Rocket and team are Lazy/Incompetent/Do not know what they are doing.
Mortal Wombat replied to TheDee (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I'm asking you , would it make ANY sense for a company to invest a large amount of manpower and money into a free MOD? Even considering the money they earned by selling more Arma2 Copys? They are going to need that money to finance the development of the Standalone DayZ game. Noone in their right mind would invest in this mod considering that you've got a full development of the standalone game ahead of you. -

And did rocket get any money out of this...? No? Jeez think before posting. Also I meant giving constructive feedback to the developers. Calling the OP a retard was just my personal opinion which is still remaining. Oh and considering that you obviously didn't get the point of my initial post: You don't seem very bright to me too :) EDIT: And as long as noone is starting to contribute some veritable arguments for the OPs assumptions and expectations considering the development of this free Mod the whole discussion is useless. - Rocket got no money out of this. - He's employed by BI now - You bought Arma2. Not DayZ. Hit me. -

You sir, are seriously retarded. I personally wouldn't give a shit what rocket says or does because I didn't pay for this MOD(!!!!!!!). All you guys complaining should get your shit straightened out because you are playing this MOD for free! No Charge, nothing, nada, niente. That actually means, that absolutely NOONE (exept for the developer also known as "rocket") has a saying of what's happening to the mod. He could just stop developing the mod/kill the database/flip us all off because he's done this as a hobby so far. Luckily he'll get the opportunity to show if the concept of dayz will actually work on an industrial/global scale. And it could turn out to result in an awesome sandbox MMO :) So I sincerely hope, that he puts ALL his effort into developing the standalone game because I probably WILL pay for that. Just play the damn game if you like it or play something else, but don't waste your precious time by ranting on about ridiculous crap on the forums. You might even be able to contribute by giving ACTUAL constructive feedback. -
Why are the AS50 and M107 in the game?
Mortal Wombat replied to scott24z's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You carried high powered rifles and entered a city at the coast. The only reasonable explanation for you being there is that you were going to kill other players. You had absolutely nothing to win in that city considering the risk vs reward ratio. And in a post-apocalyptic world with things like military vehicles and bases around: Would you expect, that there are absolutly NO 50cal. rifles and so on? Jeez I would expect people to drive around i fucking tanks or APCs. That would at least be more likely than flying around in choppers. In addition to that: hand guns and assault rifles are waaaaaaay more common than high-end sniper rifles. -
Have my Beans! Great tip, works perfect!!!

This game is going to shit if we dont do something soon
Mortal Wombat replied to ZERQER's topic in New Player Discussion
Stop talking BS. This is the new player forum, so let em whine if they want to. It's a phase everyone of us has gone through since this mod has been released. Was it bright to go up to that guy? No, but understandable considering that he's a new player. He learned the lesson everybody has to learn in DayZ: - Cover your ass. - Trust noone. - Shoot first. That is the state of the game as it is right now. That doesn't appeal to everybody and can be very frustrating at the beginning. Especially when you see all those nice vids on youtube where people are grouped up and do all the cool stuff. People who see that think: "hey cool I wanna do that too! Looks really awesome!". They buy Arma 2, download Dayz, finally manage to connect to a server and pick up their first gear. Then they see a fellow survivor and extend their greetings, hoping to finally see all those great adventures they heard from.... and get shot in the face :) So you just have to give new people the opportunity to rant here and share their experience with the community, as long as it's more or less constructive. DayZ is a type of game which most people are very unfamiliar with and that's what the "new players" forum is there for (not only for that of course). There are people who take their time to explain why this game has to be like it is because, apparently, they have nothing better to do... or try to gain some karma because they shot some poor noob for a can of beans 5 minutes earlier. And there are people who scan the forums to shoot out some dull sentences like "goez back to cod no0b! ahhahaha", "hardcore yeah, lone wolf and shit". Because they (also) seem to have nothing better to do. But unless the OP is a whiny little bitch and not able to discuss the matter in a constructive way... I think the better way to deal with it is the first alternative. -
Noobs getting sniped in cherno/elektro is not as bad as some people think

That's the "dilemma" all DayZ Players are in. -

true, is that an individual setting or is it disabled when you play on a veteran/expert server? -

Mortal Wombat replied to ZERQER's topic in New Player Discussion
This game is all about experience. You experienced now, that a lot of people will kill you for whatever you have on you. Some don't even care what you have, they just want to kill you. Next time, be more vigilant and don't approach people who scope towns with sniper rifles... they are NOT looking for friends :) -

Mortal Wombat replied to ZERQER's topic in New Player Discussion
If you meet a murderer and greet him friendly, salute him and do the friendly dance.... he will still be a murderer. You should have been a little more skeptical when he didnt respond to your greetings and aimed at you with his sniper rifle instead :) -
Found a ghille suit, decent gear. Now what?
Mortal Wombat replied to Epsleck's topic in New Player Discussion
There is no real Endgame yet. But apparently it's Rockets next short term goal to implement one. :) (7:00) -
Yes, there are bugs. Yes, the game can be frustrating. When I started this game I was whining and frustrated that you don't start with a weapon of any kind. Avoided Zeds because of the ONE time I tried to sneak past them, they saw me and killed me. So I wandered around the wilderness and checked every deer stand for weapons and food and stuff. Eventually found myself an AKM, frag grenades and enough bullets to waste a whole town. I also stumbled across some barns, supermarkets and villages. Never had to shoot ONCE. So the irony of finally having a weapon is: you really really don't want to "have" to use it. Sure you feel safer... but shooting attracts zeds and therefore you'll have to spend more of your limited ammunition. And ammunition is essential for surviving because the worst thing you can attract isn't the zeds, it's other players. So I walk around the landscape very proud of myself (getting a little careless) and then what happens? I get shot and lose everything. So what was it worth, running around for about 8 hours and eventually losing everything and having to start over? Well, after I respawned it took me only 10 Minutes to find a weapon and supplies. Because after my first try I knew where I had to look and how to sneak past Zeds. I knew that I had to move with more caution and that I should always be aware of my surroundings. Etc.. etc.. So now I'm stuck in cherno, near starving and trying to find something to eat and not get shot by a player or eaten by a zed. ^^ But it's exciting and unlike anything that I've experienced in any other game. This game get's increasingly enjoyable the more experience you gain by doing the classic "try and error". Losing gear isn't very dramatic because you can get your stuff back quickly. The experiences you make in this game can very well be dramatic and that's what's fun about this mod.

I think they're up to date, but I'll check :) I was thinking about GPU overheating, but the lighting effect when you're wounded or low on blood seems to have multiplied this error. I don't know how a black&white effect could have worsened gpu overheating. But I'll check on that too! Thanks for your qick responses!
