  1. @tickle_me_jesus: Yes, I have tried your options, though already earlier. Not sure if it was also mentioned in this thread, but I saw it somewhere else. Unfortunately it didn't help. Also: Yes, you hurt my feelings - but just a little. @Epsilon 349: Tried your config. I think it did indeed gave me a slight FPS boost, but I am still in cities around 20, sometimes even at 15.
  2. Too bad that you don't understand the reference with 60 FPS. This was to show that it is not my hardware that is causing problems, not that I want to play with constanly 60 FPS. I just want them at least at 30. If you had read the thread you knew my intetion. I just want to play. Nothing more, nothing less. No beans for you either.
  3. Again: The problem is not me. It's definetely Arma2. As I stated before everything else works just fine. BF3 on highest settings with 60 FPS. Also, it is not the servers. As I said in this thread earlier: I always play with friends on different servers. They never have FPS issues. I am the only one, and they have not a computer that is as good as mine... I don't know what the deal is with this shit... why can't it just work? Not even blaming DayZ or Alpha... just Arma2 Engine.
  4. Anybody else new suggestions? Problem still remaining.
  5. I've now completely reset everything. Deinstalled everything and deleted every remaining folder. I've started the game up. Nothing changed. Yay. :|
  6. Low FPS, sure. But above 30 please and not in the lowest settings possible. Just for the reference: I just installed Battlefield 3 again, put everything on the HIGHEST settings possible, and I am never below 40 FPS. Average 60 FPS. What the fuck is Arma for a shit engine? I've tried everything... how can it be possible that I am one of the very very very few with my hardware stuck on such shit settings and FPS? Seriously... this annoys me.
  7. Thank you for your screenshots. These help alot. I was configuring as you told me and it did not work. I then tweaked around a little bit in the settings, probably everywhere and everything, and it still does not work. Too bad. Thanks for your effort though. I appreciate it. In 1680x1050 in lowest possible settings I have 30 FPS overlooking the town... I don't know... I am losing my hopes and I have been trying everything in the past days to get it to work... nothing really helps. (The settings with the NVIDIA Inspector gave me a very very little FPS boost) This is just depressing...
  8. It's not the servers, it's me. It's on every server the same. Also, I am always playing with friends on the same server whom do not have FPS issues. I tried these settings, and looked in the pastebin... nothing helps.
  9. Tried your options, exactly as you said and I still have in cities only 15-20fps. I also tweaked your settings a bit, put Video Memory to default, and VSync "On". Nothing helps... I am kinda losing hope here. If I set the texture quality from "Very high" to "High" my FPS even drop further, about 2-3 fps less than with higher settings... on "Normal" again 2-3FPS less than "High" Lowest settings: http://img6.imageban...71716072896.jpg Highest settings: http://img6.imagebanana.com/img/r6hypcux/ArmA2OA2012071716100039.jpg
  10. I tried these options, but I am yet again rarely above 30 fps... this is just ridiculous...
  11. It works now for me. Another user posted in the forum that he dusted his pc off and then it worked for him. I opened my computer and dusted everything off, a couple of days ago though. But this time I opened the cooling of my CPU, and beneath it was very much dust, which my vacuum cleaner could not reach and I did not see. Now I dusted it and shit works very smooth now. Full settings and always +30 FPS, mostly 40. Great. I love it. So my advice: Software-wise nothing helps? Your FPS is still low? Open your PC and clean every corner, beneath, on top, everything. Very much recommended: Open your CPU, beneath the fan hides a lot of dust you might not even be able to see with the fan on top of it.

    FPS issues

  13. I've used your tutorial to setup DayZ for Steam launch. No fps increasement. Here are my video settings: http://img6.imageban...71616040706.jpg Again: It's just funny and sad with regard of my specs that this does not work...
  14. Just tried it. Switched monitors, both 24". My is AOC, the other BenQ. Didn't change a thing :( The FPS drops by the way especially when I am moving. While standing still I sometimes have 28, 29 or 30 FPS, but when I move it goes down to like 24.
  15. Turning off SixLauncher when I am in the game does not imrpove my FPS. My resolution and 3D resolution are the same, at 1920x1080. If I lower them to 1280x720 it does not improve my fps. I have looked into some other threads about optimizing my ARMA2 settings, by configuring these profile datas. Nothing has helped so far. This is just weird... why should I not be able to run this above 30 fps without drops?
  16. ^ I don't know. I still think it would be the best solution to force servers to update in order to receive character information from the hive. If the server requesting the data does not update within 2 or 3 days, said server will not be getting any character information, thus will be useless. It will force owners to be up to date with all patches, betas and whatnot.

    idea for a starting weapon

I think spawning unarmed is currently the best solution. The game style encourages you to play stealthy and defensive, which I like. But you are not forced to do so. You can always run into the next house and hope for a weapon. Zombies won't chase you down completely. And if you don't find anything... try again in the next place. Repeat. Profit.

    Experimental 1.7.2.1 test patch

Any ETA when the patch will be ready to deploy?

    Alter ego

Confirming alter ego bug. Happened to me and a friend I was playing with. I am telling just about my experience though. Where you were: N/A What you were doing: Switching servers *Current installed version: 1.7.2 *Server(s) you were on: Various *Timeline of events before/after error: When I switched servers it currently happens that I spawn with a completely new charcter and old progress was lost (for example the server crashed and my old save of the character was not loaded and gave me instead a new one). Another time I was shot by a survivor and I left the server after I died. Then I respawned and quit. Then I joined a new server and had a character save from two days ago. In this case I am not sure if I hopped between 1.7.2 and 1.7.1.5 servers. This might have been the case. In general I can tell that I am currently having extreme troubles with saving and loading of the right character. Happens a lot.

    Infected Aggro Radius

Confirming this bug. Playing on various 1.7.2 Zombie react to me very far away, even when I crawl. They also seem to hear through objects when they aren't supposed to. Night doesn't seem to lower their vision. Very vague information, sorry. Was running for my life all the time.
  21. I like the idea of the crash sites we currently have implemented, but I would go even a step, or two, further. [1] Make the helicopter crash an event, randomly triggered on the server. The helicopter will appear in the sky, normally flying, then it will undergo heavy troubles, start to rotate and eventually crash into the ground. This would not only look cool, but also has a game mechanic value. This event can be seen from a medium to large area. Therefor many players would see it, and react to it, as this is something special. Not only players can see it, but hear it too, obviously, but in a large to very large area. Players across the server will swarm out to get to the crash site first, or pick up whatever is left. Obviously, the loot should be good to very good. What would this do? Bundle the players from a certain area in one hot spot. This would lead to confrontation and action. Those who take high risks in order to rush to the site can be rewarded by good loot, or be punished for it by being uncautios and dying. Others, who take action in a more cautios way can still pick up players that also want to the crash site and loot them. Nobody will be forced to take part in this event, but it offers opportunities. Those who do not want, just carry on with their usual business. This is my basic suggestion. I think it would add a nice touch to the game, though I do not know if this is technical possible. [2] However, I have an addition to this suggestion. I excluded it because it could/would be pretty game changing, thus requires even further discussion. A helicopter crash would, as stated before, causes a lot of noise. Not only players will be attracted because of the potentioal loot and other victims, but Zombies also find this noise curious. Spawned zombies will swarm out to the crash site. Not all of them, but a good portion. This will increase the danger for the survivors trying to get to the crash site, but, the kicker is, that the rest of the area is underpopulated because a good part of the Zombies are marching away. Therfore, there is not only the possibility to grab good loot at the crash site, and slaughter some other survivors, but you could also decide to sit back, let the others fight it out, and you just pick up the loot at other locations, that are normally perhaps heavily guarded by Zombies or camped by other survivors. I think, this would add great diversity to the game. But, I would not make it a too frequent event, but perhaps once or twice a week on each server? I don't know. This is to be discussed, though I am pretty sure this should not happen on a daily basis. No tl;dr. Read it, don't be lazy. Feel free to add, comment, or whatever you want to do.

    Helicopter Crash As Event

I will bump this once. Don't know if people actually read the topic since the maintance.

    Zombies running

I agree that Zombies need to be more predictable, and their movement speed decreased when they charge on you. It is simply very hard to aim at them. Someone mentioned L4D. Yes, they swarm around you in the higher difficulties, but in a way that you can predict pretty much. They know the way they will walk and circle out. As a player you know then where the zombies will walk in a pretty sure manner. Also, they walk as fast as you do, and when they swarm around you, a little bit faster so it is possible to do such an operation. I love the AI of L4D. I hope we will have this in the future too. Zombies in the moment are just a hassle, not fun slaugthering, especially not enraged.
