alt+f4 never works for me, I have to alttab and open task manager then kill process to actually shut the game down, that or abortdisconnect yes, I have a doctor in disconnecting from dayz due to my extensive experience and knowledge, and I say stop calling it altf4

the one thing that is REALLY rare is the mountain dew soda can, which serves the same purpose as coke or pepsi, but is symbolically rare, and you'll hear about it in the sense that it's really an accomplishment to find a mountain dew.

nah the beans are a signature item for this game, it's the same as the crowbar for HL2 or suchlike. whenever someone talks about DayZ somewhere else, beans are prone to appear in the conversation,

I resort to flares and chemlights, especially since most pitch black nighttime servers have relatively low population. also each time I spawn I always try to look for a military flashlight, it's simply my favorite tool, doesn't matter if I have to drop my glock for it.

"hardened"? more like "pussified", to be honest you give up too easily, this isn't real life, you can respawn an infinite number of times, why not keep trying being friendly? why must you succumb to the unnecessary murder that at the end of the day won't matter at all? -

if it's not matches, it's lack of hunting knives, if not, hatchets... I once found a total of 3 alices on a loot tour, it seems as if every time I start fresh the game decides to flood me with 1 single item and not give me any of the others, therefore potentially never find anything you need -

what? I kill zombies with my as50 on a regular basis, I empty 7 mags average every elektro run I do... except I don't, I'm also looking for easy kills. -
I went to sleep so I couldn't address each post when they were written, so I'd thought to address them now. 1st - zombies are NPCs, just not as intelligent and/or organized as the ones I'm suggesting, I don't see your point, 2nd- well I see this pretty hard to achieve, especially when as the state of the current community, nobody wants to organize nor team up with others. player driven will never work, there are only 3 ways a game can end if you give too much liberty to players (and we can already see this): - people exploit the shit out of the game glitches - people cheat and hack the shit out of the game - people grief and harrash the shit out of other players for sheer diversion. restricting the player possibilities would prevent this but then it would go against the game philosophy, not restricting will send this game to hell. no there are not, I've yet to see any trace of organization being made by players on such low playercount servers, all I see is one guy shooting another who just met for no reason, then getting shot in the back by another who was watching him, and the last one gets shot down by another who had a sniper rifle and was sitting 300m from them, that's the general feeling of the game right now. well if rocket said no, then it's no, cannot argue against that. but I saw potential on this game to deliver a true Player vs Environment experience, something you don't see too much anymore on other games. As of now this game's endgame is still PvP, and it's gratuitous killing for no reason since once you've spawned enough times you'll be able to gear up pretty easily with not much opposition or resistance. I'm proposing to implement a common and very powerful enemy to all players, so as to make players actually organize and team up, to fight for a greater cause.

yeah that drops the weapon to the ground, as well as any ammo you had for your former main weapon, just clarifying.

lost a night vision FAL and a normal FAL this way, it seems as if placing a weapon in the backpack then messing around with the leftover content/spaces in it has bad results.

as of this moment dayZ is in need of more critical stuff than adding such a big overhaul, that considering this is even considered, but it's never too bad to daydream a bit every once in a while.

I'm running Arma 2 OA beta 94876 build, on the following specs PC - Intel i7 2630QM @ 2 GHz - ATI radeon 6770m - 4 GB RAM when I launch through sixlauncher: game launches successfully, but apparently it only launches Arma 2 OA, not CO, I can play DayZ perfectly, but when playing any singleplayer arma 2 mission the screen gets stuck at a position, the map is empty (just like in DayZ) and I cannot do anything when I launch on steam, both launching OA and CO, I get the "error creating direct3d graphic engine" which is a typical error if you're using steam withouth admin rights. Thing is:I'm running steam on admin and sixlauncher seems to make it launch, but only for dayZ, I get the following "expansions": dayz, beta, arma2, expansion there should be no reason not to be able to launch OA or CO through steam directly if it can be successfully launched through sixlauncher I suspect it has something to do with a beta patch, since prior to updating to 94444 I had no problems playing the vanilla arma 2 missions on a dayz launched session. any help would be much appreciated. another thing: if I launch arma 2, not OA nor CO, I can play it perfectly, further increasing my suspiciousness on the beta patch.

hmm thanks, I verified integrity of game file cache and it managed to launch the game on steam but the problem still persists in that every single mission is unplayable except for dayz

no it doesn't work through steam, it gives the direct3d engine error, although it works on sixlauncher but only for playing dayz

i just found one with an fn fal, a dmr and an as50, and in spite of being offtopic, did I make the right decision to take the as50 over the dmr? the fal had no ammo for it

it stays only on the server, and there is no guarantee if you simply drop the items on the ground, to effectively save items you'd need a vehicle with carrying capacity and/or a military tent, which keeps items even after a server restart.

any reason why they removed them? did they want to make it a preorder bonus to the first 50 servers to host dayz?
