Currently it is really a hassle to find a vehicle. They spawn extremely rarely and it is very frustrating to search for one. Even server hopping does not really help, since you can switch the server twenty or thirty times - in view of a vehicle spawn location - and still not have found a vehicle. It's just not fun, and you have to consider that server hopping is not even a wanted game mechanic. Imagine the hassle to find a car when you cannot switch servers like that. It's like you will never find anything. Even in a broken down societey you will find tons of cars everywhere, they will just need repair. It's just not fun. Please buff the spawn rate of vehicles. Just the vehicles. They can still be broken down as hell and need repair, as long as I am able to find a car without switching servers like a maniac... it would very much be appreciated.

So what's that for an argument for using this outdated engine? It's not. We need something newer. As I said earlier in this thread I really do not care what engine, as long as it's not the current one. It's old and doesn't run as nearly as smooth as newer engines that only require half the resources ARMA II does and yet provide far better graphics and physics as well.

Frostbite 2.0 doesn't in Battlefield 3. I run it at full settings, hop in a helicopter and fly the shit out of the map. 60 FPS. With graphics that are 3 or 4 times as good as Arma2. Yeah, the RV engine isn't shit, because it's taking too much resources. I just have to invest another 300 Euro for an outdated engine. Makes perfectly sense. It's not like I run everything else on the best settings. If it can't run on mediocre or high PCs without dropping < 30 FPS, it's simply requiring too much resources for something that isn't there. What is it loading? A couple of sprites in the background? When I am in the school in Elektro, and look to the ground, waching a low-res-resolution grey texture, I am below 30 FPS. Tell me how that is a powerful engine. No optimization whatsoever. It sucks.

Groups will always have the advantage to keep their vehicles since they can just move them, thus not let them respawn. Why not just give vehicles a chance to spawn at their destined location, even though said car has been horded somewhere. This will increase the number of vehicles in the game make it still able to find some of them. Also, I get the feeling that those who are against increased spawn rates are those people that horde cars and don't want other players to have them too. Since then it would be easier to find their hidden places in remote positions. In the current state it is almost impossible to find a car at it's spawn location. This is not fun. This needs to be fixed.

Yeah, like Arma2 is able to perform anything that the other engines can't. Graphically it's just outdated, by years. It's shit. Deal with it and don't try to suger candy it. I run GeForce GTX 670, AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Processor and 8 GB RAM and drop below 30 FPS in the cities. Don't tell me my PC is not powerful enough for it.

Yeah, like I haven't looked at the DayZ map and just randomly switched server looking into the woods, hoping for a car to pop out. Obviously I was at the spawn locations of them. You did not state an argument as why not to increase the spawn rate. You just said no.

I really do not care if it is Frostbite, CryEngine, Unreal 4, Arma3 or that other one from Square Enix... just, please, please, not Arma2 Engine. It's complete shit. It takes up so much resources for outdated graphics...

Na, Arma 2 is just a dipshit engine. Very badly coded. I just hope that the Arma 3 engine is going to be improved. Rocket, take Frostbite 2... or the new unreal engine. :3

Just went on top of the hospital roof in Electro. Sweet 11 FPS. I don't know... I am really considering quitting DayZ until the Standalone comes out...

Is the attack behaviour of Zombies undergoing work? They walk extremely fast so you cannot shoot them - also, because they walk unpredictable or just pop out in front of you, or behind you. Also, their attack animation seems to not be fully animated, as they kinda skip some frames when they bitch slap you.

In the moment you cannot walk through doors sideways, you know what I mean? You have to go completely straight, otherwise you get stuck. Will this be fixed anytime soon? It's just a minor thing.

Well... I can tell what I will do when respawn is disabled without a spawn location choice. Run in the first Zombie and let him have his way with me. Repeat until playable spawn area. Doesn't sound like fun. :| [Edit: Though I want to say that this kind of communication with the community is simply great. Keep up the good work!]

Wait, wait. Does this mean (* [NEW] Respawn button is disabled during DayZ play) that for the next patch I will spawn when I am dead and then I have to stick with my position? If this is the case, I would perhaps consider the possibility to delay this new mechanic until I can choose my spawn location. Don't you think?

Yes, please. Choosing a spawn location is the best way to solve the annoying respawn issue. I would very much like such a feature.

What is the reason to not let players respawn until they reached a place they like to start at? I do it all the time if I die so I can play with my friends. What is the point when they are in Cherno and I spawn in Solnichny? I would have to walk down all the way, which would consume a lot of time. This is not fun. Realism okay, but mechanics that prevent fun? Do you really think that this is the best approach?

Still need solution. I followed a guide on /vg/ and I rarely drop below 20 FPS now. That's an improvement, but given my hardware still a sad accomplishment. Anybody else have an idea perhaps? How can I provide Arma more power? It doesn't take nearly as much as I can provide.

Tents not saving inventory and dissapearing

1.7.2.3 / 95208 US 8 VA 20min ago Went on server, build up tents. Put gear in. Server announces restart in 5min. We save the tends and disconnect. We reconnect, all gear gone in tents. Also, we put up before restart a tent at a location we didn't like and took it with us again. After server restart said tent was standing there again.
