a lot of ground at night, they aren't quite as useful.

I don't think Bohemia Interactive would let a kickstarter happen. Unless nearly all the proceeds were kept within the company, or something like that.

A lot of cultures eat raw beef, i don't know why all of you are saying it should give 50% or more to "infect" or do other things to you. It's not like you picked it out of a ditch after the cow died days earlier. Now an expiration date that makes raw beef go rotten would be more realistic.
