ok thank you very much,but I haven't received a mail neither it's in my spam filter (gmx).. but no problem, now I have the info I needed most. bec is possible also.. very good! we already have a server, but the lack of control like not able to change the version to 1.7.2.4 and no BEC.. it's all against keeping it longer than the month we've already paid -

I've written a mail to their contact about the possibility of having a server with it's own database (private) about 3 or 4 days ago but have not received an answer yet. so is it possible?? -
No vehicles spawning on new server.

we've had our server started around august 7th and the vehicles appeared around 8 days later. and no one has done anything to make them appear or not. our server started as 1.7.2.4 and was updated to 1.7.2.5 by the hoster, when it was released. -

try to restart the server several times when they get back to the spawn.. i had about 3 or 4 restarts with vehicles now.. only 1 didn't work correctly. but the inventory and the things you change in a tent after the first saving of it do not work. so i asked our provider to switch us back to 1.7.2.4, as this seems to be amongst problems with vehicles positions a problem of 1.7.2.5 (http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/68181-1725-tents-and-vehicle-inventories-not-saving/) -

wait till around day number 8 :) greetings from DE 1619 we also have issues with saving of inventory and sometimes vehicle positions (1.7.2.5/95885).. -

sometimes switching hdr to very high and then back to normal helps me.. didn't have the bug before 1.7.2.5... -
I didn't have the graphic bug at all until 1.7.2.5 ?! ati5850 / newest driver..

I can see into two log files on my rented server: arma2oaserver.rpt and server_console.log will actions of those kiddies doing stuff like bombing using scripts and so on appear in those files? -

what kind of bypass is it: the player name doesn't appear ingame at all? or the playername isn't in any of the logs? and why are battleye and server logs the same? you really say someone spawns something or moves players and so on, it it won't be in any log at all?! -

@party: you've forgotten the second part of my sentence ;) -
vehicles should be traceable in some way (maybe gps update every x hours), that would make it much harder to hide them and give some more motivation to search for them. now with the problem to even find them, it makes no sense to make hiding even easier.. if they wouldn't always be caught and brought to some places outside the normal playing areas, I think a hiding option maybe worth a discussion.

as long as it's in, it would be stupid not to take the full advantage of it, and then still the camper/sniper has most probably the advantage. for this it would be cool to have a server side option installed to remove 3rd person in certain areas or situations (especially the greater citys/pvp fights)- but I think it's not going to work (technically). so either on or off.. I'd prefer off, for the situations where I'm in a PvP fight, but on is easier on the eye when running around and gives you a better look on the landscape :) I'm the only one of my friends even considering - and having played on- non-3rd person servers, though they agree with me about the unfair usability for snipers, they like the 3rd person mode more for playing. maybe it could also be removed when lying down, would it make a bit harder for some snipers on roofs, that only show, when you don't look at them while theyhave the overview over a street (for example) all the time. -
wrong. maybe not all hear them, or they don't hear every shot- but some came to my position when I wiped out a zombie village with my m249 the other day, standing on a deer stand and enjoying the great view over the town ;)

to my experience you are the one to get killed when you spawn rather than being killed by spawning people.. I made the mistake to log off in a loot building once. when I logged in another time, when my ingame screen was appearing another player was already hacking me to death! so he must have seen me before I've seen the world. so much for the "advantage" of spawning somewhere near players ;)

have you done the latest updates on arma2 beta and so on? since it's latest update I also fully recommend the dayzcommander, now the pinging works good. it can save favorites and remembers the recent servers by itself, in a case when the global server database is not reachable, you won't need to manually connect/search for servers, if you already have them in there :)

I think one interesting aspect could also be the dog/wolve finding you easier than the zombies, so you would be forced to defend yourself and in this way attract other players / zombies by being forced to shoot. you all know the feeling of hearing gunshots somewhere: might wake your interest or make you head to the opposite direction ^^ in my opinion it could happen a bit more often outside the big towns. perhaps you could also calm down the dog by throwing them a peace of meat? ^^ though don't know if this is no a thing that only works in movies ... ;) a tracking dog would make lying around and snipering harder, because you would have to defend yourself and make noise which reveals your position and you're forced to move on. again just some thoughts.

what about the ingame server list, is it the same there? in normal circumstances the ingame list is much faster and more accurate than the two programs, indeed imo that's their main disadvantage, because they need long to ping the servers and show me way too high values. the ingame browser is 10 times faster doing it and the pings are more realistic,just to add this, though I think it's a problem with gamespy in this case since the servers were completely unlisted yesterday for "mainencance reasons"..

yeah the bow could be optimized and a quiver is needed. nothing against the idea of finding only one arrow but 1 arrow per slot that sucks. if there will be more enemies like the zombie dog, maybe even more attrackted by noise, the arrow might become a much worthier weapon than it is now.

playing AGAINST other humans is what is the most greatest factor for a good game.knowing you play against another human gives the greatest thrill. so I think you need to have both the cooperative part and the competitive part and should try to expand the qualities of each of these by adding new elements. the lone wolfs can be perhaps considered the "3rd way", while they don't need to be much cooperative, they have to be the more cautious, because they cannot risk getting in trouble with a whole group (normally). what do you think?

we could have to kind of "dogs". the town dog and the wolf in the woods/hills. wolf could be howling in the nights, have glowing eyes and would be very bloodthirsty ;) no matter what, I voted for the forests because, these are so empty at the moment and a little thrill could be useful there ^^ but you have to consider, if the dog is faster than the zombies, and you just got into the game and have no weapon yet- how to get rid of it then?

I'm sceptical towards a standalone game. I always liked the mods more than closed games. mods can be develepod together with a community and are free and the communities grow with the mods. people can be more creative and it doesn't get all too much into the economic logic of having to sell. there is more room for diversity. just look at the battlefield series: for battlefield 1 and 2 there were so many mods and some of them better than the original game. many of them seem to have inspired the original game studios for their following main games. now with the closed version and all the money making efforts it's all gone. so I hope you get it, what I've tried to say, is that games open for outside developers/communities and the resulting mods are way cooler than closed standalone games :)
