We are looking for a few players/clans for regular play on our private hive server, AWE#3. Server restarts every 6 hours (with several warnings). Helicopter Crashes, care packages, random loot spawns, custom starting loadout. We use Gotcha Anti-hack to keep hackers and cheaters at bay.Its always daylight and the server is located in Dallas, TX. Pop in, see what you think and if you feel that we can improve, drop us a line. atworldsend.enjin.com

You want some more progress screenshots of DayZ Standalone?
addleses replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
Truthfully, with a "deadline" of before the end of the year, I would like to see some game play video with the new stuff. Edit for lousy typing. -
In your Expansions menu, ensure you have just @dayz_Lingor and @dayz_lingor_island selected. Do not have @Dayz selected.

Seems less like a hiccup and more like a case of botulism-tainted baked bean gas.

Graphical issues are as bad as ever. Rolled my server back to 1.7.2.4
-
Issues I have noticed in just a few minutes, post-patch. - graphical artifacts are still there - spawned into the game in debug, went to the lobby, spawned back in with no gear/pack/nothing at all, just my ghillie - zombie run speed seems to be nicely normalized (thank you)

Just purchased a server, No Vehicles. Defcon Servers
addleses replied to Moonchild's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Defcon is terrible. They offer no support to the mod or any real customer service to speak of. When trying to get a Day Z server up and running with them, I was told "If you have problems, you need to talk to the mod developers. We only provide the files." After much nastiness, they did eventually refund my money. Vilayer is a much better host, and actually makes an effort. -
Like the netting among the tents in Berezino, this could be an invaluable resource for those who primarily play on one server. This is especially true with the re-introduction of choppers into the game. It wouldn't be a game-breaker, it would help players protect their hard-fought/stolen/found loot, and it could be just rare enough to make one think before applying it. It could be taken down with a toolbox or like a tent, by the person that set it up and it could be a large pack item (6 slots) just like real netting kits tend to be (large and bulky). I am sure this has probably been suggested before, but I saw nothing on the first couple of pages, and thought I would throw it out there.

**Awesome Server Host**New Timchanging feature & Pre-whitelisted | VILAYER

If the javascript is not working for them, maybe they should remove it temporarily. -
Sorry for the double post, but nothing in that video indicates anything is hacked, as far as I can tell.

The "doesnt look legit" weapon was an L85.

We were north of elektro, sorting out gear when one of the Single Player Arma NPCs is heard speaking "Hi, there." This is creepy enough but one of our number gets teleported to the ocean, then back, then back out to sea. I am the admin of the server, so I tell the guys to get out to the lobby. If this is a hacker or something else, I want to restart it ASAP. Following this, I am kicked from every server I try and join. (I suspect this may be related to the steam update, but am unsure). One of our guys did get the whole thing recorded and will post a link soon, hopefully.
-
Yes that fixed the kicking, but the weirdness remains unexplained. Once I get Gibbons' permission, I (or he) will link the video of that whole thing. What I perceive is that he was ported away, and then duped with an AI. I think this because once the duped character was being shot, there was a lot of the blue "Cease Fire, blue on blue!" instantly in the chat. He had all of the original guy's weapons, etc.

Worked! Beans for you, sir!

Tents still duping/losing items 1.7.1.5
addleses replied to kicktd's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Same issues on US368. We spent hours moving tents from one location to another. Saving the old tents, not even removing them for the most part. Yet today (this actually two restarts later as earlier they were still "clean") they were full again. -

Yeah was a huge misunderstanding. In retrospect, its kind of funny, but at the time... The irony of the whole situation is, I was helping these guys move their camp for one spot to another when a hacker DOES come in and teleports one of them to the middle of nowhere, where there is a functional helicopter (big tipoff!). The hacker manages to get his invisible self killed (ty muzzle flash) and we ID him, ban him, and cheer mightily for a victory for the good guys. I am glad these guys turned out to be good folk, and it seems a friendship is born from adversity. -
I located a large mass of tents in the server, and have staked it out to ID its owners. I cannot seem to ban them, but the player name was [MISC]Orang3. The tents were filled with everything you could think of. While a few well-stocked tents are one thing, this appeared to be approximately 15-20 tents. While I reserve the right to return to this statement in the future, I have opened a dialogue with Talentz, one of the guys involved. If it all turns out legit, its fine by me. I realize that a reasonable, adult dialogue is foreign to many gamers, but we as a community need to maybe try it anyway. Edited for reasonable doubt.

Of course this is what you say when you are located in an area of 15-20 tents, filled with literally everything in the game, which smacks of hacking and just spawning whatever gear you want. The logging in and out was unintentional, thanks to battleye script kicking when trying to use the server control panel. The server is currently down in the hopes that the provider will be able to identify these guys and either confirm or refute whether your "camp" is legitimate. All appears to be right with the world. Add to that these guys are reasonable and mature. Withdraw my previous comments. -
This, http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/32290-arma-2-oa-has-stopped-working-crash-to-desktop-fixed/page__hl__%2Bcrash+%2Bdesktop I think there are a few extraneous steps, but it can work. It doesn't work for everyone, but it works for many.

Arma 2 oa has stopped working - crash to desktop: FIXED!!
addleses replied to liamcz@hotmail.com's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
I have done a complete uninstall/reinstall from the ground up and I still have the exact same problem in the exact same place in the load screen. It worked fine last night. I am at a total loss as to what to do. -

Yes. This exactly. Even regular OA crashes at the same point. -
Arma 2 oa has stopped working - crash to desktop: FIXED!!
addleses replied to liamcz@hotmail.com's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
I am still getting this error as well. I followed the instructions explicitly. It goes to the loading screen with the tanks, goes to about 80% on the loading bar at the bottom then crashes out to the desktop. -
A trading server? No shooting, no camping, just trading. It wouldnt have to be all that large... just spitballing.
