[Temp. Closed] DayZ Walking Militia
pieflavor replied to Legacy (DayZ)'s topic in Clan / Group Recruitment
Profile Name:Pie Flavor Player ID (Not SteamID):jchr (really, it's very confusing trying to get the Steam ID out of my profile, just search by that name and you'll find my steam profile) Why do you wish to join the Militia: I need trustworthy people with whom I can actually play the game, as well as some protection in order to survive in this world. What can you offer the Militia: just the same as every single other member could, nothing special about me Are you a team player: yes I am Are you willing to lose your gear if required: Yes I am willing to lose everything I've worked for. Have you been with any other groups, and if so state which: none so far, and it's becoming increasingly frustrating Extra Information: Despite me being european I can play on US servers, so as long as they don't automatically kick people due to a ping spike. -
Do maps track your position when in towns? I saw on a server when I was in chernogorsk, that my position was marked as "survivor" along with the field hospital, both in blue on the map. what do crows mean? does it mean bandit nearby? or simply "you're not alone" or "someone has been here before"? I have more though
-
I see, maybe I'm a bit overparanoid but I've read somewhere that crows mean something, except they didn't tell what btw are there different hive character data for regular and veteran modes?

bump for some help, already reached the second page

As of right now every single player spawns as the same, a random guy with nothing on except a coyote patrol pack, a bandage, a box of painkillers and a flashlight. I propose we have some more depth in character customization, by allowing us to choose a "class" you see, not everybody is the same, some people are civilians, others are military, some civilians are proficient in medical treatment, others in cooking food, others are proficient in engineering, likewise, some soldiers are more proficient in firearms than others, some have better spotting and sniping skills, some are trained to be drivers... So I suggest we choose a background for our character, and that in such, we start with different gear and skills altogether The possibilities are endless: spawn as a medic, start with a medic backpack capable of reserving 5 extra slots of items only for medical supplies, have faster treatment animations, etc... - Start as a field soldier, and as such with a weapon, have better performance with firearms this doesn't mean we limit the possibilities for a player who chooses one specific class, but that he gains an advantage instead by playing one specific way (teamwork much) Any opinions are appreciated, as well as judged.

I just felt that everyone having an even field of play went against the game's principles...

do you even know what forums are you at?

Official 'Friendly' Challenge & Response
pieflavor replied to Vexus's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I read and reread the entire post 9001 times already and can't find the deep thought behind your 12 word post nobody is going to bother "spread this" (people have better things to do, such as protecting themselves) the best hope is for friendly people to read this thread, and as far as I know most forum lurkers are veteran players, and most veteran players are also bandits (zombies are boring, what's the point to play the game after a while, if not to just hunt down newbies for the sake of it) so the effect of this thread on the community is devoid by a simple barrier: knowledge. -

Pizza Anyways you'll soon learn that being a good samaritan has no place in this game, what's best is to run, for the most part, solo. say you meet a stranger, talk through voice with him, tell him that if he doesn't respond in 30 seconds, you shoot him down. If he does respond, give him a can of beans and run away from him, as fast as you can (there's this saying "give someone help, and he'll come back asking for more", in this case substitute the latter part by "shoot you in the back") the only situations I would recommend you to team up is with people you know of a long time ago. If you really find yourself in a dire situation (200 blood with a blood bag) you can contact the reddit rescue force http://www.reddit.com/r/RedditRescueForce/ a group of trustworthy people who will come to aid you if you provide location and situation.

hmm an economy of bartering with no trust... I see not so much economic activity to be honest.

Honestly' date=' who the hell says carebears? It doesn't even make sense, it's not even insulting. This is the result of kids trying to be creative but failing at it. Please, never use that word again. Your comment is very... ridiculous; since I am not allowed to insult you directly that word shall suffice. "...people getting an advantage [over them(not above; that doesn't make sense)']" is the definition of cheating. That's the equivalent of taking steroids for professional sports, it's illegal. OP is right, if it is connected to the hive that admin was in clear violation of Rocket's rules. NOT YOUR RULES, cuz honestly your rules would be stupid and ridiculous. He should be warned at least. It's the exact same reason hacks aren't allowed, it gives people a ridiculous advantage that is undeserved. Sorry kid you are wrong. the point here is: I'm not gonna take you seriously, you are crying, and crying and complaining is the sheer definition of a carebear, doesn't matter how reasonable it sounds, the reason you're complaining is far from going to affect you directly. or in other words: nobody cares, and you shouldn't either, they did it once, and doubt it will happen again, and in that occasion, unless you were killed by them, it was far from making an impact on your gameplay. -

you know what makes something fun? the fact that you learn something new from it.

I heard a dog companion is in the works to be implemented!
pieflavor replied to Booker (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
hmm wasn't the developer's objective to cause emotional pain to all of the players? this sounds like a very good idea to trigger depression on a massive percentage of the playerbase. -
expect this with servers with different mission files, just stick to one server to be safe...
-
I deduced you're europeans which is cool for me do you have any age requirement? not that I'm too young but it's worthy to note on your recruiting thread. also, free recruiting will get you tons of bad apples, expect to see a lot of griefing and a lot of conflicts due to accepting everybody... that's just my experience I'll hop on the TS server sometime.

This video sums up why the zombies in Dayz are NOT fun in their current state.
pieflavor replied to jenson's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
if anything players should have a stamina bar that lasts as long as 5 seconds of continuous running, as of now everyone's just running away for 30 min avoiding the zombies, while in reality they should have been eaten by them 7 times by that time. -
Instant Karma for the bandit called: Mehmed

I'm sure someone appreciates your excitement (not the devs, mind you, we're all guinea pigs to them), but please take your time to use paragraphs and full pauses so as to make your text easier to read.
