arma 2 cpu intensive game on the whole dont get a laptop for gaming !

when i first tried arma i thought what is this piece of shit ! i used to laugh at others who played it :lol: when i got into dayz though that all changed and i ended up playing other mods and loving it ! still don't like the original game though and its really the mods that make the purchase worth while. B) so without mods nope with mods some of best gaming there is on pc :)

so basically shut down a thread already about it to open another which will do exactly as the other did :lol: = genius ! anyway back on topic ... :) the standalone , me myself and i are not really to bothered about when its released ! what i do not like though is devs responses in 99.9 percent of games in or on there forums. its like a politicians answer always . never is there a straight forward answer. look in rockets last few responses on the topic when asked hes basically gone on about how he has had 20 hrs sleep , high blood pressure and other bla bla . sorry this isn't a soap people want to know about the game sorry this is his job there is stress with any job not just rockets. suck asses will be like yeah hes bla bla leave him alone give him chance . look , it takes seconds to write a paragraph on here which would calm put people at rest on how /where and when the SA is going when its going alpha. that's thee simple truth. maybe all the business/spin is whats making his blood pressure rise ;) keeping things simple talking straight wouldn't weigh on him. at end of day rocket isn't the sole person people should put the weight on though he is the "poster boy " for dayz . the business people behind it dictate how its going to start / end . my guess is steam are like yo we want it for this date and whats the deal bro. steam will play a big part in this games sales. remember this game is money not love like any other game. so my prediction is now steam will want this to launch during a big sales period forget what rocket wants steam will say that will be the launch date. so few months yet. january alot are skint so feb minimum

well could you please update us rocket for christmas on where you at with standalone ? alot thought after the "december " postings from you that the alpha may start but with this nearly gone can we atleast know where the standalone is for christmas ? :) would be a very nice christmas box for us rocket :D also if people knew then maybe with current deals on the normal version we play now if its not going to start in next few weeks they could purchase combined ops and play this version until it is. this is win win for you and is not a demand ;) happy christmas all :beans:

i will buy the the games just annoyed that as usual its just the normal devs response to any real questions asked about there game. did think dayz with it being a mod was slightly more undev like . i guess i was wrong .

well it kinda happened like i said it would in a previous post if devs arnt ready to release they mumble words like a politician trying to word things cleverly and not upset people. it doesn't work and tbh just stating clearly your intentions would be a refreshing change in gaming world. i said there would be either mumblings or the game would come out in alpha and what is here ? mumblings and reddit bla bla. i feel sorry if he has high blood pressure but... if he is in charge that's his job his duty . that's what you get paid for . it doesn't cost any money or sanity or extra pressure to just say okay guys SA wont be released for christmas we had problems we will try for jan or feb not some mumblings diluted through other channels. you might think im being a bit harsh but i really not bothered what you ate for breakfast or had 20 hrs in bed a sleep. haha biggest thing people come to read about is news on here and the one question YOU KNOW everyone wants to know about and you tell people about going to sleep for nearly a day :lol: just tell people what they want to know about its not that hard really. suck asses will mop that im going to everest shit up but people who enjoy and love just playing dayz really dont give a **** what a dev does. sorry im just a honest person who speaks bluntly .

what some may not get is alot will be considering or have held off buying combined ops to play what we play now like me for eg i may need to 2 more copies for my sons to play but if standalone is out in next few weeks then is it worth waiting those few more weeks? so like me and many others who have been told to wait for standalone if its been put back months they could buy the combined ops pack and still play and get monies worth for three months or so if thats the case. hope some understand this and realize that alot of sales could be generated by answering the all important question of when its out. if i know i can either buy 2 combined ops packs today but if i did and then next week its annouced its a week till standalone your gunna be pissed.

im enjoying the normal mode we play now (mainly playing namalsk and taviana) just would be nice to know whats going off and seeing as its christmas it would be a nice gesture to all dayz players knowing whats going off. sort of a christmas box from rocket to us all ;) if we cant have standalone for christmas atleast we may know when we may get to play it. like said before if he says og its not for few months then those standing off buying the combined ops packs will probably purchase those while we wait aswell. alot are holding off just incase standalone is next week or whatever. so its a win win for everyone and also a nice gesture :)

melee weapons should be a priority tbh mechete , sword , baseball bats , metal bar , no not left4dead style but they would be common and used . maybe a bat would break after so many hits or a mechete could get stuck in zombie . would make for interesting times.

ahah cant believe this thread has only just aired i have mentioned admins have way too much power for ages they can see where stuff is on te server so no point in hiding loot no point in hiding full stop if they want to know where you are either ;) also say ones injured and playing on his server needs blood ? no problem they put blood in there bag !!! no admin should have these powers over anyone ingame even if they run server basically if they want they can basically have what they want and track anything they want where as everyone else cant. huge advantage over players playing normal and a large oversight made by the mod makers. would be very intrested to see what rocket would do on this front. not all admins are dirty or abuse these tools but why even let them do it in first place ?

just normal dev response everyone does it basically never confirm anything unless you know its done. he knows if its wrong hell be lynched.loads of words when all you need to say it aint done yet chaps.

this tbh the amount of people who cry about low fps then you see they run on a ancient cpu. there is no magic fix if your hardware is outdated ! you ideally want a fast quadcore minimum for arma for comfortable play. i for eg had a phenom 955 quad at 3.7 and it was decent but since upgrading to a [email protected] ghz the minimums are almost double in fps that the older phenom got. so dont waste your time with magic fixes leave magic to magicians and just upgrade ;)

well bit of last nights play :lol: no edit just bit of fun gameplay if you want to join me and the others on a busy server you could add me on dayz commander friends (dgeesio) or pm . we mainly go looking to take on groups on and loot and take vehicles.

if im honest as long as things are a bit smoother quicker im already happy look forward to news this week on whats happening B)
