On the arma servers list (not in sixlauncher) I believe you can see who's on the server without having to get into the lobby, with sixlauncher I think you can't.

From dayz wiki Will my vehicle stay where I left it? You have to Save the vehicle in order for it to stay where you left it. Other people can take or destroy the vehicle if they want. If a vehicle is unused, bugged or left, it will respawn after a minimum of 7 days.

You can find repaired vehicles that other people has repaired and steal them, not sure if some vehicles spawn already repaired, and yes the vehicle and your gear would get saved, but I believe other people can steal your gear and vehicle when you are not playing.

Today I fresh spawned at elektro, got a winchester from a dead player, a Makarov from the church and I found an ALICE Pack so I filled it with meds, ammo, a map, food and drink. I ran to the Topolka Dam, planning to go to Pusta and then Mogilevka. But in Pusta I got attacked by some zeds which made me lose some blood, so I lost them and started running thinking I was going in the right direction, but I have no compass and end up in elektro again, a player encounter with another player made me lose even more blood. At this point I already ate all the food in my pack trying to regain all the blood I could (I was seeing all blury, black and white, and shaking) I managed to avoid the player and went into Pusta again, trying to find some more food, but there wasn't any so I went to Mogilevka. I was about to starve to death when I found a can of sardines. So now I have about 3500 blood, trying to survive, I read the best way to get blood is from raw meat, I have a hunting knife and hatchet but have no matches to start a fire so that's what I am looking for now, once I get them I will go hunting. So here's my question: Where are the best places so find animals to hunt? Or maybe there's some technique like waiting at some point until you see an animal, please share your tips regarding this. I ask because on all the time I've been playing I only saw one white goat (? not sure what it was, it was far away and moving so fast that the animation looked horrible), and I spent plenty of time outside the cities.

With which animaled did this happen to you? I tried with the cow, and got 8 pieces of meat from it, and 1 from a rabbit.

Yes other people have had that same problem. I personally haven't noticed any "lag" in the video so not sure if the fps drops, but also don't spend too much time on big cities. But yea, is not just you don't worry.

I don't think it will make a difference, you could always find a toolbox to steal a "locked" vehicle.

You could shoot the window of a car, but without tools to hotwire it you can't start the engine.

i though you couldn't pick up other players tent, only loot them. Something similar could happen with the vehicles, and the player could have the option to lock it or not. To repair a vehicle you need tons of stuff, to steal one it doesn't sound bad to need only one (toolbox).

One box last forever? I didn't check that, I just logged in to save my character and got out the game. I assumed it was like flares and chemlights, anyway once I am able to set my camp up an extra box of matches wouldn't hurt :P

Finally I found a cow, I ate 6 pieces of meat and now i am at 7000 blood, I saved 2 pieces for when I get hungry so i can get food and blood later.

if you are behind a zed and not in front, you can crouch walk all you want and get pretty close (at least in my experience), it does make sense I mean a normal person can see someone crouched from pretty far away if they are looking in that direction.

I really hope the final release to be a one-time payment only, I don't care if it cost $100, as long as I can buy it and play all I want, a monthly fee would suck. Money shouldn't be involved inside gameplay.

Something weird that happened yesterday, found a crowbar, picket it up by mistake with the middle mouse button, but I didn't drop my winchester. On the gear screen i could see the crowbar as my main primary weapon, but my character was still holding the winchester on his hand, clicked stuff around on the gear trying to get the crowbar in my char's hand but couldn't, then I dropped it and the winchester shows up again in gear as my primary weapon.

I am still at Mogilevka, lost some more blood so I've been passing out every few minutes, but I found and ate some cans of food so I think I wont pass out now. I finally found matches (2 boxes), my next move should be going into the wild to find some animal but i am afraid because only have one can of food left. So I think I am going to Zub, then to Vyshnoye and back to Mogilevka, and repeat that triangle until I find some animals to regain blood, I am currently at 3000. Also found a compass so once I get a tent im setting up my first camp :), have you guys had any luck finding tents in small towns? The only time I found one was in cherno.

Have one, but have no friends :( LOL, on my last char I also had like 5 on my pack but since I am playing solo this time I decided to take only one just in case.

I think sometimes the loot is not inside the heli, it may be a few meters away, or even below it, you need to check the entire surrounding area.

Has rocket said anything about Arma 3 and DayZ? Just saw a thread where everyone is saying that Rocket said they are already porting the mod into Arma 3, but I didn't read anything official.

From 635184 unique players (at the moment) surely some wont like the game or wont "get it", don't feel bad, a lot of people expect the game to be something it isn't, but it is what it is. If you don't enjoy the game you can always stop playing. I was hooked from the first time I played but I know some people that had a hard time starting, they got really mad when losing their gear, or when getting killed by another player for no apparent reason. My recommendation, if you really want to play the game, start by watching videos and learn everything you can about the game, figuring out where you are at and where you want to go is important. So far I've been playing solo, but from what i read playing in a group can make things more interesting, you may want to find some friends or group to play with so they can help each other and you wont find it so "hard" this way.

I was in a similar situation today, I had plenty of water and soda but took all my last 3 cans of food quickly because my blood was so low after a firefight with another player and later zeds attack. I got my main gear on elektro, from there i move to Topolka Dam, there I got attacked by a zed again, I was seeing all black and white and blurry, i had to take my last can of sardines to recover a little of blood. Then I wanted to go to Pusta, but I have no compass and took the wrong direction, end up again in elektro, I had to make a decision if to enter to find some more food, but then I heard someone shooting at my direction I started running from where I came, I had plenty of drink but no food at this point, again on Pusta couldn't find any food, so I continued to Mogilevka, when I arrived by food indicator was already pretty red. After going into every building I couldn't find any food, i was like "ok this may be the end for my character", but luckily I found a can of food on the last building, probably minutes before starving to death. I learn my lesson, drop the stupid flares and chem lights and pack all the food you can find instead before going into a long trip. If you are into a big city it shouldn't be hard to find food and drinks, but inland, things can get pretty serious if you haven't packed good provisions in your backpack.

Yesterday I almost accomplished my survival plan, had tent, weapons, knife, medical supplies, matches, food, water bottles and other items, but a guy shoot me in the head while I was looking for the last iteam I wanted before going to into the wild to camp, the hatchet. So I didn't had a chance to place the tent and create my "camp". I would like to know: 1) When I place a tent, what happen with the tent (and the stuff inside) when I log out the game, and what happen when I die? I mean can my new character go find the previous char tent? 2) If I drop items, let's say I drop some stuff next to my tent in the middle of the mountain, will the items be there when I come back? Or what's the deal with dropped items, how much time they remain until they disappear (if they do)?

About zombies knocking you off, I got hit plenty of times yesterday (with everything updated), and lost half my blood but I didn't pass out, are you using 1.7.2.3?
