This is where I have to say that I fully understand what you mean, and it will break the game. If you can't understand why or how it will break the game then you have a couple of loose nuts and bolts. A player is meant to randomly spawn and not be able to find there way right off the bat. If a player spawns at a safe house then they will know their way straight away. You will also have constant player killers using this to kill even more players who walk out of that building. Sorry to say, you haven't thought this through. ~Derranged

Hello, In my honest opinion, no thank you. The game handles player killing perfectly fine as it is. We don't want any Safe houses, they would ruin the experience. If you keep getting killed sorry, you have to deal with it. ~Derranged

Some things I've noticed in the new update
Derranged replied to Goose Springsteen's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Hello, I did not take any notice to sandbags around the middle of Cherno. I attempt to stay away from Cherno or Elektro due to the fact PVP'ers lurk around there. Yes, loots have become rarer. In my opinion they are more realistic due to the fact most things would have already been looted in a desolated city. So yes, you aren't the only person who has noticed the changes. ~Derranged -

Hello, Well, in my opinion you can survive with teamwork yes. The hardest part would be to find another person who wouldn't like to kill you. In those situations some people might get jealous of the weapon you have and murder you in the night. You never know if you are being used by another person. As in, you and the other guy are headed to a location where a lot of loot might be, they could end up killing you and keeping all of the loot for themselves. All of this happens in real life, but in an un-controllable scenario like this it would be most present. We have not yet faced a Zombie Appocalypse so nobody can judge the outcome of friendship. You might meet up with somebody who looks like a nice guy, but is slowly becoming insane. When a person becomes insane they can become very deadly and attack you, even if you have been their friend for a very long time. Our brain is complex, a wolf would survive longer then any human would because they have more instinct to survive then we do. All of our instinct to survive has almost been wiped out because of everything we have invented to make life easier. Overall, yes. You can be friendly to some people, but some others may have to be put down. As from many games you have your Bandits or Psychopaths who will also kill you on sight. So, in my opinion, I shoot to kill if they are hostile. If I was able to reason with an un-armed survivor then yeah, we could team up. Since we have never experienced a true apocalypse in real life we have no understanding of what the outcome might be. ~Derranged

Hello' date=' I agree with you, AI driven NPC's which keep us in-line is not exactly the best idea. However many people complain about being attacked by another player should just leave now. If this scenario happened in real life how would you survive? You have to kill to survive, you couldn't take any chances as a friendly who you have randomly met up with could shove a blunt knife into your back. You never know, so in-game I pretty much kill-on-sight. If there was a system trying to actually stop me from killing my enemy then what's worth playing the mod? When it's based around survival! Even if there were PVP Free Zones I reckon it would ruin the game. It would make it more of a role playing game and would probably destroy the fan-base. Overall, can't people understand that the mod is about [b']suvival! If somebody cannot understand it then just tell them to leave the game and go back to playing Farmville! ~Derranged

Hello, Well, I also wish the Zombies wouldn't zig-zag around like chickens with their heads cut off but it's how ArmA 2's A.I. had been scripted. Hopefully ArmA 3 has been worked on for a little longer :P ~Derranged

Hello, I am currently running a HD Radeon 6870 and I have to keep the 3D Resolution to the minimum. I know it might spice up the game but it's not always worth forking out another $500 for a 7950. So yeah, the only thing that I can advise for you to do is to lower your 3D Resolution. Also, I have been getting the frame rate freezes for about 1 second "So has my friend". ~Derranged

Hello, 1: Have you installed any other mods and left the files there? 2: Have you downloaded the mod and installed it correctly (I know you may give me flak about this but I have to ask just in-case). 3: If all else fails schedule a meeting with another player at a certain time to join into a game and see the message of why it kicks you. ~Derranged

Hello, I and my group of friends kill anything that moves, sorry to say but we have been sick and tried of either being followed and murdered. Since the rid of the name tag system there is not many ways of contacting another player. Usually by the time you have attempted to contact them they have either gunned you down or have broken your legs. Protip: Shoot a players legs while they are getting chased by zombies! The out-come has got to be the best I have ever seen. -Tip thanks to Scott'. ~Derranged

Hello, This is the main rule I have followed since the start of DayZ. I have my own friends which I travel with, everybody else is hostile. I have had my fair share of PVP'ers on the way who attempt to kill you just because you look at them. A Quote From Metro 2033, "If It's Holstile, You Kill It". ~Derranged

Hello, I don't have any problems with the zombies because I have the guts to just turn around and shoot the bugger in the head and get it over and done with! Problem Solved. If they don't want to be chased stick to the forest line instead of running through the town thinking you are some hot-shot and then suddenly cry when you get chased by 50+ Zombies! Anyway, agreed. Do not in anyway alter the Zombies, in my opinion they are 100% fine as they are. ~Derranged

Exactly! Definitely since we cannot verify who they are any more.

I did not exactly see any rules so I pretty much went ahead and Photo shopped the image I was able to take. If you don't accept Photo shopped pictures look below for the original. I know I should have gotten a picture with something actually related to the mod but oh well, it should do. Now, if the the originally looked like what I have managed to make it look like I would enjoy the game even more "If that is even possible". I hope to host an Australian/New Zealand server in the near future! "Once I decide to pour money into the server project".

In my opinion, if the player doubles his starting Humanity (EG: 5000 Humanity) his skin should be changed over to another "Good" looking one. Maybe then that will make people stop shooting some other players for no particular reason. I have become a bandit now due to the fact I have been getting shot and killed way too many times. I now shoot on sight, but I attempt to stay away from the major cities and let the either new players, or spawning players get their equipment and then head out. As the comment above states "I think you should just be able to choose whatever skin you want." This is where I have to sort of agree. I would like to be able to wear multiple different skins at times, Maybe add an in-game currency to allow you to buy items like Permanent Clothes from static, A.I. driven NPC's.

Factions / Trading / Player Types
Derranged replied to lithiumfox.av@gmail.com's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I fully agree and support you with this idea. This would expand the mod even further then it has already gone and would bring even more players to the database. Thank you for your awesome idea and I hope it will become part of the game one day! ~Derranged -
respawn as zombie option (please close)
Derranged replied to oktyabr's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
In my opinion this probably isn't the best of the ideas. The mod is revolving around survival and re-spawning as a zombie just doesn't fit the mod. In a way, the game would become unbalanced. People would "attempt" to sneak past a random zombie and then all of a sudden one comes screaming over without the player even startling it. So overall, you will be copping a lot of flak about this suggestion. ~Derranged -
Found A Bug - Probably Happens Normally In ArmA
Derranged posted a topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Hello All, Well, it seems that if you are hiding under a truck and the server crashes you become glitched. I mean as in you respawn under the truck hanging onto life with the longest wait I have ever experienced. My friend dragged me out from underneath the truck and I did I couple of restarts which did not fix the problem at all. I am not saying to help me as my friend had to shoot me in the head, but this can be shown as a small warning to other players. Do not hide under trucks before the server is about to crash. ~Derranged
