    The Zed's might actually be able to alert others. I've had experiences where the shriek of one appeared to attract the others in a close vicinity. This was when I was crouching and not moving.

    How?

    Wait for someone else who is "new" to aggravate all the Zeds, then go hide in a church or tower. Also, always crouch and don't run. Zed's are pretty damn blind and you can sneak past them if you take time.

    I found a Radio

    I've been looking around the map, but haven't had time to check these places of interest. 'Misty Peak' in the top North-West region, there is also a radio tower "Lysnia" a kilometer or so to the West (might be wrong). I also have spotted "Grozovy Pass", which would seem fitting for a evacuation point out of Chernarus. Anyone know if there is anything up there? I'm planning an expedition up there when I can play next.
  5. The new patch is interesting and fun. Took it upon myself to play last night while D3 was dead in the water. Problem is too many new people, and young kids looking for free coding with the flavor of their choice. It is to be expected though.

    Low FPS

    If you are on a server with lots of zombies, that might be your problem. I know that with 350-400+ zombies, my frame-rate drops a few notches. Something that does help me keep around 30fps is a program called Game Booster 3. It's free to download and frees up space for your processor when you run it. I get around a 60% boost. Here's the link: http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html You can also defrag your game using the above program. This helps from time to time I find.

    Good to know. I haven't played since the last patch came out due to this same problem. I thought it was my internet, but I was still getting a high mb/s stream.
  9. I've had similar experiences where I get shot, have a full ALICE pack and the damn guy just walks off. This happens usually on the outskirts of town, so I see no reason to not loot me. Some survivors as well just run past me without even batting an eye. Others its just shoot on sight. Maybe its all just the human condition.

    IF this was an actual game...

    I would buy it only. Now I'm talking not $60 USD, but max $20. I'm only assuming this because I can't see it moving from the ArmA engine to its own thing. Best case, it becomes a expansion like PMC and BAF. Studio development if you know there would be a large player base that would make it worth while in the long run to put money into. Both types of servers would work. They have in many other games, and I don't see why not. Kickstarter is a decent way to gain support, but I don't endorse it personally. Also, I think the well is soon to run dry there.

    This. Or have it so that they slowly fade in and finally flash when you are starving or dehydrated.

    NPC survivors to encourage teamwork?

    It would be possible to make the groups of NPC's have various stance types so that not all are passive and ignore you. This is going to probably be implemented in ArmA 3, as BI has been working on a more immersive AI system that allows for you to actually engage in a conversation with them, and possibly trade, even recruit them to your group. Currently, the AI would only attack you if you kill one or more of their followers, or as I said before, with various search and destroy tactics [stances]. My main point, just wait till the ArmA 3 comes out because I bet a lot of this will be addressed in time for it when this mod is polished and ported to the new engine.

    Character Motivations

    These sound more like 'achievements' than motivations... but I guess they are one in the same now that I think about it. I think they have things planned for these kind of ideas. If they get the group system working, these would cater very nicely. Some more ideas: -Use a blood-pack on a buddy when they are <3000 blood level. -Obtain a revolver. Become the Sheriff. -Try all flavours of soda available. (If they add more) -Eat a can of # different food products. (If they add more) -Successfully trade # of ammo,food,equipment etc. (if the time comes when this is possible) -Visit all the airfields. -Use adrenaline on a buddy after they have passed out. -Help a bandit redeem themselves. -Hunt wild game and give away the meat to strangers. That's all I got for now.

    We need a purpose.

    Okay, well missions would not be directly given to you just like in the ArmA campaigns, where you kind of discover side quests. There would probably be a means to obtain them, and it would be uncommon or rare to find the mission starter. Your main mission is always to survive I believe. That is a hard enough thing as it is. haha This mod is a sandbox, and the makers are treating it as such. They want to give you the option to pursue something other than your own ideas if you choose to do so. That is their job. :) It's all about the rewards. People want to get captivated in their experience, and for some, the idea of "Do anything" works, but other just want someone to point them in the direction of the next important thing. Just my ideas.

    I've always found Morse creepy... So I decided to teach myself it. After decoding the message, I'm not going to look at the game the same. It really has become a horror game for me. I don't know what to think of the locations [deer stands] though. I think it will time for more problem solving in the future. I always mistake them for bandits...

    I took a peek at the files and found a outline of the missions... They are planned, but just give the team time to make them proper. In the mean time, practice surviving.

    This game just got creepy. On the note of the "Detective", I've seen it's name appear in the chat one night around 3am Eastern time. They posted something weird that made little sense, and I didn't really take notice. I can't wait to see what the official story is behind everything.

    Rewards for high humanity

    You get a halo! Nah... I'm sure it will be implemented when they get a faction/grouping system going. Maybe you need a certain humanity level to be a leader in the good/neutral factions? Maybe at a certain level of high/low humanity, you can survive a bullet that might otherwise kill you? Just some quick thoughts.

    One change that could make this mod soooo mcuh better

    I much prefer the cities, even though my chance of getting shot goes up by 300%. Wandering out in the wilderness to the North has little payoff, and the villages are much harder to actually fins useful things. The coast cities also are there to not totally frustrate new players, and give them a choice in the matter of staying or leaving with their loot stash.

    Flares and Your Safety

    Just a idea, but I do believe that giving a stack of 10 flares is a few too many. I have purchased some roadside packs before and they only come with a total of 6 flares of medium luminosity, all lasting for around 20 minutes each. Reducing the stack to 5 or 6 would prevent the need for only carrying around one lump sum, thus making you choose, in another hard decision, whether to bring another can of beans out in the wilderness or pack of flares to scare away wild animals. Luminosity could stay the same, as the brighter ones tend to last half the time [which is already implemented].

    Real Food cycle from Real Daytime Cycle

    I unfortunately can only play at night, and even when I am free for a few hours during the day it turns into a waiting game for someone to drop from a local server. /end rant In tune to this topic, a 2/1 ratio of hours would be nice, but the realism for us East coasters in North America is neat. Okay science time, explaining things that people already know. Also, I understand the eating and drinking thing perfectly. The amount of sneaking and running you do with your character would amount to many calories being burnt. I think a typical can of beans has from 300 - 450 calories, which is mostly carbohydrates composed of a lot of fiber and sugars (assuming they are the yummy kind). You burn through the sugar quickly when performing physical activities. Fiber, well we all know what that is good for. haha (could be wrong on the sugar thing...) Now for water. I personally drink over 6 liters a day, and that's just because I'm genuinely thirsty. When I am working physically hard it goes to 10 or 12. (Keep in mind this is just from my experience) /end science rant In closing, night time is when this game shines, but I do miss the sun shine...
