DMR mil dots for CLOSER targets
Daddy'o (DayZ) replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I had to learn this the hard way, but all mil-dot calculations are affected by your resolution and aspect ratio. Take it from someone who has a full set of range-finding tables and mil-dot ranges on post-its glued on his screen sides. Your best option is to DL the shooting range mod and testing out the ranges for your resolution and aspect ratio and writing them down. -
And when you come back with the ghillie, he shoots you. What then?

Point of this Hack?
Daddy'o (DayZ) replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
There are teleporting hacks, but then if he wanted to kill you, you would be dead, the fact that you're still alive only goes to prove he wanted to mess around with ya. -
Dual boxing accounts step by step guide

Bumb for google visibility :) -
Yeah 50/100 means 50 are alive and 50 are dead of a total of 100 spawned.

Should I add sniper hotspots on maps?
Daddy'o (DayZ) replied to mccullxch's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Definitely not and voted no. My reasoning is that static information made readily available lessens the experience of the game. I already heavily rely and have relied on different kinds of 3rd party maps and loot maps and loot tables etc... and while they are highly useful, they have robbed me of the experience of finding out myself and enjoyment of surprises and exploration. Having sniper hotspots told out to everyone on a visual map would just kill yet another enjoyment out of the game. Doing your own research, finding the best spots yourself, overplaying others with your own hard work. -
How namy Murders I have to collect before I became a Bandit?
Daddy'o (DayZ) replied to Franz (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Bandit system still works the same as it did when the humanity system was still in place. You just don't get the bandit skin anymore. Meaning, there's still a humanity meter you can't see. Every shot you take at another player lowers it, and every murder drops it by a significant amount. It will also replenish slowly over time and doing transfusions on other players or bandaging other players replenishes it as well. Killing other bandits might replenish your humanity as well. Not sure. The game considers you a bandit when your humanity is less than 0, meaning a negative figure. Every fresh spawn starts with 12,000 (or was it 24,000?) positive, and every kill drops about 2000 or 5000 I think? Not sure on the number. It does also have some sort of a cumulative effect and I don't know the specific details. Firefights run the exception that if you are shot first, and hit, you get a 5 minute timer to kill that person without humanity loss, although it will still count as either a murder or a bandit kill depending on how much humanity the person has who shot you. So basically, if you get a few consecutive kills in short time, don't do much transfusions nor bandaging of others, your humanity will drop below 0 and you will be considered a bandit. If you found this helpful, gimme some beans please, I'm all out :) -

Ppl still play this? Lol
Daddy'o (DayZ) replied to despair (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yeah this game isn't for everyone. Some people just wont be entertained by sand box play. Something with quests and raids, instant gratification and hand holding and arena PvP with no kind of penalties often suit these people better. -
All (8) of our vehicles gone. How?
Daddy'o (DayZ) replied to headbasha's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I have no idea what you people are on about vehicle hogging. You can't even hog vehicles since you cant stash em beyond the boundaries anymore. Person 1 finds a vehicle at spot A. He then takes it and hides it at spot B. Person 1 also has 3 other vehicles stashed at points C, D and E. What difference does it make if person 2 finds a vehicle at spot B instead of spot A? or spots C, D and E for that matter? If anything people trying to hog vehicles make it easier for other people, if he puts em all at one location. Then when someone finds em, he can tell others where they are, and more people get fully fixed vehicles at the ready. Or he can just leave them be for others to find, or he can blow em all up and return them to spawn locations. Either way, they're still all in the map and anyone can find em just the same. Explain what's so bad at trying to hog vehicles since all it ever does is change spot A to spot B, which is no different. -

I love the part where you smack about your kill from 600 meters.... on a regular server that hands you the range :D -
Suggestion: Natural Consequences For Murder
Daddy'o (DayZ) replied to ssimmons's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Otherwise a pretty good suggestion but why it won't get implemented because this is a type of a simulation that tries to portray a realistic zombie apocalypse. Shooting a person does not realistically make you thirsty and hungry. That, and rocket has already stated many times he does NOT aim to balance the sandbox. He in fact, has stated that since he does not consider this a game, but a social experiment sandbox, he WANTS there to be imbalance. Otherwise, the humanity thing as well as the heart beat things still align with realism, kind of, I can understand the reasoning behind both, and I think those are following the right track. I instead propose a fully realistic social anxiety meter. A person, any person, is a social animal. It would only be natural for him to long for social contacts and social exchange. Being by yourself does cause anxiety in real life, and it doesn't even take that long before you start to feel lonely and feel like the walls are closing in on you. In DayZ it wouldn't be too hard to implement physical penalties due to high social anxiety, and have it go down by being close to other players for some time. -
So I found the FN FAL AN/PVS-4
Daddy'o (DayZ) replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yup, definitely the most useless gun in the game. Can only scope during the night but you can't move during the night without having NVGs already or lighting up your location with flares. -
Oh sorry then I just misunderstood your meaning. I take that statement back. And yes you are both correct on the point that the DayZ team didn't revoke his server, but they still got it revoked. The ultimate responsibility however does lie with the server rental service provider. And as far as I know the server renter did nothing against the user agreement he signed in order to receive the server, while I'm sure the service provider does retain the right to negate service agreements on their whim. Juridically I'm sure nothing was broken, but really though, it does seem like the guy got shit handed to him from 2 sources while only deserving one hand full. I'm not standing behind anyone on this one though personally, I can see the validity of this course of action as well as the ass-hattery on all sides of this.

Actually you are mistaken at the part they just gave a courtesy call before negatively impacting their business. When a person uses a server rental service provider, they get a server for their use with the services installed they require. This person installed the server application of DayZ on his rented server. If DayZ team wants to revoke the use of their mod on that server, then they are completely free to do so within the confounds of their end user agreement. Meaning they are allowed to block their server from their databases. However, DayZ team should have and don't have any power over the server itself and the service the person bought from the service provider. That's between them and is a different user agreement. The way this went down was that the dayz dev went outside and beyond their own user agreement, and stepped in between something that was between the renter and the renting service provider, nothing to do with DayZ, and busted an agreement between them. It's the same as if you rented a race car, and then you went to the race track to do a few laps. You drive in the wrong direction on the track and the track owner calls the rental service instead of throwing you out, and tells the rental service guy you're a jackass. The rental service guy then takes your car away even though you had paid for a full week. So instead of getting thrown out of the track for driving wrong, you lose your entire car and you can't drive anywhere anymore. Just as the guy lost his entire server and cant use it for anything anymore. Not just DayZ.
-
This person is most likely talking about the one case where one of the DayZ staff called a server rental service provider and had their server entirely revoked. The reasoning was that if they just black listed the server from the dayz hive, they would end up somehow black listing other servers using the same name / ip whatever in the future... so instead they called the service provider and explained the situation, and a person had his PAID server rental agreement revoked.

Well op you don't need to hop on 30 diff servers to find some. That rarely works anyway in the case of NVGs. However, your best option would be to farm both barracks for them. Get your group up and just empty the loot piles in them and dump the stuff, run 200 meters and run back and repeat until you find them. If farming isn't your style, then your best bet would be to camp the NW airfield and kill the people who move around there. They have a good chance of having NVGs on them. Especially the other campers.
-
Did you happen to save the truck? Because it will just automatically teleport back to where it was last saved unless you save it yourself. Oh and admins don't have the power to kill anyone with controls. Only hackers do.
-
Where did you pull that figure? Linky?
-
No it's not. You can still find legit choppers from the time they still spawned. Like I said before, heli's aren't disabled. Only fresh spawns are.
-
Doesn't matter how many military bases you raid since the NVGs only spawn by 0.11% chance at 2 small barracks buildings at the north western airport and by 0.40% chance from heli crash sites. And even if you do find a heli crash site with loot on it, odds are someone has already been there and picked up the NVGs. I've raided over 20 crash sites with and without loot and have yet to find NVGs on them.
-
Official hive has them disabled for double fold reasons. First they cause massive latency issues with the server they are used on, and are dangerous to use because of the danger of getting disconnected while flying, which causes an insta crash and death for all aboard. Also they are otherwise buggy as well with the ability to fit more than one gunner on the chopper weapons. They have been disabled for weeks and no word of them returning has been made since. Having said that, old servers can still have choppers, that have survived from the time they WERE spawned. Only the current spawning is disabled, not the actual choppers. This is why you can still see them on some servers. Also it might be possible some servers have received manual spawns from the dev team upon request. Can't verify that though. Unofficial hives, which are illegal, of course can have choppers and chopper spawns, because rocket and the dev team cant control those. Now gimme some beans!

Heli spawns are still disabled. Like they have for a long time.

GPS, Night vision and Range finders
Daddy'o (DayZ) replied to Sandisk's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Found nvgs on a barracks trip and they look like they would look while you wear them. They look like night vision goggles. Not a green pouch.
