  1. basically they dont like me. i am opinionated and i speak honestly.

     

    the mod was probably one of the best games i played on anything for last 5 years. really great work rough but very enjoyable.

     

    the standalone for me and stop labling me a troll cause i dont worship every sentance that is put by a mod or devs has been slow in development.

     

     

    you have done more than i put ill give you that but.. has it really altered what the mod achieved ? not really. it did money wise it made you millions got rocket started and fair play as said the mod was brilliant.you deserve success for that.

     

    its just the standalone has become to overly complicated. many who loved the mod and the simplisticness and this is where many devs go wrong with games.

     

    they make something that was simple into something that isnt to provide depth.

     

    depth to what ?

     

    the core theme of this game to many is get food drink murder people start again.

     

     

    no matter how many sets of clothes, hats, tins of beans you left with the same basic scenario. this scenario you trying to escape while developing this game is costing time and money.

     

    i look forward to your progress i really do but has your development been on time ? no. has it been well planned and gone to schedule = no . has what you added made the game better = no .

     

    you may think of the clever little tweaks and such but the core simplistic nature of this game you are missing and just covering with uselessness.

     

     

    remember thats just my opinion. no need to go hes a troll cause you disagree. that just shows how you cant accept others views. it makes you look narrow minded.

     

    how can you make a better game if you cant except criticism ?

     

     

    i mention breaking point alot you may keep saying oh it uses dayz code from mod but guess what ?? it works ! it looks stunning as good as standalone its pretty simple to play and the inventry and ease of playing it is what makes it good. as said key to a good game is simple.

     

    anyway ill let you do whatever call me as usual ban me cause you cant just state your opinion like me but just have to abuse power.

  2. as a player its been very slow. i think the team honestly under estimated the project.

     

    obiously theyll say they didnt but look at what the mod does and whats in it and look at the SA .do you think that in the current form it shows a years worth of work progress ?

     

    one vehicle, numerous hats ? thats all.

     

    mods like breaking point have more in and are free and achieved pretty much the same on no budget.

     

    so not overly impressed. i think it will get done but at no great speed and by the time it is done others will probably have done what the team is trying to achieve during the same period of time.

     

    zombies arnt better look any better moving either.

     

    before mods jump n my post i paid for my game i am just hnestly speaking on how i feel. i love dayz but the progression if you can call it that has been way too slow .each build that goes up you think has this team got millions extra for this over the mod. which is still the better game.

    The thing is Mos1ey and SmashT are constantly proving you wrong, posting links to relevant information whereas you are just singing your song like a stuck record without any evidence to back up your claims.

     

     

     

    One would expect to see some evidence of BI being money grabbers, but let's just pretend it's the mods who are trolls and not yourself, right?

    that is the correct pricing of private shards from multiplay. he hid my post either didnt read it or look. if he did look he would of seen that my link is not the same price as the OP mentioned. so all he proved is hes hidden my post without reading the content properly or just assumed it was a troll. it wasnt it was the actual pricing of the servers. which wass the topic of discussion.

     

    there is no evidence needed its in the link. normal servers are a third cheaper than private shard servers.

     

    provide evidence to show the money that is extra on top is being used to maintain servers or isnt just business. it is business.

     

    a popular game they know that private hives will be more used when its out than vanilla so they came up with some great business idea to exploit this. thats the truth.

  4. Are you planning on backing any of this up with logical reasoning or am I just wrong because you say so?

     

    Like I already explained - private shards require more resources. They can run fewer servers therefore they obviously can't offer them at the same price... There is no conspiracy here. If they wanted to rip people off, they'd just make all the servers super expensive.

    simple thing is this . does it cost one third extra on every server they rent to cover the cost of te private hive = NO!

     

    its that price because they know like the mod this is what most will want and be mainly donations from groups of people . so they will pay it. all the bs about it costs that much it doesnt. a few extra servers would manage the data but they seem to be charging one third extra on every sale to compensate :lol:

     

    its not like each server they rent or each 3rd server needs a server is it ? so basically its just for profit. they are businesses thats what you do its just the they doing it for the resources bs i cant take. just say its business im happy with that.

     

     

    also if you know otherwise post what extra servers are needed to man the hive and details so we can see the actual figures. ;)  .


  5. Well I obviously don't have access to the DayZ server files so it's hard to say with any amount of certainty, but I would have thought that they can run considerably fewer servers per box and the extra cost is to reimburse them for that.

    lets cut through the bs . just because its private its being milked.

     

    it doesnt and wont cost the extra third they are making money from doing so. lets not make out they not .

     

    they could provide the same servers for the same price but they are making money they are a business,

     

    i did link the prices before and linked to multiplay. so stop saying i didnt.

     

     

    basically they have looked at how dayz is.

     

    noticed what groups do and know private hives will often be run by groups who donate to play on those type of servers. so they have added the extra on top.

     

    the stupid thing is they are pricing the servers to dear which means less servers.

     

     

    funny thing is if you own your own dedibox you could do it yourself . lets see if that changes then you will know if a deal has been done and somekind of extra fee is applied.

    private shard servers are a third dearer than normal servers for no reason !

     

    admins are just hiding posts illustrating this. go to multiplay check the pricing.

     

    there is no technical reason for charging you a extra third for the same thing.

  7. You could just go play Left 4 Dead if this is what you want, you know?

    This is not your normal Zombie-Game - it is a Survival-Game and the extra horror is created by the Infected lurking about. That shoes are going to degrade over time was already announced by rocket even before the Early Access was even available on Steam.

    None of the points you are bringing forth is really suggesting that you want to play DayZ the way it's meant to be and even though you're claiming people want something else (which I doubt is the case with the actual DayZ-Fanboys) - I am very happy that Bohemia is producing this, as it will never go the way you want it to go.

    I didn't really have anything to add to my post, which is why I am juswt going to quote this post, as it sums it up quite nicely.

    go play left4dead because its not what you want. well thanks for that. is that what happens whenever someone dissagrees with what is being done ? go play another game ? how about no ! i paid to play this game. i am giving input and i dont like shoes degrading. its as valid point.as valid as yours.

     

    the thing is BI have our money. they can make whatever they want from the game now. im just hoping and stating my opinion so just because you already have our money you dont just put out any old shit cause you can.

     

    thats the problem now they have the money anything can be done no matter what people think. it doesnt if the game bombs cause yep they got our money anyway.

     

    so its win win for them regardless.

     

     

    as for people suggesting hrs for shoes to degrade and then people saying realistic :rolleyes:

     

    shoes do degrade but over a long period of time not ! hrs or few days.


  8. It is not even clear that his implementation will be in the final game, as everything is subject to change. This is the very reason it's not worth raging about it. And the feedback being brought forth in this thread isn't constructive feedback about this very early stage of the implementation - it's essentially just "Devs are shit, shoes don't wear down in 30 minutes of game" - and this will not be accepted. Not just because it's a very one-dimensional thought and lazy at that.

     

    If you can give constructive feedback leaving out the time it takes to wear down a shoe and how it's implemented at this time you can discuss it all you like. I have given you reasons as to why not discuss the time.

    no its simple. people dont want generally shoes wearing down. look at the main focus of why people buy this game . its for zombies and killing things period. everything else is sidelines.

     

    you have umteen messages about everything in the world. why ? what has that added to my dayz experience ? it adds frustation and rage as i didnt buy shoe simulator i brought into this ip to shoot kill zomibes and survive not check how my shoe status is or if im cold or wet every two seconds.

     

    i do come across as a **** but thats because it seems that the lack of understanding what people actually want is being disregarded.

     

     

    you want to know the simple basics of what people want. you see the walking dead series on tv . thats it ! that mirrors exactly what people want from a zombie game. why ?

     

    for eg early on all lovely lets work together. move on a season not so trusting. now kill everyone.

     

    people arnt bothered about shoes !!!!! or other silly things. the more you add little sidelines people just question why ? why are you wasting time on adding useless additions which in general most dont want (fanboys will want/like whatever you add regardless)

     

    i get you want to make Dayz more than spawn shoot someone in face but the audience wants shoot in face kill a load of zombies not shoe maintenance . you only have to look at the history of dayz on servers to see all the busiest servers on the mod were kill pvp servers.

     

    understand the people who want dayz and what majority want. watch walking dead analyze it notice the changes they have made and why !!!

     

    they have changed the most recent series because people dont want silly shit they want action and zombies. its all relevant.

  9. Considering this is the very first iteration of item-degradation and this mechanic being tested in experimental build I don't want to hear anymore "the degradationrate is unrealistic".

     

    It's not supposed to be realistic, it's supposed to be tested right now.

     

    The rate of degradation is high up there to check the effects on the player, the health and any major flaws with the system popping up.

     

    If you think this mechanic breaks your experience, don't play experimental. There is no point coming here complaining about something that is supposed to be tested right now, so please don't.

     

     

    Also - - you know exactly that you're not supposed to do this and you know exactly you have been urged to use MultiQuote.

    so you want people to test shoes but not rage or have thoughts on it ? go play stable if you dont agree how stupid is that. the point is many dont want this added fullstop nevermind dont play/test if you dont agree. listen to people .

     

    its basically we adding it regardless whether you like it or not deal with it. the point is many wont want it. things is you dont want people saying this because its being added anyway so lets just forget it.


  10. It's a first implementation of an absolutely necessary mechanic.

     

    I'm very interested in seeing how it develops. Different footwear should allow different running speeds on different terrains, and have different levels of comfort, waterproofing and durability, eventually.

     

    It'll add a lot to the game, especially in its feeling of authenticity - the condition of your feet would in reality be probably the most important consideration in this scenario, after food and water.

     

    EDIT: of course you should never die from having bad feet, but that could be said about many other mechanics that are/will be in the game as well. Sudden unconsciousness/death from any and all maladies is something that needs to be changed at some point - but I'm assuming it will be?

    the thing is with every gret idea does it translate to good gameplay ?

     

    in many cases it just complicates gameplay.

     

    when you play many games you realize that you want things as simple as possible not more complicated.

     

     

    people are talking about show damage shoe speeds is this now shoez?

     

    how fast will shoes deteriate ? i know that a decent pair of trainers will last a year even with light running is that going to be the case in game ? of course not they ll speed it up which defies the very realistic point that people are trying to argue to even add this !

     

    concentrate on getting the basics right first. leave shoes alone.

     

    as for losing health from shoes wtf ? really. as said the time you would need to spend running and even on rough terrain to damage your feet would take a lot of time more than avg person even spends in dayz. before the shoe specialists come in cause there is bound to be some i did running and athletics daily for many yearss to high standards and cross country and orienteering.

  11. Running with ruined shoes and barefoot is the same, it will hurt your feet and you lose health.

    hopefully the devs dont go overboard with this.

     

    you have so many messages popping up on screen now as it is.

     

    you havent breathed

    you havent eaten

    you must go toilet

    you must sleep

    it is dark

    that is a zombie

     

    sometimes just playing is better than hand held or told what to do every 2 secs.

  12. Servers are crazy expensive at the moment, hope that will change soon

    unless the game bombs the servers will stay pretty expensive. its normally done on a per slot per player expense and dayz has a highish number per server.

     

    unless you have access to your own dedicated server box which is somehow free or very cheap.


  13. wait till game has more in. running servers are expensive time consuming if done rightr and you want to get it busy. many people dont realize how much effort goes into getting one popular and think its just a case of payiung for it and then it magically fills.

     

    at the moment there isnt much to lure people to play on your server as most are identical. so i would wait for shards to get established and more content then jump in .


  14. I quite liked the point someone on here made some time ago.

     

    You only have a flashlight on you so new players wouldn't be completely lost upon logging onto a night server. If it wasn't for that, you would start out with nothing.

     

     

     

    What's the point of a mobile phone? There is no carrier coverage without electricity.

    whats the point of a torch in 24/7 light ? there is no dark in 24/7 lightworld.

    It's been stated and shown quite a few times already in the status reports that the V3S will be the first vehicle.

    i asked a geniune question now its a troll ? how many times have bikes been mentioned as the probable first vehicle addition.

     

    i havent seen V3S been mentioned as the first vehicle to be added thats why i asked.


  16. why do people always just think of vehicles as transport ?

     

     there is so much gameplay connected to them. maintaining them / getting them to work collecting parts. finding them , driving them . often groups will have them so you have to engage often in battles to get them . so many different aspects to the game and not just you drive round in them.

Yep unfortunately that number has no real relevance to development progress, as someone else said the would just extend the decimal for internal builds....hit 1.49, ok lets do build 1.491 and so on. As for speed of development, lets take a look at what they have done since alpha came out...and il miss things here for sure...

     

    Hunting

    Cooking

    Crafting

    X amount of new towns

    New Navmesh

    Loads of new content in item form, cloths, weapons, tools whatever

    Temp system

    Fishing

    Persistence

     

    In fact the list of things we are waiting for is getting shorter and shorter...

     

    Vehicles

    Barricading

    Engine upgrades

    More zombies

     

    Once 3 of those are in what will the mod have that SA doesn't?

     

    Now look at what they have done in less than a year, and whats left to do. Development is going fine and they have plenty....and I mean plenty of time to get everything they promised in before full release :)

    out of all of those you listed what have they really changed about the game ? not much.

    Hunting (not really needed can just get normal food)

    Cooking (not really needed can just get normal food)

    Crafting (just thing of moment not needed )

    X amount of new towns (just alot of samey buildings reused with a couple of new ones)

    New Navmesh ( i am looking forward to this hopefully it does work !)

    Loads of new content in item form, cloths, weapons, tools whatever (many hats unneeded and other clothing content gives artists something to do)

    Temp system ( not really needed more annoying than anything )

    Fishing ( i guess it kind of works but most people will just get normal food )

    Persistence

     

     

    only things that will really change this game much is the addition of barricading and vehicles. also good zombie path finding and navmesh.

     

    just remember the mod has most of all that has been done for one year plus.

     

    i look forward to us entering beta though.

     

    when we look at standalone the real issues that wasnt solved with the mod still havent been solved with SA.

     

    zombie pathfinding

    vehicles

    basebuilding

    fps performance issues

    zombies hitting through walls

     

    so all this time the main issues are still not addressed.
