I would like to propose a voting on the "auto complete journal VS manual complete journal" thing...

Zeds should not move in players general direction until detected
bladerunner replied to a topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Don't know about the aggro, but my strongest suspicion is that they walk towards you because they DID detect something indeed.. they're just not sure what it is and are they going to investigate. At least in my experience, this kind of behaviour only happens when zombies are relatively close (5-10mts) and not when they are 50mts away -
I took this for granted

I WOULD go for the following: -Run faster (or longer) after several *real* hours of sprinting (as in training your legs). -Steadier aim or faster reload times after several *real* hours of shootin' n' reloadin'. -Better medical expertise after patching up many times. The curve being steep enough not to unbalance PvP but still 'feel' like you are making some physical progress... I don't think he's asking for Skyrim or a dumbed down version of DayZ. These are just ideas, lay down the flame-cannon people...

+1 for this! I already wrote my thoughts on THIS thread, which I came across first but is basically the same.

A little addition to make things a little more... 'personal'
bladerunner replied to KEEPCARLM's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
+1 to this. I was just thinking this myself yesterday when I came across the "notes" section when you press M to see the map. First things first.. as already noted: The map seems to share the landmark notes of anyone who added them in any other map. As in "mega-wi-fi-map-thing-network-thingy"... To the subject at hand: I would enable the aforementioned "notes" section to the purpose the OP suggests. A freely editable writing space without the need of a map or anything else (at least at this stage). Now what I hadn't thought about, was the possibility of leaving those notes behind when you die, to be picked by another player. That is simply genious! My original idea meant that maybe the "file" which saves the contents of the notes would be saved locally, in the player's drive -to avoid server flooding- and somehow linked to the character or cdkey at the start of each session. My concerns now are that if these notes are attainable by others, they might eventually overload the server or the hive with information, or something like that; and more so if the notes can be left willingly in the form of post-its or stickies or whatever. EDIT: I don't think that automatically sharing statistics is "realistic" and therefore a good idea. UNLESS the original owner of the notes has chosen to manually write them down. -
[ Game purchase only ]. (F2P sucks unless it's really free, and monthly fee makes you feel you're wasting money/time when you're not playing) [ Studio developed ]. (Not sure I understand the differences in this, but I feel the creator's vision is spot on, though I like community feedback) [ Community servers ] (EDIT: I had forgotten this.--- The servers should be regulated to a degree so as not to have "KNIFE ONLY" matches and crap like that. Maybe a few studio servers too?) Kickstarter is certainly an option but I feel it's over-saturated right now and "spoiling the soil". And I don't know many other ways you could finance this other than external producers. Can't hurt to try though, right? Kickstarter I mean.. As I was typing I saw this guy's post and thought... "well, why keep wasting time". These are my thoughts exactly:

This game is so f*cked up!

um.. I don't want to be as agressive... chill out and try another server. If in the end it doesn't work, you know this isn't for you. -
Hotfix Build 1.7.2.3 Rolling Update

This is an exploit right? I didn't know this. Has it been going for long? I do recall a time when I tried to loot my own body after I had died and it was gone; I didn't disconnect at all in between.. :( -

Don't join through Six Launcher. Do it by opening Combined Operations and browsing the servers in "Multiplayer" (you might have to add a few parameters to your shortcut for the game to recognize both the beta patch and DayZ. This can be found here http://dayzwiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=How_to_install_DayZ#Make_a_shortcut_to_launch_ARMA2_Beta_with_Steam_Overlay_.28Optional.29 -

Yes, that is correct. At least as of now. Maybe tomorrow you can play with 94945. EDIT: the beta folder is in the "Expansion" folder mate! -
Hotfix Build 1.7.2.3 Rolling Update

My experience with 6UPDATER is slim but i would assure you that it would automatically update the files to the LATEST build. So no, I don't think that's possible. The manual process is pretty simple though, and nothing to be afraid of. Download 94876. Execute installer. Go to steam/steamapps/common/arma 2 operation arrowhead/Expansion/beta and copy arma2oa.exe. Paste and replace in operation arrowhead folder (might wanna backup older .exe though) and that's it! EDIT: yeah, pretty sure you have to delete your beta folder clean previous to executing the installer. Sorry! Ignore it and keep installing -
