    Bad Version, Server rejection connection

I think the solution for me is going to be patience.

    [UPDATED] Weekly Stats, PvP Trends

You don't happen to be a Republican by any chance? lol
  3. It sounds like the majority of the posters here are just like me. I would venture to guess that most of you play more of a 'lone-wolf' style? I probably have about 20 hours of gameplay now and I've only died once. If you're smart and stealthy, people won't have a chance to shoot you. As a rule I stay out of sight and even out of communication unless I'm directly infront of someone. I won't shoot anyone if it can be helped because I don't like to draw attention to myself, ever. I really enjoyed reading the posts and finding that people are playing this game just like I am. I'm sure most of you have spent a good ammount of time proned in the shadows watching things develop, lol.

    (Small) Six Launcher Suggestion

    Cool, thanks for ticketing it!

    Simple Solution to Banditry

People riding around in buses handing out supplies in major cities doesn't sound like a zombie apocalypse to me. I actually prefer the game the way it is, with all the inherent dangers from both bandits and zombies. I don't always shoot first when I see another player, I just shoot when I need to. I don't want to be penalized for surviving at any cost in a game where survival is your main objective. I don't want other players to immediately be recognizable as combatants either, I want to make that judgment call for myself. The game right now is so open ended and undefined that adding arbitrary goals and markings for players would only serve to stifle the gameplay. Just reading the forums seems like everyone wants to turn this game into something that it isn't, and change the fundamental dynamics that make this game fun. If you want goals and rewards, rpg-style stats, karma, and forced friendly cooperation, take a break from DayZ and go back to W.o.W. for a while. Then when you're ready to do what it takes to survive, come back and play DayZ.

What timezone are most of your members in and when do they normally play? I'm in the U.S. - Arizona
  7. This is a small suggestion but I was just thinking that in six launcher the color for the "search server name" box could be changed. It kind of blends in with the rest of the menu and new players have a hard time finding it. It could have a blue background or something so it stands out a little more.

    Survivor Camp

You want to take a game where fear, danger, and paranoia are around every corner....and make it safe? You want a place to trade safely? You want guards stationed at the "safe" camp? Why are you even playing this game then?

Incentive for not being a bandit?

I agree there should be no consequence or difference between being a bandit or friendly. In real life people who would kill you aren't going to wear special clothes identifying themselves. Furthermore they are only going to get better at shooting people without remorse. The gameplay for all players should remain equal to everyone, that's what makes the game fun. You all are given equal chances of survival from the game, what you choose to do with it is what will get you killed, kill other people, or survive.

    Afew MUST have ideas!

Sorry man, I have to disagree with this one. I feel like games should stop when you stop playing them. I would hate to go on vacation, come back only to find my character starved to death while I was away.

    Make it harder, less loot

Yeah I don't think sniper rifles should be removed, it's an important dynamic for both assault and defense. I totally agree with the rarity of the military grade weapons, but then I feel like all the weapons (or at least ammo for them) should be harder to come by.

    Petition to make Zombies harder.

    I support this idea!

    New Zombie Textures

These are awesome! Keep up the great work and I hope they add this to the game at some point!

@ Beginners..no gun start is not impossible

I just started playing the other day so I have no concept of starting the game with a gun. Would I have liked a gun? Sure, but not having one put the fear of god in me about the zombies and other players. I had to learn their behavior on my own (before I started reading forums or watching videos) and spent a lot of time carefully raiding small buildings for equipment before I found one. When I did find one, I didn't fire it until absolutely necessary. I don't think I would have had the same attitude if I would have started with a gun. It really added an element of fear/helplessness to the game that I quite enjoyed. It also made me appreciate the hell out of that enfield when I found it. edit: Played for a total of about 6 hours and my first death was after the 5th hour of play. Not having a gun for so long made me so cautious I was able to stay alive much longer than I think I would have. The death came when I got desperate and made some risky/bad/newbie decisions to stay alive. I don't see how people start the game and die so frequently just because they don't have a gun. Do you think you would readily run into a town you saw infested with zombies in real life (gun or no gun) or would you watch it from a safe distance until the coast was clear?

    Bandits of DAY Z

On my first play I spawned on the beach and looked into the ocean and saw a boat. I swam out to the boat only to find that the gas was empty and I couldn't drive it. So I swam back to shore to find that while swimming I had lost the backpack that you spawn with. I continued to play looking for packs but didn't find anything except for an enfield and some ammo. I played for about 3 hours before I came across the first player I had seen the entire time, someone who looked like they had just spawned. Running low on food, water, and ammo I decided to shoot him down for his baclpack. Unfortunately the shots alerted every zombie in the nearby proximity and I only escaped with my life. When I snuck back to retrieve the guy's pack, it had dissapeared. Later that playthrough I ventured in to the city in a last ditch effort for survival. I found a cache of medical supplies, food, and weapons. As I was making my way back into the woods with all this stuff, I was gunned down by another player. Karma? Lol
