totally superflous suggestion is totally superflous hit caps and whistle, or better yet say 'I'm friendly' - whistling is ambiguous or salute or sit down or lower weapon or point pistol at floor, freelook up or wiggle Q and E for those saying 'direct chat is too small', you know that direct voice is 80m right? that's already a shout if you're stuck with direct text's 40m (iirc) then spend $5 on a mic or use the one on your iphone (totally possible, google) - ARMA doesn't need more hotkeys, but you really need to be able to talk, because you can't miss a sound, but a little bit of text in the bottom left corner? yeah, everyone misses those -
a CZ550 has 800m zeroing and packs a punch but the scope is unwieldy; I'm not comfortable to use it within 500m the DMR carries more ammo, has a variable zoom, mildots, considerably higher rate of fire and delivers nearly the same damage, though practice is required due to the lack of zeroing (well, min zoom is zeroed to 100m and full zoom to 400m, but still, you need practice to know that) oh, the DMR can be used with NVGs the M107 carries more ammo, has variable zoom, mildots, a slightly higher rate of fire and will one-shot a perfectly healthy man at 1200m, which is the limit of its zeroing the AS50 is an M107 with a mad turrible scope there's an FNFAL with an NV scope - that's basically a DMR with burst fire and night vision, though the scope is less agreeable and there's an L85 with a scope that does thermal or NV - our group has one and we use the thermal scope to scout and spot threats - the lethality of 5.56 NATO is minimal, and in the game the M16 ACOG is, imo, useless - there's too much kick for anything but semi-auto to be accurate beyond 300m and 5.56 NATO will only pepper your target, serving only to make his steaks more satisfying I use the DMR, eschewing the M107 cheap (:P) zeroing and CZ's bizarrely over-zoomed scope

anyone wanting a K/D should keep a DiaryZ Ander, what % of the player base are currently carrying the rarest items? NVGs Rangers L85 TWS ? which is more popular, the M107 or DMR? what percent of players are carrying a melee primary, and how many who do so survive more than six hours in game? and, if it's possible to determine, how many players use LMGs when they find them? I ask because everyone in my tribe eschews LMGs, no matter the circumstance, but I adore my mk48 -

spawned in some trees 500m south west of stary saw someone running, he was shot at by a leinfield fired by someone only 100m north of me through the trees a few minutes later I saw the guy with the lee looting a nearby heli crash I didn't shoot and let him run away through the trees to the west, towards a friend of mine my bud was unable to get eyes on the leinfield bandit, and, thinking enough time had passed and it was safe to regroup with him, I headed west as I moved through the clearing I was shot and knocked down by the leinfield while I lay bleeding out my arma client crashed to desktop, saving me i feel like arse, should I respawn? -

ZdB has put together a comprehensive thread laying out and defending the advantages and pleasures of group play but I read the whole thread and I leave depressed: so many responses that determinedly refuse the truth of his words, for reasons. I never thought I'd empathise with Jehova's Witnesses... Kolchak, imma have to make you tear up you see, I run in just such a group every day, we've got brits, scots, germans, danes, a lithuanian, a couple of american vets... and we all met in game half the group formed on my second night in Chern: I sat on a crane and threw flares to lure the nubs over a quarter hour, half a dozen makarovers stumbled onto the dock, killing each others' pursuing zeds and swapping names after things quietened down, I descended; a torch-bearing messiah come to throw back the night, dispense fully automatic justice from my M4A3 and lead them to the promised land, to Balota airfield for lootz and now we got each others' backs [to mitigate the self-aggrandisment: I was a total noob, I had just found a rad gun and my excited naïveté encouraged me to share - I didn't realise the risk until I had six fresh spawns gawping at the M4A3 saying 'I want that gun' :p] and Kolchak, you shouldn't look at handicapped veterans and addled stoners as dead weight, you should delight in every success and make every adventure into your own Forrest Gump ZdB might like to add: - when one spawns 22km NW of 0 0, another will run/ride/drive/fly from Cap Kratoy to deliver food and water before the glitch-ee starves out in the wastes -

Turk, your copypasta is quickly getting boring, starts with two spelling mistakes and is not relevant to the thread, please stop OP's idea has been suggested many times, often in fuller detail the counter is this: DayZ should not restrict players' behaviour artificially a better implementation of skills involves a D&D-esque levelling system - players start out terrible at all things and through some mechanic (skill books, practice, whatever) improve themselves -

to piss on datguy's self-righteous parade, here are my last three lives a) DMR and mk48 mod0 with all gear (NVGs, rangers camo, coyote pack, GPS, ect) - 11 murders, one bandit kill, 530 zeds and 11 days on the clock after maybe 40 hours in game I died to a random ak on a hill, my buds avenged me and split the loot b) none of my mates wanted the mk48, so I crept north and retrieved it - turned out to be useful: before I'd shot a single zed it murdered someone racked up another three murders and died after two dayz/six hours to some ghosting cheater c) I took a few days out to cool off after meeting that weaselly little shit I when met up with my tribe again, one of us stumbled onto another group's camp and walked away with a spare M107 I didn't like it though, so when we found a crashed heli with rangers, a DMR and mk48 I made the switch I'm now five days/25 hours into this life and have taken NVGs off one victim, a coyote backpack off another and hacked some poor woman to death when she refused to say hello @pfcWilliam yeah the mk48 is lovely oh my god so lovely gotta keep finding them choppers bud, we just been getting lucky here's the mk48 kill that earnt my latest NVGs -

oh, sorry, I apologise for being ironic to say it plain: murders are nowhere near as predominant as these identical whinge threads make them out to be @Ramboness, you might be on to something, beans should only spawn in heli crashes and should only keep your belly satisfied for ten minutes wild animals should fight the player, charging them with their horns (yes, rabbits have horns) and require a full 200 round box of 5.56 NATO to kill water should be poisoned with lead, arsenic and human waste, it should only be purifyable by veteran players who have obtained an majored in chemistry at Cherno U ofc bandits should be deployed in battlemechs armed with homing lazer missles now that's balance -
