Day Z is soon to be dead

WarZ will be like World of warcraft with zombies. Skills, shops, safe-zones, storing items. What a load of shite.

Face smashers still looking for players!

Hello mate, your clan sounds like the kind of clan I've been looking for. I'm just wondering what's the average age of your clan members?
  3. I liked teaming up with people at first but now there is no chat or starting weapon I kill on sight. Reasons are I can't tell if someone is friendly now even if I want to team up with them. Also once I have any weapon I don't want to lose it since I've had to search for it. What are peoples opinion on this? Should chat and/or starting weapon be reintroduced?

No starting weapon or global chat encourage player killing too much?

Thats a load of crap mate. As many posters on here have already said, no global chat has killed in game team play with strangers. It has nothing to do with how stealthy you are. Since global chat has gone I haven't ran into anybody who hasn't started shooting on sight. I shoot on sight every time now because if I don't, I know the other player will get the first shot and I'm not risking that. I'm guessing you have a gang you travel with and use a 3rd party program to communicate with them. Therefore you have no interest in teaming up with anybody anyway. Either that or you kill on sight anyway.

    Radio system with personal number.

Maybe a radio system would work where every person has a unique number/frequency. The option is there to global chat through the radio to other's with a radio but you could also give someone your radio number/frequency. This would not effect peoples immersion because they can chose not to use it. When they dial your number you can accept the transmission or even block certain incoming transmissions to avoid trolling/griefing. This would also stop people eve's dropping to find out your position.

    Radio system with personal number.

The option would be there to global chat. Just like tuning into a radio station. Would allow communication with strangers anywhere on the map. If you want to team up with someone you give them your personal number/frequency. Whether you trust giving someone your personal number/frequency would be your desicion though and could still backfire if they are pretending to be friendly.

    I'm new, looking for 1v1s

You could just go play a game called "Call of Duty", it's a very popular first person shooter. You'll find lot's of one v one's on there. :)

No starting weapon or global chat encourage player killing too much?

I've posted my "Radio with personal number" idea into the suggestions thread. If it get's enough positive interest it might get implemented. Here is the link: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/33937-radio-system-with-personal-number/

Well if everyone is using teamspeak, skype, steam or whatever to chat anyway then why not integrate a chat system into the game? Also radio's can be like walkie talkie's with they're own frequency.

    Radio system with personal number.

Edited the idea a little after thinking about what would work best.

    Radio system with personal number.

Glad someone like's the idea. I think the idea would satisfy everyone. People who don't want to chat or see chat don't have to use it. People who want to communicate in game with strangers can if they want to. People who are worried about giving there position away can speak directly to who they want. Might be too hard to implement, just hope one of the developer's see's the idea and gives it a thought.

Maybe a radio system where everyone has there own number. The option is there to global chat but you could tell someone your number then when they dial it you can accept the transmission. This would stop people eve's dropping and finding out your position, it would also give the option to meet people in game.

Hopefully everyone will start with a radio. It will be up to the player whether they want to use it or not then. Seem's like this is an interesting debate though. My intention with this thread was really just to see if other's thought the game favoured bandit's more than friendly's. Does seem that banditry is over powering friendliness at the moment. I find it hard to be friendly now. The game has turned me into a cold hearted killer. I want my soul back!

No starting weapon or global chat encourage player killing too much?

Well the game had chat and was changed. So by your logic the mechanics should never of been changed therefore chat should still be in the game. Not everyone wants to go through the forums and look for people to team up with. Surely having to do that breaks the immersion more than having no in game chat. I don't particularly want to go out and kill bandit's but, as I've said a few times, there should be a choice to team up/communicate IN GAME.

Stat's don't mean much. How many of those deaths are people respawning to get where they want? How many deaths are due to buggy ladders and other glitches? How many are due to hackers? Take all those factors away and I guarantee the PvP related death's % would be much higher. I'm in no way against PvP, it makes the game what it is but PvP isn't a choice any more it seems. Kill or be killed is what it is.

Didn't think direct chat worked because no one ever responds. What is the radius for direct chat?

    Exactly :)

No starting weapon or global chat encourage player killing too much?

Yes I could but why should I? Random encounters used to be fun because you would have to size the other player up. Now random encoumters are a gunfight.

I kinda agree the starting weapon shouldn't come back. Was just thinking it might of encouraged some teamplay since everyone knew that everyone could defend themselves. You shoot anyone and you could be killed yourself. I teamed up with people all the time through chat. A lot of the time i'd ask friendly and never reveal myself anyway. It was just to let them know I could see them even if they couldn't see me. My choice not to kill them would prove I was friendly.

I didn't know that :) Strange because I never chose to hide my age. I can see your age on your profile.

How can you be friendly with someone you randomly run into without chat? Since the chat has gone I've yet to bump into anyone who hasn't tried to kill me. See I don't necessarily want to team up with people through my whole gameplay. Would just be good if I spot someone I can ask if they are friendly, like it used to be. The game isn't all about killing on sight like some think it is. Sometimes i feel like playing as a PKer other times I don't. Doesn't seem to be a choice any more. I have really good stuff and I kill on sight so I don't lose it. I don't kill people near the coast who have nothing because I know they aren't a threat. I always head north though and everyone up north has a weapon.

I only have one real friend who has a gaming PC all the others play console's. Why should I not have the chance to team up in game with people? Global chat as in writing without voice chat. Voice chat could be restricted to people within a certain parameter. I'm a 26 year old man. The other people who don't want chat back are the kill on sight people anyway. I like variety. Playing as a bandit isn't optional anymore, it's a necessity.

I'm guessing the people who don't want global chat re-introduced always role in a crew.
