got killed in one of those random 'super strength' 12000 blood insta-kills in a house in grishino yesterday UK7, ~2:30pm, shooting zeds on the stairs in the only orange enterable in grishino, didn't even think the zeds could reach me, suddenly dead two mates sat on my body as I ran from kamarovo (bullshit am I letting a glitch take an M16 with 7 clips, a PDW with three clips, an M4 CCO SD with one clip, a coyote backpack, three blood bags and two frag grenades from me) but as I enetered the house my body disappeared before their eyes someone else on the server went to loot his corpse but was forced only to hear its flies; we had killed him about an hour before and successfully looted his GPS and coyote and another chap I murdered during that same raid on stary sobor disappeared in the ten minutes between me killing him and going to check his corpse -

hey, I just accidentally duped a G17 and two G17 mags, please do not ban me for it (current name in game = Daniel Grey) tl: I swapped my G17 for the PDW I had left in the tent earlier then I attempted to place my ammo-less M4 SD into our tent, and it disappeared after a quick scan it was not apparent that the M4 was on the ground, so I assumed the inventory had eaten it (as it had munched my M14 AIM and three clips about half an hour before :() and DC'ed in order to 'beat the glitching' when I respawned I had a G17 and two clips, the PDW was gone and my M4 was both on the ground (the other side of the tent from my original access point /derp didn't think to check) and in my inventory so yes, I have caused items to duplicate, but please, I will not use them (or more than one of each) and I did not desire to cheat and dupe, I only wanted to avoid the pain of having the inventroy eat my rare loot

well when I want to play with my buds I want to bring my silenced M4 so I will meet up rather than respawn 100% of the time, anyone willing to respawn just to go makaroving with a couple buds is playing the wrong game and will get bored soon enough imo let them, I'll never see them anyway -
players earn one anothers trust by trating each other right, just as in reality that DayZ has broken with the bullshit frabrication '+ 5 points to light side' that we've endured for the past decade is to its credit in reality you don't see your 'paragon points' hovering over your head or in your inventory menu, so why should anyone expect it in any game?

I have had it a few times, sometimes as low as 8fps, sometimes not so severe, but still noticable running two 6950s on a 3.9GHz 2500k, mobo is an Asus Gene-Z r3, OS on an M4 and games on a WDC Black, all drivers kept up to date I find it only affects new or second-entry spawns immediately following or soon after death; when sub 10 fps occurs the only constant is proximity to the coast - when I get the juddery 20fps it's usually morning has occured in conjunction with the 'spawning into extended timeout' bug which also came with 1.5.8.2 cf: http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=5141 I have seen no correlation to any server or battleye update have not noticed it since updating to the latest OA beta, but a friend has... :/ -

the first time it happened to me I hadn;t fired or heard gunshots since I spawned, nor had I aggroed any zeds the same goes for my mate that is down and out on FR8 right now VigilVindex, spawned three times into down and out in the last half an hour, has fired once about an hour ago,; he's only dc-ing because he keeps getting the frame rate bug

for $150 you can get a 6870, which is a markedly better card (closer to a 560ti in performance) CPU is solid for the price though a 960T will sort you out for lower power and heat

4.5GHz 2500k and two 950MHz 6950s shader unlocked runs ARMA II @ 60fps with every setting as high as it goes

OP, at that low a resolution your 4670 should be able to run high settings in ARMA II however I'm not surprised that your CPU cannot handle ARMA II, which depends not on a high number of cores (I am almost certain it is no more than dual-threaded and should run acceptably on a single core) but on high clock-for-clock performance; in that department, the xii 240 is lame what's your budget and what country are you in? if money is tight you can put an air-cooler on you CPU and overclock - I expect that reaching 3.5GHz would boost frame rates by 25% 512MB VRAM is more than enough for your resolution, if you want to double check, download MSI Afterburner and add VRAM monitoring to the OSD - you'll be able to see in real time what the VRAM usage is

Waiting for server reponse (v1.5.7)

been playing since friday never had 'waiting for server response' be anything but a server-specific issue until this morning I had two hours to play this morning - got straight in, played for half an hour and then didn't get a message for 90 seconds then I spent an hour and a half waiting for a response on every server I tried right now Day Z has the lowest population I have ever seen so it is certainly not a load-related issue like the chap above, I can get into american servers but EU ones are locked out accross the boards and the first american server I got into reset my save by 12 hours, costing me the 24-slot pack, map, compass, knife, matches and three bandit kills I had earnt in the mean time love Day Z, will forgive anything, understand people getting pissed off at this shit -
new patch = don't let zombies see you - if you have to go into town get in and get out and keep your hands clean

everything in this thread is horrible

speed is ridiculous as is - walking zombies need to be be slightly slower than the player, not dramatically faster not just because escape is currently dependant entirely on finding a glitching enterable because there's no tension now - once you're spotted you're flooded with ultra quick zombies and can only flee a greater number of slower zombies would enable players to make tactical withdrawals and even standing their ground

I take it you have never designed anything trust' date=' a [b']coherent 'philosophy' (oh the pretentiousness) is vital vital vital and to get that you build from the ground up it's why Apple is one of the most valuable companies in the world and it's why Deus Ex retains PC Gamer's 'Best Game Evar' title year-after-year heck, it's why, despite the crappiest UI and launching with paradox-standards of bugs, ARMA is so beloved - ARMA is all about the milsim and everything in the game works towards that EVE is an example (nearly) of Day Z's proposition: players organise themselves and players decide their own fates just as we all do every day irl - only the game lets us explore ourselves and our predilections in a fantastical setting -
randomly a few hours ago all names disappeared entirely from the HUD - when hovering over a player all I see is their pack's designation, not their name and names have been gradually disappearing from the chat window - initially one or two chaps had no name, but now only one or two chaps in a server of fifty have a name pls dolan

I have rebooted both CO and my PC as well as trying different servers in DayZ and vanilla CO the problem persists in DayZ but not vanilla CO apologies, this should have been included in the OP

this mod is brilliant because it is a pure emergent player driven experience I wouldn't object to there being things to do beyond loot, as in Urban Dead where there is so much materiel to gather for even the most mundane crafting and back story is locked away in vaults in offices that players can motivate themselves to investigate extensively, but any mission issued by anything but a playa defeats the purpose of the design -
I have a friend visiting next weekend, he would love this game but I don't want his first experience of Chernarus to be crazy easy - since my character has an M4A3 with 80 rounds, two water bottles, three morphine, two painkillers, a czech pack, six bandages, military flashlight, pasta, beans, and an AKM with two full clips there would be no challenge for him I propose a profile system that allows perhaps three save-states per account - there's potential for abuse of the carry limits, but work arounds are possible (if a player loads a save state they are restricted to that save-state for 24 hours) minor suggestions - players can tag messages on certain locations a lá Demon Souls - allow clips to be merged - time consuming ofc, but carrying four makarov clips with two rounds each can get frustrating - more maps; I've played ten hours of Day Z now and I haven't found a single map in any town or military encampment - soldiers' corpses at military bases carry items - players' corpses can reanimate - combat knife as default, possibility to find better CQB weaponry
