http://i.imgur.com/J3ZUV.jpg Excuse my appearance... But yeah, I was the only guy who gingerly approached Rocket with a can of beans :P Great developer session. You're such a chill guy! I said I'd post it on the forums, so here's to hoping you'll see it.- 11 replies

It was tough walking around the whole expo with a can of Heinz baked beans with me :P So many people staring at me and asking questions. It was such a great laugh! He is such a top guy, you can tell he really loves interacting with his fans and the audience, and the community in general, which makes him so approachable. -
DayZ Standalone video from EuroGamer
simonbenchapongwimon_7@hotmail.com replied to XAM's topic in DayZ Mod Gallery
There was no live footage, it was basically a plan and goal to reach sort of thing. If you go through Eurogamers previous videos and find the one he did at Rezzed in Bristol, it's essentially the same, but obviously its been built upon. http://www.eurogamer...-says-dean-hall This notes what it's about mostly. About 4 paragraphs down it says: "The most notable of these 'clones' has been War Z. An audience member asked what he thought about it." - It was me who asked! -

Yeah man, it was absolutely fantastic. Got to play all of the games in the 18+ area. Tomb Raider believe it or not, is the one to look out for - totally took me by surprise as I wasn't following its development, it was brilliant. -

What did you use to install the mod? If it wasn't SixLauncher it sounds like you don't have the beta patch required to run DayZ -

After a hard day in DayZ, me and a few friends used to kick back in the Takistan Armex Armoury and test the weapons and vehicles. Since playing DayZ 1.7.2.2+ it's been unable to load, as if the data has deleted some required files. Is there a simple fix for this that doesn't require a full reinstall? -

Me and a friend approached the town, and heard you honking your horn. I'm guessing you thought it was safe as you left the engine running as you grabbed your supplies from the nearby supermarket. Sorry, and cheers! >DayZ GTA. -
Insanity System, combating banditry
simonbenchapongwimon_7@hotmail.com replied to CraigWazHere's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Anything that stops the game from being played is a bad idea in my opinion. Implementing a respawn timer that's longer than a couple of seconds is stupid. Why should players have to suffer that sort of "punishment" for dying? -

Not one of these again. No, just no. Anything that penalizes players for playing how THEY want to play is not the direction the game needs to go in. To go completely backwards, why don't we start punishing players that kill zombies? Is that a bad idea because it infringes upon your style of gameplay? Players are the ones who judge encounters with other people. If you feel threatened by anything, you've got two options, kill it or run away. That goes for any/all threats in the game. (zombies, players etc) I can understand the frustration of players getting killed willy nilly, but at the end of the day, you have the same option to do so, even if you don't have the same resources. These threads are always started by people who go to places like Cherno or Elektro and get ganked. Here's a tip: Go to smaller settlements that are inland to get your resources, don't hang about in one of the most PvP rife areas of the game then complain that Player killing is happening in a game that is half based around Player killing. (Survival of the fittest and all that jazz.) -

Your tears are delicious. If you can't handle the fire, stay out of the kitchen... so to speak. Yes I've had my fair share of deaths, pointless, fruitless and downright retarded deaths. It never made me come on the forums and cry like a child. It made me adapt. Tips: Avoid major cities and settlements, especially on the coast. If you want loot? Risk-reward and all that kazooie. -

Blood transfusion - how exactly does it work
simonbenchapongwimon_7@hotmail.com replied to Proceed (DayZ)'s topic in New Player Discussion
Drop it on the floor for them. Press G to go into your gear, find the blood and click it, then click drop in the bottom right corner of the window. Then have them mouse over you and scroll down on their mouse and it should say "Give Blood Transfusion" There'll be an animation similar to bandaging, and you're done. -
SUGGESTION: Character Development (Backstory and Talent/Skill System)
simonbenchapongwimon_7@hotmail.com replied to petward's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
As it stands, players all have equal rights in this game, no matter the playstyle, and that should never be compromised under any circumstances. If someone wants to kill another player, it shouldn't be because he wants another skill point in murder; it's because he had the right to, for whatever needs i.e food, drink, medical supplies, weaponry, or if he just felt like it. Same goes for a player who wants to team up with someone else, it shouldn't be because they want points in companionship, it should be because they feel their chances of survival are higher together. Giving any player any bonus of any kind, even if it doesn't increase damage done or health, is still a strong advantage over other players not just in the fact that they can kill, but loot rights also. For example: -Player 1 spots a building filled with loot, but is surrounded by zombies and walks on. -Player 2 enters building filled with loot unscathed, and is able to because of said perks (Decreased Aggro/Sight/Sound etc) It's a bit rough, but you get my idea. Obviously balance is a huge issue. - But I digress, this suggestion is something this game doesn't need. I feel that players are the ones that need to judge encounters with other players, not a system that will reward or punish people for playing differently. I know there are loads of players out there that want to kill each other, literally foaming at the mouth crazy players. Then there are players who want to lone wolf it and avoid everything and everyone and only take what's needed to survive i.e food, water and & medicine. Then there are players that want to meet up and play together, split the risk between them etc. - I feel a system like this will push players towards playing all roles, even if it's not what they want to do, just because of said perks, which I believe is wrong. Sorry for the long post. -

If that ever happens again, hit Prone. You'll do a leaping jump forward and regain control. It's annoying and I never pay attention to what triggers it. -
Admin Abuse - LU131???
simonbenchapongwimon_7@hotmail.com replied to Siickest's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
They do not have rights as a server owner/admin to kick players at their whim. http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/3061-kicking-of-players-for-clan-members/ Read through a few posts. When they're given the details, they agree to the rules set by Rocket. A quick quote from his first post: "In short, their are only two reasons why you, as a server owner, should ban a player on your server. Those two reasons are: Malicious talk, and racism. You may not ban a user for stealing your loot, killing you, spying on you, etc. " -

Making Smaller towns viable and stopping the shoot on sight mentality
simonbenchapongwimon_7@hotmail.com replied to wurocket's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Hahahaha, please. You're too delusional to see that you're punishing player killing. Please, please for the sake of your topic and credibility; address my suggestion in my previous post. How about we make it more "challenging" - as you put it, (tip toeing around the word punishing) by making it so when you kill a zombie, a horde of random online players are spawned in your direct vicinity all magically armed with M249's that can only damage you. It's not punishing in any way is it? It makes it more challenging! Also: I'm guessing when someone killed you in Cherno you lost a lot of loot? -

Making Smaller towns viable and stopping the shoot on sight mentality
simonbenchapongwimon_7@hotmail.com replied to wurocket's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Suggestion one: Sure, that could work, and could be helpful. Suggestion two: No, just flat out no. Why should players be punished for playing the game their way? Let's face it, a "huge zombie horde that spawns once you kill another player" is a punishment in whatever way you look at it. I'm totally getting sick of this. Again, let's go completely backwards on this: Why don't we start punishing players for killing zombies? Every time you kill a zombie, 4 players that are online are randomly spawned next to you with M249's with unlimited ammo. No? Why not? Yeah it sucks, I'm guessing you made this because you were PK'd in Cherno or whatever, but that's life inside Chenarus. If you can't take it, don't play it. Maybe next time you'll be the one that gets the drop on them. -

Ideas for game play
simonbenchapongwimon_7@hotmail.com replied to merrfack's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Yeah there are the odd times I'm able to vault over it, but then there are times where it's been used to block an entrance to a loot area and it's totally unvaultable. Like seriously, the only ways someone is getting out is either they put it down and they're camping out inside forever, eventually cut it down with a toolbox (Which are rather hard to find mind you), or they've put it there to be a huge twat and walk off. I don't carry it either, takes up valuable space, and if anything, can land you in trouble, especially if you block yourself in a place. -
Has anyone else just been updated to this? I was sitting on SixLauncher after it had updated, looking at potential servers to join, whilst casually perusing the forums, when I tabbed back to SixLauncher and realised it had another update for me. I'm now running v1.7.2.3 and just about all of the servers on SixLauncher are greyed out. I attempted to join one, only to get a message telling me the server was outdated. Also got a weird screen flashing akin to falling unconscious in-game. Anyone know what this is? Many thanks.

Players going insane on too many player kills
simonbenchapongwimon_7@hotmail.com replied to enforcer1975's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Punishing player killing = NO Everyone is entitled to play the game they want. To go completely backwards, why don't we implement a system that punishes players for killing zombies? Didn't think so. -
Help required - Paying fifteen bucks / giving away a steam account.
simonbenchapongwimon_7@hotmail.com replied to November (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Make sure you run both Arma 2 and Operation Arrowhead at least ONCE. I'll c&p what I said in previous topics: -Install Arma 2 (Steam - As Administrator) - I'm guessing you're using a retail version so install it as Administrator., -Install Arma 2 OA (Steam - As Administrator) -Run BOTH at least once. (As Administrator) - Needed for first time setup etc & to verify your CDkey, else you'll get all sorts of problems in game. -Download and install SixUpdater (As Administrator) - http://dayzmod.com/?SixUpdater -Run SixLAUNCHER (As Administrator) - Make sure you run Launcher and not Updater. -Big green install button under the DayZ logo on the left, it will install both the Beta patch needed and the DayZ files. -Pick a server with a low ping and not many players and join it!
