Just an FYI , the solo version of this - loot piles, drop them out of building, run 250m away, come back to like 70m and wait 10 minutes is working in 1.7.2.4. -

Dont trust the green status indicators top left when piloting. Ours was full green and leaking like a sieve. Make sure you scroll down with mouse wheel when looking for windows to repair. There arr additional window slots beyond the first 4-5 when you scroll down that may still be red. You also have to check the repair status on both the left and right sides of the heli since not all are acessible from only 1 side. -

Dunno bout using the rangefinder to mArk spots but if you have an ingame map you can just put up a waypoint using shift- left click on most servers.

The problem here is that you want the game to be something its not. no group chat, moving long distances through the woods, dealing with the situation youre dealt - all of these and other factors contribute to the core gameplay of dayz. Just look to the fact the mod is built on a hardcore mil sim instead CoDs engine. Im not flaming or saying youre wrong, just that there are many people attracted to this type of gameplay. Dayz is simply slower pace than many other shooters. We're not meant to just respawn and get back in the action.

Title says it all. I found a bike but all 4 maintenance categories are orange and the thing barely moves. Can I go get a toolbox/ stuff to repair it, or does that only work for motor vehicles?

POSITION: Spotter / Support (not included in your list, but there are times when you just need a lot of lead down-range.) Open to anything really though so long as it's with a good group. EXPERIENCE: about a week of DayZ, lotsa experience in more arcade-y shooters, way too much time playing games in general, RL military exp (infantry of course!) GEAR:(ideal loadout/current/past lives) ideal - Mk 48, 1911/M9 Why you want to join: I've done the solo thing for a bit now, looking for more organized play. Some things you just can't do solo. What you can bring to the team: Can follow/give orders, adapt to fluid situations, knowing when to stay silent or unleash hell, member of a team first and foremost Timezone/playing time: Eastern US - mostly available 6pm - 12pm weekdays, whenever weekends Like I said above, open to any suggestions - just would like to make the move from freelancing survivor to a more organized group. -

What's the hard part to understand that if you can see a zombie.... he can see you. I have yet to see a zombie pull out his binocular eyes and spot me a mile away. On the other hand, you can't just walk past a zombie 50m away and feel comfortable because he's outside some arbitrary aggro radius - even though someone half-blind would be able to see you. -

I was playing before update fine today. I updated then I've been getting the "waiting for char..." error on all servers since. The one exception was that I got on a server and was able to play for like an hour. I logged off and now it's back to "waiting for char". I didn't do anything differently that one time, not sure why it worked.
