I guess someone could have been shooting up the barn with an as50 or satchels or something, but it could have been a script kiddie. I've died and watched friends die to this one a lot lately :( If you hear someone shooting at the wall next to you, log out asap. When he does his script thing, the wall won't stop the bullets anymore. If you're near a military base, chances are there are other players and snipers. Same goes for big cities, water sources near cities, and other high grade loot areas. Imo... could grab a gun and go run up on the popular sniper spots. You might be able to kill a well geared sniper.

Cry quietly. While it could have been a hacker, it sounds a lot more like a known bug. Ppl have already reported it (like http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/24107-spawning-in-the-wilderness-with-absolutely-no-gear-left/page__hl__+debug%20+forest#entry714047 and a few other threads.)

Save it after you drive it off the roof or shoot it. If you don't save a vehicle after it was damaged/moved/etc, it'll be in it's last saved state (ie. rooftop) upon server restart. There is also a master reset kind of thing, but at least for our hosting company, you have to petition to get them to do it.

Guesses: you were hacking, you downloaded dayz (hack?!) software, shared computer, stolen key or BE made a mistake. If it was their mistake, wait a few days and it'll be fixed. You probably weren't the only one that it happened to. If your key was stolen, they'll be able to tell that (they have logs of the IPs/locations that use the key, conflicts, etc). (Uninstall anything "extra" that you downloaded and scan for crap that might be on your computer, otherwise you'll just lose your next key as well.) If it was anything else, you're wasting your time.

Some servers will show the restart times (motd) when you join. Depending on how you launch the game, I think you can also look for "briefing" status, which happens the first few mins after a restart. Make sure to "save" your tent after you set it up.

Log into a high pop server and wait a couple mins for another hacker to script kill the server again. If bandaging fixes it, you can bandage sometimes when you're on the "setup completed" screen.

I've found tons of tents in super markets, log houses and red brick houses. Go to a low pop server, and you'll probably find one pretty easy. Tents are pretty easy to spot from a distance though (unless you're one of those ppl that knows how to get it in rocks or bushes- I never could). I used to store my best items in an ATV; they can be parked in pine tree branches which makes them a lot harder to see than a tent.

We play in a small group. Our first guy in the North found a bunch of bodies... he told us where the bodies were, looted some, and headed to camp. While he was dropping off stuff at camp (camp was fine), a couple of our guys + me finally arrived at the bodies, and we were looting more. That first guy heads back to the bodies to pick up more, and the rest of us headed towards camp to drop off what we looted... When the rest of us got to camp, there was a SUV that had squished all of our 20(?) tents. We had 3? AS50s, an L85, 4? M107s, SAWs, bunch of FNFALs/DMRs/etc, grenades, 1 antibiotics, tons of food/water/med supplies, NVGs, and 3 bikes and an ATV (which was also blown up now). It was a 2-3 month old camp for the group. Then a ghillie suited AS50 guy shoots me, and one of our guys shoots him in the back with an AS50 but ghillie guy doesn't die (he turns and kills our guy). Then our other guy shoots the ghillie guy in the head, and the ghillie guy actually dies. Then a few seconds later, ghillie guy magically appears with our first guy (who is then back at the bodies, thousands of meters away) and kills him. Then ghillie guy shows up on the coast to kill freshly spawned me (again thousands of meters away)... so I go to server with 1 person on it to spawn again... and while it might not be the same one, a ghillie as50 guy shows up to kill me maybe 5-10 min later. Our first guy changes his name, gets to camp, and starts looting the best of the gear left on our bodies. He also studies the "ghillie guy" body to see his name & sees a ton of scripted in gear on the "ghillie guy" body. The next day our tents were magically back, and the day after that, there was a blown up truck sitting in the middle of all our re-squished tents. We decided to abandon camp, and everyone changed names. While regearing in the South, we found that every other player in Cherno and Elektro seemed to have AS50s, SVDs and L85s, etc. It's easier to get good gear in the starting cities than it was to search/loot all those heli crash sites, lol! I'm not even joking... we've found (and lost) more good guns in Elektro and Cherno lately than we did in 2-3 months of playing up North, looking for crash sites, etc.

1. Multiple. Some servers are private. Some are connected to the hive (that mostly just means if you switch servers, you have the same gear you got on the last one). If you use dayz commander, you can "favorite" servers that you enjoy playing on, have a tent on or whatever. 2. No. 3. Meh. Steeper learning curve than a lot of games, but you'll get it. You can do that arma tutorial to see the controls. Hoover over tent > hit enter to take it > go to a flat, open area > right click the tent in your inventory & click place tent ... repeat until it works. > save tent. Fire, drinking, etc everything is similar. Right click the item and an option will pop up (unless there's nothing you can do with the item).

And when you started playing, did you tab out for every item you came across until you had it all memorized?

Same issue, sigh. I updated files a bit ago, and using the same method as last time, I was trying to copy/paste update (http://code.google.com/p/dayz-community-banlist/source/browse/#git%2Ffilters ) scripts, createvehicle, remoteexe again. It wouldn't allow me to save the files. I'm thinking I should stop the server until it's resolved. I don't wanna see players log in on our server and lose their stuff to hackers when we could have prevented at least some of it.

Kinda depends on what you do... If you play on night time servers or take billions of shots, DMR. (If you're going to sit still sniping at night, you'll have to watch your heat.) I prefer as50 (if I'm sniping and have access to one), but I also like to play on day time servers & usually only take 1 shot at a player with it. edit: if you have room, throw the other in your backpack. Then test both out and see which you prefer.

lol, with enough effort any evidence can be faked, and no matter what evidence you submit, someone will be there to cry and point out the fact that you could have faked it. And anyways...

When I googled dayz "cock" script, and it showed up on a few hacking sites; on the first site, it was listed in with some vehicle spawn script. And if you go to the community ban list site and search for it (All issues : cock), you'll see it shows up in submissions & in a filter's patch (status: considering). Anyways, chances are these guys aren't just doing that 1 thing. When I saw lines like this in our server's logs, I also saw them spawning big ammo boxes and what not.

Can go into your bans.txt on your server and manually edit the file to remove his IP or GUID? You might have to "reload or refresh" the bans list afterwards (or wait til the restart).

Yes, plz. If they can't or won't ban the hackers, the should give us the tools (like this) to make finding & banning easier.

You can see your GUID when you connect to a server. If you remember the name you were logged in as, you might also be able to find the ban that way too. Search: All Issues for: yourname Make sure to put All issues, not just open issues or else it might not show up.

I heard there was a seperate Antiteleporting script we could add, but I can't seem to find it (yes, I googled). I updated the bans, remoteexe, createvehicles and scripts texts (adding Dayz Anti-Hax is probably next), but we still had a teleporting scripter tonight. Any link to a anti-teleport or other tools would be really appreciated, ty!

Well, to help prevent 1 from happening (especially if you're going to issue bans for it), you could put a warning in the message that players see when they log in. Like... "You risk being banned if you have or pick up: AS50 TWS, G36, and [whatever other items you plan on banning for]." Our server currently has no plans to ban for such things (edit: though if they did multiple things- like flying cows, thunderdome, etc and also have hacked gear, I will often list the hacked items as well as the other stuff in the reason for the ban), but I'm starting to see a lot more of those items pop up, so I may add a "FYI these are not legit items" in the server message to educate players & hope that they choose to hide the bodies with said items instead of using them. edit2: The only reason we don't ban solely for it is because it's technically against the rules, at least how I interpret them. The moment the devs say admins can ban for having illegal items, I'll be banning for every illegal item from the TWS to soldier skin.

The bans I issued over the last 2 days are just gone. I'm using BERcon, and it's a HFB server. The bans from months ago are still there, but that was done when the in game commands worked (and was done by a different admin). The formats I used were: addBan [GUID] 0 [Reason & Time when scripting started +Date] addBan [iP] 0 [Reason & Time when that player's scripting started +Date] After adding one, I do "bans" and see if it shows up or not incase I mistyped something; sometimes I forget the 0 then the reason/time won't show up properly. The bans showed up fine immediately after I added them. Btw- All of the bans were for very obvious stuff in the server logs... like the guy that spawned literally over 250 bear traps along with other scripts (which I can post the logs if you guys want, but it would make this post 2 miles long + I was going to post the actual scripters & logs in their own thread). I logged in today. Did "bans" before adding the latest scripter (a parachuting cow, teleporting players, heli spawning, dancing, invis, thunderdome guy) and noticed that the bans from this weekend were missing. So... I gave the players warning I was restarting the server & restarted it in hopes that restarting would somehow fix it. When that didn't work, I did "loadBans" but that didn't work either. I added all of the bans back again, but I'm worried they'll disappear again. Yes, I googled and read the wiki and whatnot. Gonna ask the other admin to contact HFB when he gets home, unless you guys have the answer. I'm new to using the BERCon tool; did I miss some kind of save function or something? Thanks.

Dupping and scripting. I killed a guy with an as50 in Elektro the other day (between cafe and market)... he had nothing else but that, ammo, and the starting equipment. Then I went to loot the train station and stuff over that way... found 2x big ammo boxes. Didn't want to open the ammo boxes to check, but I'd bet that wasn't the first gun taken out of them/in circulation now. Then I died looting in the church. Spawned in Kamenka and found another big ammo box on the side of town.
