Will there be any sort of warning on this? (Not that I log in and out a lot, but in the event i for some reason need to log in and out a few times (say i am lagging and reset my router, and then i reboot my computer, and then my game crashes), that's 3 relogs in a 5-8 minute period... I wouldn't want my char to die because of that.

Well.. From the sixloader patch notes i read today, it seems that their aggro radius has been reduced by 20%. I thank the dev's for their prompt attention to this matter, and hopefully this makes sneaking around possible again. Thanks also to everyone who voiced their opinions in this thread, we are helping turn this mod into something great!

well... It's not a guaranteed thing that they are going to aggro.. But they do.. Earlier i had a crazy situation where i was crouched next to a wall, visibility was like 27 or something... A zombie was nearby, in line of sight, he didn't aggro.. but his friend from behind the building on the other side, did. It almost doesn't sound believable, but it happened.. I should start to record my play time so i can post videos showing exactly what is happening.

Date/Time: 7/9/12 / 6:00 pm EST and again at 10 PM EST What happened: Found Ghillie Suit, when I equipped it, not only did it NOT put the gillie suit on my character, but all of my items (outside of my tool belt and backpack ) were wiped from my char. My primary gun, secondary gun, all ammo, bandages, food, drink, anything kept outside of my alice pack and my toolbelt, were wiped. Where you were: Not exactly sure the precise location, but I want to say it was near Dubrovka. What you were doing: Surviving! Found the ghillie, attempted to equip it for further camouflage, lost everything. Extremely frustrating :( *Current installed version: 1.7.2 (found it today after the update) *Server(s) you were on: US90 TX *Your system specs: geForce GTX 580. i7 2.66 processor, 6 gig ram, windows 7 64 bit. *Timeline of events before/after error: Got home from work, had a little difficulty logging in after the patch, got in near dubrovka, searched through some empty residential houses, found the ghillie, attempted to equip it, lost all ammo/weapons, died shortly after because i had nothing to fight back with.

1) I am the OP.. 2) Since then, I've gotten agro while laying prone. C) 200m is far enough in the game that i shouldn't be pulling 4 infected from behind buildings in town 4) I still maintain that this isn't working as intended.

Visibilty is always > 0, so by this token, zombies will always aggro. posts saying that they should agro, do not belong in this thread. this thread is a bug report regarding how zombies can aggro players who are prone in a field with 12 visibility or less from 200m away. If this is working as intended, then I have to seriously question why the dev's would allow a zombie to aggro someone who is crawling very very far from the town.

I don't think that you read my comment. I get aggro from a mile away, without even firing a shot.. i could be crouched, in the forest, and get aggro.. THEN i shoot, and i have a minimum of 3 additional infected chasing me. I understand why they should aggro from noise, and i liked the way it USED to work. However, the way it works now is just plain silly. I shouldn't get hostile infected chasing me when i am crawling through a field 200-300m from the closest building.

I actually have the opposite problem. Not only do i aggro from a mile away, but if i shoot a shot to dispatch an infected in berezino, it feels like i get all of the infected from cherno running to the noise.

Glad to see that this is being confirmed by multiple sources, on what i can only assume to be a wide variety of servers. Hopefully we can get some form of a response from the dev's in regards to their plans on how to fix this.

I don't think that another method of detection is required just yet, I think that if they reduced the agro radius (or changed the visibility stat) by about 50% it would be a happy medium. It would still provide a higher level of difficulty when navigating through towns, but allow people who are running around the outskirts to avoid detection and safely travel from A to B, and then from B to C. There's no reason that I should get spotted by the infected, while in the woods outside of berezino which are easily over 200 meters from the closest building in town.) I love this mod, and I want to see it flourish even more than it already has. I don't want to throw around terms like "game breaking" because in reality, as long as you have a gun and some patience you can out smart those infected.. But, if you are a fresh spawn, and are crawling into town, it's going to be extremely difficult to get yourself established. I wouldn't be surprised if the average life expectency meter on the front page starts to drop from 35 minutes to around 25 if this doesn't get some attention

I totally understand that the visibility factor plays a role in how we aggro the zombies now. However, I am talking about being a GREAT distance away from anything, crouch running (i don't have a range finder, so i can't give a proper estimation on how far away i am exactly, but far enough that i was barely able to see the zombies in the distance with my right mouse button clicked in for zoomed vision) and aggrod a group of infected. and, to make matters worse, once ONE infected aggros, he brings up to 3 friends with him... this is not working as intended (or at least, i hope it isn't). I understand that they wanted to do something to increase the difficulty level when creeping closer to the zombies, but when you are over a 100 or more meters away, you shouldn't generate threat on an infected and his friends, who then run at light speed towards you and give you a hard time... and if you dispatch them (even with a G17 pistol, which is what i've been using) you will then invite more infected to your location). Personally, I think that the aggro range needs to be turned down by about 50%. So that we can still sneak around the outskirts of towns and skip areas completely without engaging hostile infected, but still stop the people from running up and tapping the infected on the shoulder before being spotted. Just my two cents.

This has happened to me as well. I lost all primary and secondary weapons and ammo. Any food/drink that was outside of my alice pack, as well as the ghillie suit itself. Extremely frustrating :)
