Latest beta patch. Latest DayZ patch. Six Launcher My Specs: GeForce GTX 670 AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Processor 8 GB RAM Windows 7 64bit ... I have almost constanly below 30 FPS. Lowering the settings does not increase my FPS. What is wrong? Everything else works just fine. [Edit] http://img6.imageban...71616040706.jpg [Edit 2] My solution for the problem: Another user posted in the forum that he dusted his pc off and then it worked for him. I opened my computer and dusted everything off, a couple of days ago though. But this time I opened the cooling of my CPU, and beneath it was very much dust, which my vacuum cleaner could not reach and I did not see. Now I dusted it and shit works very smooth now. Full settings and always +30 FPS, mostly 40. Great. I love it. So my advice: Software-wise nothing helps? Your FPS is still low? Open your PC and clean every corner, beneath, on top, everything. Very much recommended: Open your CPU, beneath the fan hides a lot of dust you might not even be able to see with the fan on top of it. [Edit 3] Yeah... too soon happy. FPS still < 30 again, even with lower settings. Don't know why... god damned [Edit 4] Current status: Lowest settings: http://img6.imageban...71716072896.jpg (17 FPS) Highest settings: http://img6.imagebanana.com/img/r6hypcux/ArmA2OA2012071716100039.jpg (14 FPS)

Does your backpack plays a sound in real life when opened? I don't think so. Ever heard about pickpocket? -
Devblog update: Where is the Standalone?
Takas replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
We need this. All of this. -
Great interview. Content-wise I am a little bit disappointed. Like stuff that I would consider extremely basic and therefore important to fix before the initial alpha release aren't coming till later. This includes 1) Zombie AI [and more different types of Zombies] 2) Walking down/up hills and stairs behaviour 3) Indoor walking behaviour / moving around corners => Currently it's simply shit 4) Player skeleton => Please fix before release. Getting killed by doors... srsly, that's not something that should be postponed. All these things I consider basic, because that is stuff everyone has to deal with by the first minute of gameplay and thus jugdes the quality of improvements made based on what they experience the most.

Devblog update: Where is the Standalone?

Run the wheel, run it hard! -
I just want some information... and I don't understand why only rocket is the one that must provide information. There are other people on the development team, are they unable to write? A short tweet, one or two sentences on the forum... anything. It is not too hard, and I am not even demanding any release information here, but basic information. What are they currently working on? Any issues? What is on the roadmap? Even a "Nothing to report folks" would be fine. Just give us anything. The information policy reminds me of any other production studio out there: Bad.

Will rocket give us a Christmas present?
-
On reddit he posted "DayZ standalone is fine, and I'm looking forward to updating progress. But first things first, many people depend on the DayZmod - paying for server rentals etc. So I and others have an obligation to see this all goes smoothly."
-
Well. I suppose. If it could be finished he could just confirm that via twitter in 160 characters and it would be fine. A blog post can be delayed then. But since it might not be released this year, he needs the blog post so he can explain why so that not everybody rages like a bitch. Special tactics.
-
Entertaining I have to admit.
-
rocket, what about combat? Any changes? Will I be able to shove advancing Zombies back, push them to the ground, and shit like this?
-
Valve probably is the best company in the world. Look it up at what they do, how they treet their employees, their working scructure, company vacation, family treatment... and Steam is awesome too. Stop bitching, never-satisfied children.
-
What did you do with the "v" hotkey ...feature that made you jump over shit?
-
Oh, wow. So many players then. Hopefully everybody is up for the standalone ;) Thanks for the quick response.
-
Within a couple of hours the player counter on the main page did a skip of 300,000. Two times. It was like on 1,6mil and now it is on 2,3mil. I highly doubt there would be such a wave of players this time around. It seems bugged. Anybody from the Web team can confirm that?

Wild birds and their use in game.

I love the idea. +1 -
rocket likes Steam. It will probably be available there. But I guess Boheim will offer a steamless version mainly for direct download at their homepage. No retail version planned. Release in Alpha state before winter holidays this year.

You shouldn't comment WarZ down like this. We all know by know that it is going to be a different game than DayZ, but who says that it will not be enjoyable? When it comes out, and depending on their pricing model I will give it a try.
-
You shouldn't own a server. You shouldn't have powers. There is no common sense in DayZ. Stop being a moralizer. What you are saying here is exactly the problem with server owners, you are the judge of good or bad when you really shouldn't. Play the game or let it be.
-
Being an asshole or whatever is completely acceptable in DayZ. Your argument is invalid. The only reason to kick/ban somebody from the server is hacking. If you ban someone for something else you are violating the rules. This is DayZ, everything is allowed besides hacking, and it won't be a serious issue anymore in the standalone. This is the problem. You have morals and you will act accordingly to them as a Server admin, and you will violate rules, because you think something is good or bad. This makes you a judge. You are not a judge. You are someone who invests money to play a game you love. Nothing more, nothing less. If you want power, go into politics. DayZ is the wrong place.
-
That doesn't make sense. Server admins now have little power and can only ban when they are online. This implies a serious hacking problem we currently have. In the standalone this won't be the case. So why should server admins have powers? What is the point? Power will be abused. That's a fact. Under normal circumstances you do not need to do anything with your server at all. Server admins now do not prevent hacking, they simply ban after things happened. There is no prevention at all going on right now.
-
Hopefully server hosters won't be able to do anything with the server but host it. Nothing. People abuse power, we have seen it here happen a lot. Admins don't need powers in a game - especially when hacking won't be a serious issue anymore in the game. So people can't pretend to ban "hackers"... or "restart" because a "hacker" was on the server (camp being robbed, resetting vehicles). And I am saying this as someone who also has an own server.
-
Well, I guess it should be possible. There are private hives and those should work on LAN too. Don't see the difference with the standalone if they don't change the current concept of server management.

So... I just broke -1,000,000 humanity.

Yeah... sniping starters with a hacked weapon. That's pretty cool bro.
