The only videos I watched more than once were "How To" (like how to use mil dots). Favorite ones are the ones where something crazy/funny happens (but not hacking- just seems boring when you know they can just spawn everything back again).

I did the boot camp first, and it helped me a lot (but this is my first FPS so I had to learn the controls, etc). Plenty of guides out there too. It didn't feel easy to me either when I started, but you'll get the hang of it. Just finding a hatchet (enter to pick up, then right click & remove from tool belt and finally "r" to reload) will make it a lot easier for ya, and keep moving so you're harder to shoot. It's a hassel to make two accounts/characters work on one computer. Husband and I tried to both have our characters on the better computer, but meh. Plus, if you each had your own computer and copy, you could play together.

Yes. If you both get a map though, you can join a server with way points and easily meet up. (Shift left mouse click on the map to set a way point, then follow the green arrow. Have your friend put his way point on the same coords.) Or attempt to make your way to the same town and describe the location- easier said than done sometimes.

Seems good. We don't camp NWA, but we do go in about once a day to look for loot. And when we do, we go in with a plan. I'd guess in the last week we've killed maybe a dozen players and lost one of our guys (it was bad luck really, but we killed the group that killed him). We always loot them, assuming they didn't d/c. Solo... my ratio is not that good... probably 1:1, lol. Though sometimes I only take a hatchet so I can bring back more loots for the group, plus it's a change of pace. I don't get many kills with the hatchet but usually find a gun laying around pretty quickly.

lol I've never asked if he does; never had any reason to suspect. I've never seen him do anything sketchy, and he has terrible gear. We've lost stuff to tent bugs and camp raiders, and he was pissed (why be pissed if you can just spawn it in again? /shrug). He dies plenty and complains the entire time while running back to camp. But sure, anything is possible I guess. For all I know, you could all be hackers. Why would an admin hack? I guess for the same reason(s) others hack? To see a "death match-teleport thing," play with super items, or whatever else it is that hackers do?? Idk, you'd have to ask them. edit: not feeding the kiddie troll anymore. Call it a fuzzy bunny for all I care. You're a touch slow, huh? You can't seem to grasp that what you call it is NOT the point of the thread... it's to report what happened, so the devs can look at their logs and take whatever action they want to.

I'd suggest waiting, and if it doesn't go away, put your gear somewhere safe and respawn. I always check hospitals when I'm near a city, but I've never found any. I've been "infected" twice. The first time I was on a boat without heatpacks for a really long time. Between that and fumbling around in the water to refuel it, I got down to 29*. I was coughing and losing health. After getting heated up, I was still coughing, but after a couple hours of game play, the cough just disappeared. I was able to get to 12000 health again, and everything seemed normal. Weeks passed, multiple deaths, etc. The second time, I have no idea how I got it (42*, running around looking for heli crash sites with no luck, no other players/zombies near). I waited for a while, but it didn't go away. So I just put everything in the car and respawned. Good luck.

Just because you as an admin don't know how to do something doesn't mean that others are equally ignorant. He is an admin and said admins can do it; I trust him- simple as that. And it doesn't change what happened at all. The devs can see the thread and figure out who was doing what easily enough. It also doesn't mean the two are exclusive- it could have been a hacking admin, admin and hacking friends, or maybe hackers and admins can both do this. It doesn't matter what you call it. The devs see all these threads about it, and they will figure it out.

Admins can do it. My friend admins a different server (it wasn't up to date yet so I played on US194 instead). When he got on TS, I actually told him "a hacker did (the above), please bring up your server so I can play there." And he told me that it was probably NOT a hacker. Admins have that power. He, as a server admin, could teleport everyone with no hacks if he wanted but doesn't want his server to get blacklisted. So that's why I posted it as admin abuse. Edit: As for proof, I'm sure they log stuff like that on their side, so all the devs have to do is look for it. I followed the guidelines in the sticky. Screenshots/video were listed as "optional." Edit2: My conversation with my friend is actually why the time I gave is "+/- a few minutes." I didn't know to report it until he told me to do so, and when I looked at the clock then, it was 9:43pm but the teleporting happened a bit before. Also, admins can do more than what you listed- restart servers, set time of day/when servers reset, etc.

There are plenty of hackers in Dayz. I was watching a stream where one hacker spawned a bus and a red truck with a white camper top on the beach. They just appeared out of thin air and since he jumped in one and drove off, I guess they spawned in without needing repairs. The streamer knew the guy was a hacker. (Not really sure why hackers would raid a camp since they can just spawn in anything.) Another ghillie suit hacker lept/teleported(?) off the Elektro hospital to the ground & engaged one of our group members. That group member threw a grenade at him, and one of our snipers shot him. He didn't die. Logged in to friend's server with only 1 other person on the server (myself and the server were slow to update last week & it was early in the morning). The guy just happens to appear out of thin air literally 10m in front of me, in the middle of no where... we shoot at eachother, and I die. It's either super lag/luck or a hacker. And the guy spawning the vehicles was definately hacking. (He also had a crap ton of gear... including a gun that doesn't drop in game.)

Date/Time: 7/21/2012 What happened: Updated to 1.7.2.3, joined up-to-date server (friend is the admin), saw my L85 was missing from my primary wep slot. Where you were: Forest/camp What you were doing: had just loaded in *Current installed version: 1.7.2.3 *Server(s) you were on: US 611, US 200 *Your system specs: Intel Core2Quad 2.66GHz 4GB RAM Win7 *Timeline of events before/after error: We found L85 a couple days ago (previous patch) at a heli crash site. I put the L85 on in my primary wep slot, used the scopes, ran around looking at my buddies through the scopes, ate, drank, logged out crouching beside a tree in camp (logged out through the lobby, etc - did not alt f4). Logged in the next day just to show my husband the thermal scope, and it was fine. Updated to 1.7.2.3 through Six Launcher. Friend updated the server. I waited a couple minutes because I knew the server was being updated, then logged in. Hit "enter" on the num pad to go 3rd person, wondered why my M9 was out, mousewheel & nothing showed up, hit "C" to stand up, hit "G" to open inventory, saw L85 missing. Immediately log out and log into another server (US 200). L85 still missing. Returned to US 611. L85 still missing. Edit: The ammo I found at the same heli site was still in my inventory, the food/drink I consumed was gone, etc - everything on my character was the way it should be except that the L85 is gone.

We have like 12 tents, and sometimes one or two that were full one day show up empty the next. (I don't think it was looters because of the items they took- like crossbow bolts + epi pens vs what they left in other tents like DMRs, NVG, etc... plus it was 100% of the items in those tents... and we had vehicles parked within feet of tents untouched.) It's been happening for a couple of patches. There was also this 1 tent that would always lose anything we put in it. Today, tents had completely disappeared after server updating. Friend restarted the server and the tents reappeared (gear inside). Though my L85 that was equipped disappeared off of my character.

I've lost guns to that, but today I just logged in without my L85 :( . I got the latest patch through Six Launcher, logged in, and my L85 (which was equipped, not in the bag) was just gone. I still had the ammo for it, but the L85 had just vanished. I logged in on another server- still no gun. We had just found it at a heli crash site not even 2 days ago. We still had the other guns we found.

I just want my Ghillie suit back :(
