So I've been seeing a lot of people with this problem, and all I see in my server log is people connecting and then disconnecting straight away and they get the error: BattlEye Initialisation Error. There is a simple fix for this, for both players and server owners. Download these links: http://www.battleye....61/BEClient.dll and http://www.battleye....61/BEServer.dll once downloaded, paste both of the .dll files into your arma 2 operation arrowhead/Expansion/BattlEye there will already be two files in there, so just overwrite them. I hope this helps, I've seen so many people have this problem since the beta came out.

Ok, maybe try going into arma 2 operation arrowhead/Expantion/beta Now copy arma2oa.exe and paste it in the main directory (arma 2 operation arrowhead) and then download the beta and extract the .exe only into the main arma 2 directory. Then run it as admin and once it is installed, run arma2oa.exe from the directory you just put in.
  5. Download these: http://www.battleye.com/downloads/arma2/1.61/BEClient.dll http://www.battleye.com/downloads/arma2/1.61/BEServer.dll then copy and paste them in your arma 2 operation arrorhead/Expantion/BattleEye folder and overwrite the ones already in there. Hope this helps.
  6. Quick question - My IP got accepted and I completed signing the Instance ID up, but I still have to red No in the 'My Servers' tab of support.dayzmod.com. Is this saying that I'm not actually whitelisted yet? I saw something about it taking up to 24 hours to register the whitelisting. Plus I can access the 'Downloads' tab in the support page. My server, even though I'm pretty sure everything is right isn't working correctly. I run it, it shows up and I join it but I get an infinite loading screen every time and it skips the receiving, waiting for character part etc. So can anyone answer this? Thanks.
  7. I dont think it would work quite like that. Just because you up the 'Magazine' size doesn't mean the animation for putting a new bolt in the bow would change and be some semi-auto bullshit bolt firing death machine. I think they could change it up with ease.

I was in the city on the train when I sent that second post (<3 free wifi) and as soon as I got off the train, I received another email for my IP! :D So yeah, 3 days for the first IP and 2 days for the second. Considering all 3 IP's were accepted within a few minutes, they must look over the entire account, so this confirms they must go through the accounts themselves rather than some dodgy program (however I didn't believe that in the first place, it does answer some peoples question). Overall I'm very happy with DayZ's work. So yeah, about 3 days for your IP's to get whitelisted :)
  9. Ok, just an update. When I went to whitelist my server, I was given someone else's IP accidentally. So I sent the request in for that IP not knowing it wasn't mine. About 12 hours later I got my actual server IP and I sent that one in to get whitelisting. Just got an email for the successful whitelisting of the server that wasn't mine -_- oh we'll, whoever owns 216.244.65.18, you now have a whitelisted server :P
  10. Really? I've looked on the wiki and it says the DMR is rare and the M24 is very rare. But in my time playing, other than picking them up of other players I've found the M24 about 4 time. I've only ever found the DMR once. And remember, that is at it's actual spawn point, not off another player. So I don't know. Maybe they do have the same spawn rate, however the wiki says otherwise and many of you are saying that you find the DMR more commonly.
  11. Yeah, however if you did not spawn the ammo box, you can only see what has been put in there by a player. The person who spawned it can see everything. Don't know why, but that's the way it works. So really you can't tell whether it is legitimate or not unless you look at the log or if you assume it's in a stupid spot (supermarket, middle of cherno) etc. And I think the only legitimate spot they spawn is at a heli crash site.
  12. It mentions on the wiki site that the DMR and the M24 both have the same range. The only difference with the guns is the mag count and the fire rate. And the mildots can be used in the M24 to find a target's distance, similar to that of the SVD Dragonov's PSO-1 scope. So I guess this is an advantage on efficiency for an experienced rifleman. However the majority of the servers you don't even need a rangefinder. You just have to scroll and BAM! distance is shown.
  13. I wouldn't assume that it's be too hard to introduce. I mean, all you'd have to do is change the variable of how many slots the bolt takes up. For instance if you were to make it 5 bolts to an inventory slot, you'd just change the bolt size to 0.2 rather than 1.0. But then again, I'm not sure how Arma II's ammo script works. I haven't actually bothered to look into it. But yeah, something similar to this should be able to work. I'd say eventually they will fix it as at the moment it is very UP.
  14. I don't think so. You can get BE banned for executing illegitimate scripts in game. I may be wrong but that's what I've heard and seen. But I don't know if it's so much ammo boxes, but I think if you spawn a chopper or something else extreme, whether or not you are seen doesn't matter. BE will pick up on it. But I'm not 100% certain, this is just what I've seen.
  15. Can't beat video evidence XD however although I do now agree with what you are saying, I still think the point stand however, that supersonic ammo should be allowed to be used. Although it will TECHNICALLY suppress the gun, the distinctive crack is still made. And the thump is always loader than the crack ;) also, when looking for an enemy target who's firing, you use the thump and crack to determin their location. This is the general incentive everywhere. So if you COULD use both types ammo, it would still be an advantage. So I still think it should be added.

  17. You cannot host your own server as you do not have a whitelisted IP. Your IP is not whitelisted because I can already tell you don't meet the requirnents. Your main problem here is that it states in the rules for owning a server that it may not be password locked, it must have 30+ slots and it must be connected to the hive. I'm assuming you're not running this off an actual dedicated server. There's your other problem. If you wish to host a server, but a dedicated server, request for your servers up to be whitelisted at support.dayzmod.com and then set up your DayZ server. This mod was not intended for people to download and play by themselves.

Now I'm not one to use the Crossbow, however I have been talking to some other gentlemen on another thread about thixing the Crossbow to make it a little more useful then, well, absolutely nothing. I hate the weapon. I'd prefer to have nothing at all than a Crossbow. Just IMO. Don't all have a rage at be, you Crossbow loving bastards :@ Here's what I believe should change with the Crossbow: A quiver of some sort should be added to the game. But this must be found and have about the same if not less rarity than the Crossbow itself. For the Crossbow to have the ability to slow it's targets on the receiving end, whether that be Survivors or Zombies. That's pretty much all I can think of right now as it's late here XD I've seen a lot of requests on changing the sites, but I don't know if this is actually possible considering the firearm is already implemented into the game? Not sure on that one. But yeah, leave your suggestions should change below! :D
  22. What would make the crossbow better: Considering how weak the firearm is, why not make it slow down the zombies rather than a 1 shot kill unless it's in the head? I agree on the quiver. However I believe that it must be found, however make it a very common item. Sites can't really change considering it's already implemented in the game. I think I might add this to the suggestions thread.
